This is a band which had the talent, had the energy, too bad the original lineup has changed because Andy Timmons cranks on the guitar, and Ted Poley has a very good voice, however now, he seems to be wanting lite radio airplay because the style has mellowed out tremendously

From: Chris C. Date: January 30, 2001 at 12:19
I agree with the comment above that it's a shame this line-up could not endure. This is a great album with all members truly shining. A little bit of everything. Ted Poley Rocks!!!!

From: Paulo Fernandes Date: May 6, 2001 at 8:49
Great album, just listen to Naughty Naughty; Don't Walk Away, Feels like love, hell they're all great songs . Get it!!

From: Janxy Date: May 20, 2001 at 12:37
I fondly remember the emotion of love at first sight (or rather first listen) this album granted me. For a loooong time I could listen to nothing but. All else just sounded inferrior. One of my all-time top ten albums. Feels Like Love is still my favorite song of all time. Perfection.

From: James Date: June 1, 2001 at 19:18
This is such a wonderful album. Call it lite, pop metal or what have you, but this was just plain fun party rock music. Ted's vocals are one of the best in all of rock and Andy's guitar playing is great, that shows on the screw it album. Andy only played on two songs on this album,'Saturday Nite' and 'Boys Will Be Boys'. All other guitar work was done by Tony Rey. Wish the origional band could reform and have fun again.

From: Eugenio Chahin Date: June 20, 2001 at 14:39
Just my all time favorite. Nothing more to say. 10.00/10.00 !!!

From: Eugenio Chahin Date: June 20, 2001 at 14:42

From: JOYLove Date: July 19, 2001 at 12:35
This album will never go out of style as far as I am concerned! It is wonderful and I miss the old line-up as well. No matter what thought let's keep supporting the band! Can't wait for CockRoach already. xoxoxox

From: Mark Date: August 7, 2001 at 14:20
10/10! One of the all-time great pop metal CDs! Great guitars, AWESOME vocals by the unparallelled Ted Poley, and great harmonies combine to form a devastating lineup of party songs, rockers, and cool ballads. I have over 150 hard/metal CDs, and this one is in the top 5. BUY IT!

Highly underrated band and a classic album.

From: Jenni Date: December 2, 2001 at 14:28
THE BEST CD OF 1989. Wow, does this one bring back good memories. Don't Walk Away is the best song on the album!

From: koogles Date: January 1, 2002 at 12:53
This band could do it all. Glam to AOR to ballads... in a perfect world, Danger Danger would have been every bit as big as Warrant and Poison. This is an incredible CD that everyone should own.

From: dokken6008 Date: March 17, 2002 at 6:01
Can't say much more that hasn't already been said throughout the internet. Danger Danger's first album was and STILL IS their best ever. It is a true rock and roll pop metal masterpiece with there not being even one single bad song on the entire record. All of the band members had the looks AND the talent to make it huge on MTV & throughout the world as pop metal superstars but somehow never did. That truly is sad but the music lives on. I love this album.

From: Mike Date: March 25, 2002 at 13:46
D2 is THE melodic rock band! Sometimes bit gloomy, sometimes flying. I own my Lp. for 10 years, and still can't get bored with the song Rock America. Poley rulez!!

From: Desslar Date: March 26, 2002 at 12:12
A couple of decent pop tunes, but that's about it. The songs are just too sugary sweet and tame. Best CD of '89? Get real. Dr. Feelgood tears this to shreds.

From: dokken6008 Date: April 8, 2002 at 8:37
What's with the Crue/D2 comparisons? Motley Crue are a hard rock glam sleaze band, Danger Danger were a pop metal band who did what they did very well. There is no co-relation between the two. 'sugary sweet and tame'? It's a fucking pop metal release for cripes' sake! Most D2 fans--or even most glam/pop metal fans for that matter--would agree that this is one of THE best of 1989. Personally, I don't have a favorite out of the '86 to '92 time period--there are too many great cds to choose from.

From: Sean Kaufman Date: April 17, 2002 at 0:12
Best hair metal of all time...Naughty Naughty is a true gem...really good guitar work...Ted Poley is the best vocalist of all time...

