I thought this was a decent Yngwie album, I actually got through the whole tape, w/o being bored.

This is the 2nd and final (so far) outing for Goran Edman who is a fave of mine. This disc lacks the fluid motion of "Eclipse" but this is a fine disc nonetheless. "Dragonfly", "How Many Miles To Babylon", and "Cry No More" are the standouts on this disc. I recommend this disc but it is not a must own.

Blame for the "leather and screaming guitars" one-dimensional, outsiders view of rock and metal rests solely on the shoulders of Wingy Malmsteen and his falling farts. Hard to cope with.

Guitarist whom some hate and some love. Maybe his attitude has something to do with it?? Either love or hate you can't his ability to play the Stratocaster. I used to think growing up that Page,Blackmore & Hendrix were top dogs but(don't get me wrong they are great)Malmsteen can outplay them anyday of the week. Therefore any Malmsteen release has something special to listen to for the listener.

This CD rocks. "Dragonfly" and "Final Curtain" are my faves on this disc. Yngwie's playing is not as great as on earlier discs but it rocks anyway.

Poetry is musical motion. Beautiful songwriting with a more classical bent than "Eclipse". Edman was in fine form and can be heard in his full glory on here.

A singer who lasts more than one Yngwie album? Proof that Goran Edman is the MAN! Not only can he sing but he can work side by side with one of the largest egos in the known universe.

I think itīs cool that Malmsteen is into real classical music and arranges some of it for his band, but it annoys me that he is so slack about mentioning the real composer. Yeah, he mentiones a lot of composers in the album sleeve in general, but never in the song info details. Iīm a classical musician but enjoy hard rock very much and it bites me that listening to Y.M. I recognise a piece of music that has been written by someone else a 100 years ago, but Yngwie takes the credit to himself.

Sometimes I like to listen this but mostly I chanced before it ends. No masterpieces incl. but not too bad to buy it.

This is the next of my "want to buy cd's list". How is the sound on this one? Does this sound like his songs from the 80's? Peace...

To 80's freak: the sound and production here is really weak and thin, as goes for the vox....

Thanks, Motley. I'm into JUDAS PRIEST right now. Not saying that I erased Yngwie's albums from the list, but HEAVY METAL equals POWER!! Gotta listen some sound samples of this one before I buy it. To be sure if it's worth buying... But Yngwie remains as my top 5th favorite guitar player.

first of all, i disagree with the above comment, halford cant sing? ya right! halford was one of the premier vocalist of the 70's and 80's in metal, now with that said, fire and ice was a good album by yngwie but lacked the balls to push it over the edge, it is however one of my favorite malmsteen records because the songs are pretty good and as always the solo's f*cking shred

Might be an okay album, but I can't stand this guy's voice. If Soto or Joe Lynn would have been the singer it would be a better record. I listened to it a few times and put it away. Anybody want it? onemorecast2000, yahoo IM.

Disagree with you, Rycheage. Yngwie's playing is spot on, misses no beat, refuses to slow down. Excellent musical marksman. This disc proves that.

This is probably the worst of all Yngwie releases I've heard. Had to seel this asap once I heard it. I burnt 'Teaser' onto a disc as it's a pretty cool (though very banal) track, but just so out of place it's not funny. Very un-Yngwie and not in line with any other material on this very poor, IMO, album. Big thumbs down.

An album that takes some time to grow into liking but after a while, there are a handful of gems that surface. Goran Edman is a fine professional vocalist & does nothing but enhance the quality of the music presented here.

It's probably I don't remember so well his other releases(too much material to hear)but this one impressed me and maybe is among my faves. The only negative point as always is about voice,in some parts is horrible, personally the level of this singer is very low everywhere he sings...

Cool album cover; more mature/classier than his previous one with Goran Edmund on vocals. Filled with better songs too. The rating here seems a little low; I rate 90/100. Fave picks off this one are 3, 6, 9, 10, 11. He's also on Elektra records and this CD sounds pretty good production wise.

pretty good release by MALMSTEEN ,but that seemed like a step back from the wonderful Eclipse!Yngwie &Goran are still delivering good songs and a cool sound ,but not any big hits and hooks!"teaser","all i want is everything","fire and ice" are the best among many good ones!if you like Yngwie ,you ll be satisfied

For me this is just a decent album with Yngwie showing as usual his guitar skills but the songs aren't in my personal opinion as consistent as in other releases...tracks 2,3,5(nice),6,9,10 & 12 are fine, they'll go into my book somehow .85/100

One of his best albums. Got it when it came out and played it to death. Today I still revisit it regularly.
