Right. This is THE album - my alltime personal favorite. Hard to describe, but a hard rock Duran Duran wouldn't be that far off. The trouble iv'e had trying to get this on cd.HI Tech Canadian a.o.r with not a bad track in sight, top production, top playing, and generally top everything. Alfie is a complete star on this one. The follow up album A-Z was top notch aswell but not yet released on cd as far as i know . Most of the songs from both albums can be found on the Over 60 minutes with...compi

I still love "Spread Myself Too Thin"; truly Canadian sounding.

It's difficult for me to categorize the music on display here as Zappacosta did have an individual sound, although I guess the nearest reference point would be high tech AOR.

zappacosta is great music. listen to the compilation of the first two albums (zappacosta and a-z).songs like "nothing could stand in your way,it`s all been done before, another mans gain" are outstanding. as a matter of fact the hole album is amazingly good. BUY IT !!!!!

I haven't been able to find this or any other decent Zappacosta album. I bought for a dollar a thing called "Innocence Ballet", and God if I feel riped off. It is not AOR, not pop, not rock, not anything. It's like restaurant music with opera, awful!!!!!!!!! Hope the other albums are good enough to make it up for this one, and they have to score some major extra points to do that!!!

Freaky - The Zappacosta debut album is still my favourite of all time - so i'm afraid i have to totally disagree with you there (what a surprise) - nothing will change that. I have lived with this album for 20 years and it still has the same impact on me now as when i first heard it (Just as you do with your Legs Diamond, Y&T, Survivor albums etc)so i'm sure you can appreciate what i mean. This is most definately not poor as you say. Class is class, and this has it by the bucketload in every dep

Don't get me wrong, Jez ! If you like it, fine ! Personally, Zappacosta does nothing at all for me. Question of taste ! I can name thousands of records far better than Zappacosta ever did. But this is only MY opinion ! Cheers !!!

I was totally blown away by this. I picked it up fairly recently on the back of the comments posted here, along with the "Quick..." album (which is nowhere near as good) and I love it. Very reminiscent of Marc Jordan (one of my all-time faves) this is truly great stuff and a very consistent album. 9/10.

shame on me!for not getting this when it came out back in '84...well you see there are so many albums coming out every year that you cant afford them all so unfortunately sometimes you put your money on the wrong ones and when you want to get the good ones you end up finding out that theyre out of print;and this is very much the case that happened to me with zappacosta.thank god for reissues!.just like tim i was totally blown away too...i love every bloody minute of it!...classic? you bet!!!.

No es mi lata de Coca-cola bastante flojo en ambos sentidos.

From: caritosmatanza Date: January 27, 2006 at 9:04

From: prism46 Date: January 11, 2007 at 17:39
one of the greatest aor albums of all time, every home should have a copy.i must admit i wasnt keen on innocence ballet on first hearing but now i think its pure class.his new cd start again is proving quite hard to find at a decent price.