From: Tony Date: May 2, 2002 at 0:22
Ahh my intro to my favorite pop metal band of all time. Cripes I still love this cd and while 'Screw It' to me is just perfect this was a great stepping stone to that album. If someone took me aside and asked what to listen to if they wanted to check out pop metal I'd say these guys without hesitation. For this kind of stuff these guys did this perfectly & if you ever get to meet them are just the coolest most friendly dudes!!

From: Richard H. Date: May 13, 2002 at 17:16
In a few simple words....... these guys were a better Bon Jovi.Danger Danger was ultra melodic and were(and still are) talented musicians. While hair bands like Bon Jovi ,Poison and Cinderella took the mid western train out of AOR land these guys stuck to their formula and continued making the perfect soundtrack music for getting laid ,wasted or partying 24/7.

From: Mark Date: June 4, 2002 at 23:34
It does my heart good to see that so many people love this band as much as I do. They never made it nearly as big as they should have, and that's too bad. To this day, if I find out someone still likes 80s metal, I ask them if they know about D2. If they don't, I do what I can to introduce them to the ultimate pop metal band. Help me spread the word about D2. If you don't have Cockroach yet (the long rumored, never released 3rd CD), you have to buy it!

From: Reno Date: June 5, 2002 at 4:23
Long Rumored, Never released? Buy it? Hmmm..... I've had cdr's of it for years and now have the 2 original versions. I guess it would have had to be released for me to buy it huh?

From: Mark Date: June 5, 2002 at 21:23
Sorry Professor Reno, I guess I should have written never BEFORE released. I didn't realize that English professors would be grading us on style and grammar. As for long rumored, I would say that when an album is recorded and not officially for sale for approximately 8 years, that qualifies. And it's cdrs, PhD Reno, not cdr's (plurals don't need an apostrophe, possessives do). Don't waste everyone's time correcting grammar and word usage if that's all you have to say.

From: Reno Date: June 6, 2002 at 6:17
A little touchy are we SkidMark? The statement made had nothing to do with an english lesson moron. If the original statement had said long rumored, finally released or something to that effect, I wouldn't have said anything. Anyone reading that who didn't know anything about D2 probably would have thought the same thing. 'How am I supposed to buy it if it's never been released?'

From: TIM Date: June 6, 2002 at 8:43
He definately needs to touch up on his English skills. That had nothing to do with grammar or usage as you stated Reno. Mark needs more reading comprehension courses.

From: TIM Date: June 6, 2002 at 9:14
Make that 'style and grammar.' Oh well, who cares. It's too early in the morning to be playing English professor. I need some caffeine. By the way, this is a great album.

From: TIM Date: June 6, 2002 at 9:20
Well Mark, make that 'who cares?' You were actually playing English professor, not Reno. Just take a little more time to read someone's statements before you start picking them apart.

From: Reno Date: June 6, 2002 at 12:19
Ummm....Yeah!!!! What Tim said. Don't piss Tim off if he hasn't had his caffiene. You'll end up wih a new asshole by the time he's done with you. Anyway....Yes, this was an excellant cd. I got Screw It first and really liked it, so I went and found their other cd's. I wasn't to impressed with Dawn's style, but the songwriting was ok. I'm glad they finally released Cockroach. It's a nice turn back to their trademark style. Gildersleeves was awesome too. I'd love to see Timmons rejoin for good.

From: TIM Date: June 6, 2002 at 12:59
Reno, I wouldn't mind putting Timmons in the supergroup you mentioned on the George Lynch page.

From: Reno Date: June 6, 2002 at 13:44
Yes...I would have to include Timmons also. he has to be one of the most underrated guitarists in rock. People tend to overlook the actual musicianship of a band and just look at their image. Poison is huge, but CC isn't that good of a guitarist. Neither is Slash of GNR. They are just very high profile personalities in the rock world. Timmon's, Marc Diglio(XYZ), Joey Allen(Warrant), Stevie Blaze(Lillian Axe), Pete Lesperance(Harem Scarem), Nuno Bettoncourt(Extreme) are very underrated guitarists

From: Reno Date: June 6, 2002 at 13:46
...Continued from above. These guys are very crisp and precise in their playing and styles and are always overlooked. Although Slash and CC are very good for their own styles, they are also very sloppy.

From: TIM Date: June 6, 2002 at 13:57
I think Nuno's great, but I'd probably go with Diglio and Timmons on the axes. I'll have think about the rest of the band. There are so many to choose from, but any of the lineups you all mentioned would work.

