From: David Date: October 31, 2003 at 6:41
Can someone please tell me wheather this is a female singer or a male? Thankyou.

From: Ralfster Date: November 26, 2003 at 5:58
It's a male one! Cheers!

From: DEX Date: December 25, 2003 at 4:08
Sam blue went onto to sing vocals for sampson in the uk in the 90's known sam for along time was also in a band called Emerson who released 1 single aor called something special. / stars in hollywood on neat records........uk

From: dannyrock Date: February 1, 2004 at 16:03
they are great perfect musicianly guys this album its a must found one.thanks

From: Calum Walker Date: February 9, 2004 at 11:13
I actually work with Ray Calcutt at the moment, it is at mel-tone music shop in Melton Mowbray Leicester and he is a kick ass lead guitarist who is still playing well.

From: rocketron Date: April 7, 2004 at 10:16
Good catchy Pop/AOR.'Julia' really rocks.

From: Paul Date: May 11, 2004 at 12:29
I knew Ray Calcutt back in the 80's. The original ya ya's lead vocalist was a guy called Lee Hart who has since vanished from the music scene. There first single was called don't talk

From: Gar Date: May 14, 2004 at 13:29
Lea Hart is still in the music business. In recent years he put together tribute albums for Whitesnake, UFO, Thin Lizzy and several others. Also he is the manager of former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno.

From: Vrob71 Date: May 17, 2004 at 15:52
One of the greatest AOR albums. Perfect. Unfortunately very hard to find. 9.5/10 Regards!

From: TIM (2) Date: May 26, 2004 at 14:28
I love this, but only have a tape copy and would love the CD. Have never seen one auctioned on eBay but will keep my fingers-crossed one appears soon... Didn't Sam Blue sing for GLR (think this was their name?) too? Don't think that was much good though...

From: madison Date: July 11, 2004 at 9:58
Saw this band live supporting Queen's Roger Taylor. Good musicianship, great songs. They did huge tour of Russia at end of 80's, met one of the road crew who gave me a bootleg tape. Sound quality not great but playing is even better than on CD. Sounds like they added a sax player along the way.

From: TIM (2) Date: July 12, 2004 at 4:38
I know this has been going for very high eBay prices lately, but you can get it through Amazon.com (as I did) for about $15, which is a bargain for this class album. If you love FM's 'Indiscreet' you'll love this...

From: jessica96fish Date: July 30, 2004 at 15:32
your right dave.i shouldn't take no notice.of some one whos got a screw loose.still great cd though.

From: vandervelde Date: November 26, 2004 at 9:25
An all time classic!!...if you like your aor in vein of FM, Strangeways get it now!!

From: Axe Machine Date: November 28, 2004 at 16:10
Like FM without the catalog. Caught in a Lie and Julia however are classic songs which should have been huge. Rare, but well worth tracking down. Reccomended

From: Date: January 26, 2005 at 11:03
These are the guys that did the song 'Are You Ready' on the Revenge Of The Nerds soundtrack. Great song.

Quality AOR release, typical of the late 80's soundwise (Outside Edge, FM, Virginia Wolf etc). Good songs, good production (Wotty), and a great vocalist in Sam Blue. 'Julia' is a great song, with it's dutdut keys we all love. Getting hard to find, so if you see, it blag it straight away.

From: AOR freaky Date: January 31, 2005 at 9:53
Underrated AOR indeed. Not as good as the mentioned bands by Jez, but still very enjoyable ! Good one !

From: Wotty Date: January 31, 2005 at 9:56
Is that Sam Blue who made an album with Vinny Burns a little while ago ?? I hope so,I've much to learn !!!

From: Jez Date: January 31, 2005 at 10:12
Wotty - yes the same man!!!

From: ace66 Date: February 17, 2005 at 4:32
This is another cd that I'm looking for.Clean and good hooklines.

From: Wotty Date: March 3, 2005 at 5:35
I've not had this cd very long, but if you're having an 80s A.O.R. day this cd should be on the playlist.Harmonies,hook-lines and quality songs make up an excellent album.....

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: March 23, 2005 at 0:47
Yeahhh boys, this a classic AOR album, in the vein of FM, Strangeways or Stan Meissner, esto para hacerse una idea en que linea va la banda, en algunos temas se parecen a los mencionados, tremendos temazos Caught in a Lie, Julia (my favorites), All Through the Night(que teclados MAGICOS), You're All I Need, Love in Vain otro tremendo album IMPRESCINDIBLE en tu coleccion. Saludos desde Santiago-Ica-Peru.

From: Nick C Date: June 17, 2005 at 12:38
Haven't heard this one I have to say. I have the 1st Ya Ya LP on vinyl with Lea Hart as vocalist but it's in my 'upstairs in a pile' part of my albums which means although I don't term it as part of my collection it's maybe too good to get rid of. Like a halfway house for albums n stuff. I'll play it again and decide .. maybe judging on some of the comments here I should give it another try...Hey it might even get promoted back into the main collection!