From: Reno Date: June 6, 2002 at 13:58
OK, to clarify this even further so i don't start a war, CC and Slash are very good for the styles they play and the bands they are in. I just usually judge a guitarist by how precise and accurate they are when they play. If you watch CC or Slash live you'll know what I mean. They get carried away and sound very sloppy. I've seen both live many times. I've seen Extreme and Warrant live and the others on bootleg video or cd, and they are crisp and on key. This is just my opinion on guitarists.

From: Reno Date: June 6, 2002 at 14:09
The funny thing about Nuno is the fact that he can't read a note of sheet music. He plays everything by ear. The guy is an incredible guitarist. He was once referred to as the Eddie Van Halen of the 90's in an interview I read.

From: TIM Date: June 6, 2002 at 14:17
Not criticizing, but I like a tad of sloppiness in the music. These guys that are technically proficient bore me. They play well, but they can't make their guitar 'sing.' I like someone that plays something very well but fun at the same time.

From: jason Date: June 6, 2002 at 17:05
2 on 1.......Reno & TIM, you two need one another to beat up on SkidMark? (PhD)Reno, you do get a little pick-E with grammar from time to time. You know what TIM, if it is a guitar player who can make his guitar 'sing' that you are looking for in this 'wonder group' Than maybe we need to add Frank Hannon to the list. He has it all when it comes to guitar. Electric, accustic & great slid work as well. YEP! I would pick Hannon for this group as one of the guitar players.

From: jason Date: June 6, 2002 at 17:10
Oops!..........I mean 'SLIDE'........ Holy shit am I going to get it from PhD Reno now!! TIM, another guitar player we could use is, Zakk Wylde. The only thig with Zakk is, he might steal the whole show from the rest of the group.

From: Ratt 1978 Date: June 14, 2002 at 8:50
Hey Dudes...Why are you arguing...Instead of putting each other down why don't you put down the shitty bands out there today like fucking Slipknot, Korn and System of a Down. There are only a handful of true rock fans in the world and we should not be alienating each other...we should be sticking together.

From: tman Date: June 19, 2002 at 15:52
This album rocks!!! One of the best melodic hard rock albums of all time. Very, very catchy songs. I don't think there is one song on this album that is not good. If fans of Danger Danger really want something to listen to. Find the ultra rare hard to find albums from a christian metal band Prophet(not to be confused with Messiah Prophet). Ted Poley was their drummer not their singer. My friend has both their tapes from the mid 80's.

From: Rick Date: June 20, 2002 at 4:57
Ted sings on two tracks for Prophet on their first CD, as well as being their drummer. He did not appear on their second release.

From: RichieRocker Date: June 22, 2002 at 11:35
One of the best 80s relaeses ever I love every song one this album, these are the most catchy beats I have heard in a long time all the musicians are talented and they really play their instruments very well. Grab it, its really worth it!!

From: dokken6008 Date: July 9, 2002 at 4:40
That 'grammar' lesson piss-fight was lame. I hope not to see very many of those on H.H. in the future.

From: Rockforever Date: July 24, 2002 at 10:44
Excuse me people, I've nothing really to say about the album, but how people can say Slash of Guns N' Roses (or ex) is not one of the most brilliant lead players of all time is astonishing. He may not have been as technical in his playing, but he had more soul and emotion in his playing than most other guitarists of the late-1980s.CC,Andy Timmons,Warren DeMartini (Ratt),and host of other hair players do not measure up to Slash.Slash is up there alongside Jimmy Page and Richie Blackmore. So there.

From: Bryan Date: July 28, 2002 at 1:51

From: TIM Date: August 8, 2002 at 23:19
Rockforever, Slash is among my fav's.

From: dokken6008 Date: August 9, 2002 at 5:58
Timmons is a very, very well educated technical guitar player. I love that stuff. On to the more bluesy, less technical players.... C.C. DeVille has little technique involved regarding his playing, whatsoever. But he does have distinctness. If I hear a guitar solo just out of the blue and it's C.C. playing, I'll know it's him. As for Warren, TOTAL blues, baby. Loved that guy. Him and Mick Mars may have not been that well educated, but they sure as hell sounded great. (continued)----

From: dokken6008 Date: August 9, 2002 at 6:01
----As far as your statements on Slash go....... You know, I love the guy and a good deal of the work he's done, but ol' Tracii of the L.A. Guns, is THE MAN, in my book. If the two were ever to play in a band together simultaneously (Tracii and Slash, that is), that would be sort of a dream come true. Hell, it would be awesome. Again, Tracii is still the man, in my opinion.

From: TIM Date: August 9, 2002 at 8:00
Tracii's great! I've about worn out my copy of Love, Peace, and Geese. I watch Rip And Tear over and over. Especially the intense solo he laid down.

From: dokken6008 Date: August 16, 2002 at 15:12
TIM-- It's nice to see another Tracii/L.A. Guns fan here on H.Harmonies. I think that you will be in for a treat when the Guns release 'Waking The Dead' in 4 days (August 20th, in the U.S.). I have owned an advanced promo copy of the cd for almost a month now, and it is easily the band's best since 'Hollywood Vampires'. The Gunses' new bassist, Adam Hamilton, brings a lot of new energy to the band. I'm urging you to buy it soonafter it is released. PEACEEEEEEEEEE!

From: TIM Date: August 16, 2002 at 15:51
Thanks for the recommendation dokken6008. By the way, I like Dokken too. Anyways, I'll give this cd a try. I'm broke at the moment- Ebay grabbed my arms and forced me to buy too many cds- LOL. Oh well, at least I can submit more for comment. There should be a whole herd coming through eventually.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 16, 2002 at 19:46
Their name is Danger Danger, they have songs called 'Bang Bang' and 'Naughty Naughty.' Over all they are CRAPY CRAPY.

From: RichieRocker Date: August 16, 2002 at 20:22
The name is a little different. But with either Ted or Paul they still rock!

From: Rick Date: August 16, 2002 at 21:40
Ted rocks, period. The three D2 CD's he was a part of are some of the best 80's rock you can find. End of story.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 16, 2002 at 21:47
Thank God that's the 'end of the story' because I didn't want to hear anymore about Danger Danger.

From: dokken6008 Date: August 17, 2002 at 4:49
j., what's up with you, man? D2 is just good pop-metal. Some of the finest to be heard in the latter decade of the 80's. Danger Danger never went soft on us either like too many bands have. Instead, they have progressively gotten harder and harder. Compare the self-titled disc to 'Cockroach'. Sometimes it's hard to believe it's even the same band. And TIM, I know what you mean about eBay. I have spent many-a-lazy-day putting up bids for old & of print cds. It WILL run your pockets dry.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 17, 2002 at 10:59
D-6008, do you really think that they got harder over the years? I know the songs 'Monkey Business' & 'Get Your Shit Together.' off the album Screw It are pretty mellow. I just don't think the singer has much of a voice and that is my problem with this band.

From: James Date: August 17, 2002 at 12:21
Hey Jason, yes they did get heavier over time. The band is split into two catagories, Ted fans and Paul fans. Kinda remind you of the van halen situation, sam or dave? that said i prefer Ted but the Paul led D2 has some good stuff also. maybe if you try a later album you might find somethng to catch your ear? who know's.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 18, 2002 at 0:01
You might be right because after Screw It I didn't pay any time to them. I will look into it. Thanks!

If you are one of the aforementioned 'Ted fans' check out Bone Machine and/or Melodica. Both feature Ted on vocals. A little hard to find, but with a little patience and a lot of WinMX I was able to find a fair amount of both. Bone Machine is a little harder but both are pretty commercial.

From: tonikki Date: August 20, 2002 at 14:19
their most melodick album .a masterpiece. if you like aor and melodick hard rock get it

From: CURT Date: August 21, 2002 at 20:30
D2 IS A KILLER BAND. THEIR MUSIC I THOUGHT WAS PRETTY DAMN GOOD AND AS FOR WHO IS THE BEST GUITARISTS, ALL OF THOSE GUYS HAVE HAD THEIR SHARE OF HITS, SOME MORE AND SOME LESS. THEY'VE ALL KICKED ASS A TIME OR TWO. I WILL AGREE THAT WARREN FROM RATT KICKS ASS AND ZAKK ALSO BUT SO DO ALOT OF OTHER PLAYERS LIKE TOM SCHOLZ, EDDIE, RANDY RHOADES, KIM MITCHELL AND THE LIST GOES ON.