From: The Dolphin Date: October 10, 2005 at 15:57
3 TRACKS MAKE THIS ALBUM WONDERFUL:CAUGHT IN A LIE,JULIA,YOU'RE ALL I NEED.BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: SCANDI Date: November 21, 2005 at 13:32
In danger that no-one will take me for serious no more I must admit that this is quite boring stuff Of course 'Caught in a lie' is up with the best songs of LIONHEART or OUTSIDE EDGE. The rest more or less just has no kick to it. No great riffs or hooks at all, terrible voice. --I'm no great buiznezz man 'cos I still have mine for sale ....Still decent.... 8/10

From: z4roxx Date: August 27, 2006 at 10:10
Wow!trade this one with a friend of mine, what a great deal to me!Fantastic English aor and one of my fave bands in that genre.Stunning and solid production for the year, great vox, awesome hooks and catchy keys, really a big quantity of total killer moments.A must indeed.9,5/10.I hope someone will press on cd their'scarred'debut asap'.

From: z4roxx Date: November 3, 2006 at 12:55
I must add it's one of the best bands ever heard in aor.Songs like'Caught in a lie','Fear of flying','Julia'and the mega killer'All through the night'cancel many bands IMO.This is the true aor

From: aorteto Date: November 27, 2006 at 20:13
Beautiful CD, classic AOR from UK. WHEN THE WORLD CRIED is one the best songs ever, really melodic and catchy. There`s no fillers in sight. A must.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: December 1, 2006 at 20:10
This album is so awesome that everytime i listen to it is like a brand new release. It's timeless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.I bought the vynil just when it came out.10/10

From: Swazi Date: May 29, 2007 at 11:52

From: darobinson Date: May 31, 2007 at 18:52

From: vrobec Date: January 7, 2008 at 5:46
Pure AOR madness! Beautiful songs worth the higher price. Regards!

From: lalo r.o.c.k. Date: April 22, 2008 at 15:34
Awesome, wonderful, full with melodics hooks and guitars that blows you away, the 1st song remembers me 'Til the end' from TOTO's Fahrenheit,When the world cried and Julia are the highlights for me,esential for AOR lovers, 9/10.

From: steve_perry Date: April 27, 2008 at 9:32
HI Great album..anyone whoa has this one on cd...i really like to buy it....cheers Nille nillewester666@hotmail.com

From: aor4sale Date: August 24, 2009 at 8:42
Truly excellent Brit AOR that is just begging for a re-issue (with possible bonus tracks). This is a must for any AOR fan into Shy, Tobruk, Strangeways, Shogun etc. They did another release earlier in the 80's called 'Scarred' which is not as good as this (IMO - and never officially released on CD - yet) which also had tracks featured in the 'Revenge Of The Nerds' OST (which was released on CD but quite a rarity now).

From: qwest Date: November 17, 2009 at 13:53
All time classic. They got a special style in AOR.U can't compare them to anyone..Outstanding British kind.

From: kenneth5005 Date: June 13, 2012 at 16:38
I actually own a cd copy of the Scarred album. Found it on ebay 5 years ago but have never seen it anywhere since. If anyone wants I can burn off a cd-r copy of it for like 6 US dollars. That would include the artwork and even the Japanese lp promo artwork which is way different(and better) than the common version. Let me know at markblum@mail.com.

From: alex_5150 Date: November 15, 2012 at 11:47
Actually Sam Blue sounds very similar to Lea hart... I agree with everything has been said.. Great AOR CD... Caught in a lie and Julia are true AOR gems

From: Reverend Mayhem Date: January 28, 2013 at 11:26
If anyone can give a valid reason as to why the hell you'd name a band "Ya Ya," I'd love to hear it, because that's one of the few marks against this otherwise excellent group. I mean, WTF? Regardless, this album is about as clean and smooth as they come, full-bore '80s AOR very well done. To me it's the British counterpart to anything Toto ever put out, better on the whole than the (overrated) "Toto IV," though bearing a lot of resemblance to that album: plenty of synth pad keys, piano, mildly distorted guitar, harmonies, '80s drum sound. Nothing really aggressive, just safe, radio-friendly adult pop/rock. Nice lead vocals, but nothing outstanding -- competent musicians all-around. If you dig Toto at their commercial height, this album is right up your alley, especially if you can overlook that damn name. 85 / 100

From: alex_5150 Date: April 12, 2013 at 19:54
I agree with everybody. Beautiful AOR.. I get kind of sad these guys weren't big, they deserved it!!! 100/100 score... My personal favorites are Caught in a Lie, When The World Cried, Julia and The toughest race (magnificent ballad!). As somebody said, Sam Blue sings very similar as Lea Hart, I actually thought it was Lea!... This CD holds a very special place in my collection.. I would love to see ROCK CANDY records remastering this!!! Come on!