No other group does a power ballad anywhere near as well as Dx2. 'nuf said.

From: Steve T Date: September 5, 2002 at 6:38
Never could get fully into this album. It was, to me, Bon Jovi lite by the numbers. Sleepwalking hard rock. It also suffered horribly at the hands of Lance Quinn....as did Bon Jovi....who in their right mind would let that man produce their albums? Solid enough I suppose and a good base to build on. But the band's best? Not for me...sorry dokken6008 but this is their least remarkable effort in my opinion

From: purrfect kat Date: September 5, 2002 at 7:31
now I disagree . . . This cd is classic Danger Danger and if anyone likes those 80's hair bands with the catchy tunes then don't pass this cd up cuz it's Great!!! . . . . I know some guys don't realize girls love to dance and when Ted poley sings Bang Bang and Turn It On . . etc . . (There is no way I can sit down for that) . . . If I was at their concert while they played them then I would be throwing my bra at Ted . . . lol . . Ted email me baby .

From: matter4 Date: September 10, 2002 at 0:08
Danger Danger might not have been blow your brains out heavy metal, however, as far as pure all-around musical talent is concerned, they had it all.

whoaa . . . . I was just reading this thread and I see a couple fights and another calling this band crappy (looks at Jason) . . . there is even someone using this band's music to get laid . . (shame on You) . . . . Danger Danger got no airplay in Canada that I am aware of and the record stores never sold any of their merchandise so I agree with whoever said this band should have been Huge. . . . It's unfortunate they had no clue how to promote and market themselves in other Countries.

Yes . . . I know many girls from 19 to 25. . . . I live with 5 now. . . . . Everytime we move around, I play Danger Danger at all the new places and I always have many ask . . Who the band was I was playing cuz they want to buy it. . . so not only do I sell cds online but I do it offline too. . . . . . Some bands just have something special about them and DD is one of them . . . Have You never crawled into the backseat with a girl while listening to Warrant? . . . . . Hair bands rule!!

From: Desslar Date: September 13, 2002 at 9:51
I'd be surprised if any of the girls I've dated have ever heard of Warrant. Linkin Park seems to be popular with the ladies these days.

From: purrfect-kat Date: September 13, 2002 at 10:55
Yes Desslar I agree that most of the younger crowd only listen to what they hear from the radio. . . . It's all about money and not talent anymore . . . . . They always target the younger crowd cuz they are the ones who spend the most, and if they don't have the money then they get mom or dad to buy it. . . If the radio stations here in Canada played 'Shake Me' by Crystal Ball then that song would go to number one on the charts within 4 weeks but they won't play it cuz the band don't kiss ass.

Hol-ee crap!! Leave the board for a month and the next thing I know the D2 board is picking up countless posts chalk full o' varying opinions. If you like lighter, keyboard/guitar-driven rock 'n' roll, check out Danger Danger's debut album. If not, go buy a God damn Motley Crue cd, for Christ's sake! If you're into the RATT and the Crue and the Guns 'n' Roses or whatever and that EXCLUSIVELY, look elsewhere! Winger fans might be disappointed though. D2 don't suck THAT bad.

From: purrfect-kat Date: September 15, 2002 at 3:57
. . . (crosses her arms and taps her foot on the floor and she glares at dokken) . . . . Danger Danger does Not suck in any way shape or form. . . . . . . . . (reaches out and grabs a hold of dokkens hair so she can make his head nod up and down) . . . . See You do agree!! . . . . . I rate them another 10 cuz I can.

i can't beleive no one mentioned reb beach as a known guitarist in this back and forth arguing match.danger danger rules and if people get their facts straight andy hardly did any work on the first album it was Tony Rey and there is a HUGE difference in playing from 1st to second album.Bottom line is that any of these guitarist's are better than anyone on these chat forums and no one has the right to call them shitty or sloppy. there i feel better.

Sorry, time to call a spade a spade. If this is even close to metal then ARXONTAS is a Rhodes Scholar! Danger Danger's first release is music to pull your fingernails out by. Instant IQ drop after one listen. I saw them live and they rocked, but this slab is shameful. 'Bang Bang'? What the...? Ted has perfected the Vince Neil nasal whine. Please provide earplugs to any young children who may be within earshot. To think, there's someone with this tape in their deck right now. Sad.

Danger Danger is awesome! 'Under the Gun' is an all-time melodic rock classic - the heavy keyboards can make or break a band and they definitely made these guys. Good consistent 80s rock. A shame there are no more bands like this around!

My least favorite of the DD albums. I really didn't like the production on this. I thought Screw It! and going forward they really nailed that end of it down. I like a bunch of the songs on here too, but the production just really doesn't do it justice. Plus I thought they needed to rock this up a bit, a little too light for my tastes.

From: Gar Date: December 14, 2003 at 16:46
Holy crap, there's a lot of comments on this one! Though I prefer 'Screw It', this is still a highly listenable album. It's got some really catchy tunes that stick with you for hours(which isn't always a good thing, like in the case of that Hansen song MMMMMMMBOP or whatever its called). Anyhow this is good stuff, though judging from the number of comments everybody already owns it anyway.

I'm sorry but I liked this album as well as Screw It! when I was a kid but to listen to them now makes me sick. Both albums were very good for their time but now they are very, very cheesey. I really hoped that they have got rid of that cheese now because they were one of my favourite bands when I was younger. I think that the keyboards had something to do with it. What ever happened to Kasey Smith anyway?

If this CD would have been released in 1986 instead of 1989, and D2 opened for Bon Jovi on the S.W.W. tour it would have sold two million copies... and I am not kidding! If the only track your're familiar with is NAUGHTY NAUGHTY then you're missing out, because that's the least memorable track on the entire album. One of the more overrated acts in this genre in my opinion is Ted Poley era Danger Danger. Sounding like a mix of Journey and Bon Jovi, they mix out some outstanding tunes such as 'Feels Like Love' and 'Under The Gun' with awful hair metal tunes such as any of the tunes on the album that have the title repeated. 5/10

From: Rocker76 Date: June 28, 2004 at 8:44
I have to disagree with Big Papa K. I thought Danger Danger's debut was a killer piece of hair metal. Considering the competition, I thought Danger Danger had one of the more appealing and accessible sounds, which was the goal for most of those bands. Naughty Naughty, Under the Gun, One Step From Paradise, Don't Walk Away, and Rock America are great pop metal songs. I can see where Big Papa K is coming from...but this is one my favorite CDs of that entire era of hard rock.

From: TIM (2) Date: June 28, 2004 at 10:32
For me they just never bettered this one. A DD 'best of' album would have at least 5 tracks from this, and a couple each from 'Screw It', '4 the Hard Way', and 'Cockroach', and nothing from the others. As good as any Bon Jovi album, and the only time they ever really touched on being AOR, this is a straight 10/10.

If you like hair bands from the late 80s...all the stuff from Poison, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, then you should love Danger Danger. These guys are every bit as good as Bon Jovi and much better as far as I'm concerned. They really should have had much more recognition than they did. Debut album with 0 bad songs...that's right...0. I don't think you could consider anything from this album to be 'filler.' Very solid, guitar driven with great vocals from Ted Poley. I'm so glad to hear that he's back wi

From: Kip Date: September 1, 2004 at 23:37
This album is awesome. It's some of the most melodic AOR in my collection. People like to comepare them to early Bon Jovi, but the truth is, they really have their own distinct sound. Highlights include Bang Bang, Naughty Naughty, Feels Like Love, One Step From Paradise, Don't Walk Away, and my favorite track, Under The Gun. The other songs are also very good, and it's hard to point to any track and call it filler, they just pale in comparison from the awesome songs. 9.5/10

From: Geoff Date: September 6, 2004 at 20:36
Simply put, this is melodic / commercial rock heaven. Perfect vocals and simply awesome songs. 'Bang Bang', 'Rock America' and 'Feels like love' should have made this band as big as Bon Jovi as they are all gems! 'Don't walk away' is to this day one of my favourite ballads ever. 'Naughty naughty','Boys will be boys' and 'One step from paradise' are all awesome too... as is 'Turn it on' and 'Under the gun'. F*ck only 2 fillers - this is a sensational CD!!! Again I mention the awesome vocals!!!

From: BWH'Indonesia' Date: September 8, 2004 at 4:34
I heard an 80's song (can't remember the title) which got a very very similar guitar solo with that on the DD's 'One Step From Paradise'. Maybe one of you have an idea of what and whose song it was ?

From: jack Date: September 8, 2004 at 5:39
Great debut releases though a bit poppy-better than their screw it album where they sound like a bunch of warrant rip-off. This is one is no different except the keyboards are more present and more emphasize are put on kasey whereas the screw it album more on timmoms's guitars. This album is also somewhat lighter. I think they are more warrant or poison than bon jovi. Dangerdanger's music is more playful while their song name is quite similar to the type of song name that warrant used.

Pretty good cd like all the stuff above says, but the stand out in this band is Andy Timmons. He is one of those forgotten guitar players poeple forget,he is incredible.Dont take my word for it find his release EAR-X-STACY and make your own mind up

Totally agree with you but it was actually Tony Rey who played most of these guitarparts...Andy only appeared on 2-3 songs.

finally getting to this one, I loved aor.metal bands and this is one of the best. Bang Bang, Naughty, Under the Gun, Feels Like Love. Some great melodies and wonderful chorus's and vocals, with just a touch of keys, one of the greats!!!

From: Aussie Dave Date: March 23, 2005 at 16:30
This was a great AOR/rock album in it's day! The only question mark next to this album is that it has dated a bit! The sound on the next album Screw It sounds a lot better today than this debut! But back in 89 this was a killer cd. A big time party feel to it, with songs like Saturday Nite, Bang Bang, Rock America and Naughty Naughty! The ballads are cool, but are probably the weakest part of the album! Feels Like Love and Under The Gun are classic moments! Fantastic debut. 9.5/10....

Saw d remarks about great guitarists & was again very intrigue about this Stevie Blaze. Have to admit haven't heard of Lillian Axe but I saw his name on several polls. He must be THAT good. As well as Diglio. Is he as good as Timmons? About J. Allen, F. Hannon, W. DeMartini I don't think so. But Timmons really do belong to this list: Vai, S. Lynch, G. Lynch, Takasaki, Malmsteen, Rhoads, Bratta, Skolnik, Frigo, Beach, Nuno, Campbell. If I haven't mention anyone you think is as good, let me know.

Well i am on a role. So why not. Yep another classic rockers. Teds finest hour ( altho Screw it IMO is ....ing awesome also ). Cant even pick a song that stands out. All songs have quality written all over them. Perfection ! 9,8/10

From: Tim Date: July 29, 2005 at 0:06
Ted Poley has a great 'rock voice' for certain, but as I'm watching a live video from 1990, it's Andy Timmon's stunning axework that is drawing my attention. This guy would destroy most competition on this site. Extremely fast, but more interesting than Malmsteen IMO. I just love this album period! Fun tunes and great musicianship. Rating: 9.7

From: Erik Date: July 29, 2005 at 13:54
Agreed Tim. For me their absolute finest hour. Together with Hardline's - Double Eclipse this is the TOP of melodic rock. And on a personal note i would like to add China with Sign in the Sky and Great King Rat with Great King Rat to this list also. PS The list is longer tho

How can one not love this??? Naughty Naughty, Saturday Nite, Bang Bang, Boys will be boys, Feels like love.....totally killer! Ted's got one helluva voice, and IMO the stunning keyz on this album is one of the reasons it's so f'n amazing. Although they went for a more hard rock feel on 'Screw It' that album totally kicks ass too!

Warning: playing this CD may cause you to explode from an overdose of listening pleasure. How this band failed to be as big as Bon Jovi is one of pop-metal's strangest mysteries, because they had the hooks, the looks, the sound...heck, they had it all! Sure, production could've been beefier and the whole album would have been improved by having a bit more bite (something they rectified on subsequent releases), but those are very minor complaints when talking about a masterpiece of this caliber.

From: sanxdowntherainbow Date: February 6, 2007 at 18:43
One of the coolest cd's from '89. IMO it's like a cross between Hard rock and AOR. Enough guitars to satisfy any Glam/hard rock Fan (Fans of FIREHOUSE,XYZ,CRY WOLF,BABYLON A.D,SLAUGHTER) and enough keyboards for AOR fans (FM,DARE,AVIATOR). If you're into any of these genres, you'll love this one! 10/10

Is it just me or does the group photo of the band members look like Downs-syndrome D2? From the band that delivered every thing in pairs.(D2,Naughty-2,Bang-2,).Once was enough for me as I rolled my eyes when ever 'Bang Bang' appeared on MTV. Tad Pole-y IMO was a small fish in a big pond and was the weak link in D2. Timmons was/is a excellent guitarist but with Poley's very limited range pipes(nasal drone)and poor stage persona(mime's the lyrics)the band had limited success. The S/T went Gold I recall and 'Screw it' went LEAD. From comments on this site you would think classic D2 where the Zeppelin of pop metal with their place in rock history? I think not, IMO this band would have been bigger if Paul Laine was at the helm to begin with. His singing ability is light years beyond Poley and I believe he would have cut a few slices off the cheese laden lyrics. 'Under the Gun' 'Beat the bullet' are good songs but with Paul on vox they become great. Exhibit A: # rating for DD Live & Nude.

They are extrememly talented and IMO one of the best bands to come out of that era. I had the pleasure of seeing them live in 1990 on KISS' Hot In The Shade tour and they were outstanding. I can't say enough good things about them.

To bad these guys could not have stuck with the sound they created for the song Under The Gun. That is a fantastic song. Everything else is just the same ol' stuff from that era. Just like Warrant. Uncle Toms Cabin kicks ass, the rest is just boring. Compare any of this stuff to Whitesnake's 1987 and you will say Danger who? Just my two cents.

for me this absolute masterpiece is the best american hard melodic rock record ever (with the first bon jovi s records).welcome in a o r heaven.it s very simple eleven songs on this cd eleven hits!!!!all is perfect the voice of ted poley ,the melodies, the verses, the bridges, the choruses, the production, the variety of the different songs.four exceptional aor songs,a super ballad and the rest is more hard with super guitars of the master andy timmons.i never do like my friend rick from venezuela i never put mark on a record (it s too difficult for me ) but here it s very easy no hesitation it s 100/100!!!!!!!no bonus track on the japan import.one of the best hard rock record ever.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 27, 2013 at 16:18
Hey charpenay123 rates don't mean that you have to agree or disagree with, when i usually listen to an album i marked it with a pre determined rate so when i write a comment and i write the rate i can compare with the "average rating" mode to see if i am more or less in the same position or different from the rest of the people who has rated it before ...cheers mate!!!...and be careful with a couple of guys(one of them whose pseudo name starts with a capital M,have already had a " stupid incovenience" with you because of your "broken english",thanks God you answered him back)that from time to time write down comments just in order to disagree in a rude way to other's comments...

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: February 27, 2013 at 18:52
It's interesting the way this disc has grown in stature over the years. When it came out, it really didn't make that much of a splash. A couple videos on MTV, but not in heavy rotation, and modest sales. The band really weren't taken very seriously at the time, seen more as just another come-lately, lightweight hair-band with a stupid name. At some point, the melodic rock/AOR crowd adopted this, and now hold this disc as one of the crown jewels of the genre. For me, it has some fun songs on it, but overall, a little too light and fluffy for my tastes.

From: 123charpenay Date: February 28, 2013 at 12:41
hi rick thanx for your comments and your advice.i m very surprised .my english is not perfect that s wright but i make the effort to write my comments in the international language.i could write in french, it could be very easy but what is the interest if nobody understand what i write.even if my english is "broken" i am sure to all people understand my feeling about the different cd s i comment.i don t want any problem with nobody.i respect all people of this site and all the comments.it s natural that we have not the same feeling about a record otherwise we will be some robots.

Amazing AOR/melodic rock album from '89! Early on, Ted had a quite good range. Bruno & Steve are monster songwriters. TONY REY (who was also in Saraya) plays almost all guitars on this debut, and he does it brilliantly! Rey also played on Four the hard way and Gildersleeves, as well as toured with the band until they found their brilliant younger talent Rob Marcello. Also love "Live & Nude", these songs sound killer also with Paul & Marcello in the band! (Today Paul is way better than Ted, whose range is flat). Paul is too good to be true. I was stunned hearing how he can still sing very powerfully at 49 (The Defiants). Stick it in your ear and Danger Danger debut are both true winners.
