When will Yngwie realize that he can't write good songs and that he needs a good singer in his band. I gave up on Yngwie after the 'Eclipse' album. In my opinion 'Odyssey' was clearly his best album. Releasing albums with bad vocals and songs with no melody has been his trademark the last 4-5 albums. The singer on the Attack album sound the same as the one before...

From: Janne Date: January 28, 2003 at 16:42
I agree with Swede. This album didn't do dick for me...

From: phryque Date: March 27, 2003 at 20:15
not agreeing at all. This is a typical, goodrocking Yngve-album. Valhalla and Baroque 'n Roll should be on his next best-of-the-best album!

From: Motley Date: April 5, 2003 at 22:34
The best thing about Yngwie is that he never changed his style ever and just continued on doing what he does best. But this one os a bit too far I must admit.....The Vox is far from the best and the drumming couldve been better....all respect to the majestic master of multi melodies but I really cant figure this one out...too much of that scala race...

From: CHIRO Date: April 8, 2003 at 21:56
C'MON MAN DON'T BE SO BLIND...PLEASE!!!!!! DON'T YOU TELL ME THIS ALBUM ROCKS..... THIS IS CRAP...SHIT... PLEASE YNGWIE IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO MAKE AN ALBUM LIKE YOUR LAST 3 JUST GET RETIRED......CAUSE IF YOU MAKE IT YOU WILL START TO LOSE ALL THE RESPECT I GOT FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Mike Date: June 24, 2003 at 13:58
O.k. folks, don't be too harsh on Yngwie. We all would love to play guitar like he does!! My only question is: "There are sooooo many good singers and songwriters out there; can't he find them?" Maybe his ego will calm down, so that one day he might be willing to work with a good songwriter and singer. HE IS STILL ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE GUITARISTS IN ROCK MUSIC!!

From: Andersson Date: July 29, 2003 at 14:56
I do not agree with anyone above!!! "Attack" is a GREAT album and probably one of the maestros best ever!! Songs like; "Valhalla", "Ship of fools", "Razor eater", In the name of God", "Valley of kings" etc. are great compositions!! Doogie White (Vocalist) sounds better than ever and does NOT sound like the one before (Mark Boals)!! WAKE UP PEOPLE and buy this great album, it rules!! Yngwie is a great musician and songwriter. I have to admit that the album before this one (WTEAW)made me sad!!!

From: RR-Finland Date: August 28, 2003 at 9:00
Yngwie lost it somehow. This is better than War album and same kind of stuff what you can hear on Alchemy. Even cover art doesnīt give you satisfaction.

From: swedish meatbal Date: November 9, 2003 at 21:21
Andersson, What are you listening to? Yngwie is a mess. this cd has shit production and then some. Many music sites have said more on this cd but who cares? This cd sucks due to him writing making almost every ballad sound the same as well as every rocker and not to mention his guitar licks are all the same evry album of his career. One guy helped him change all that and it was a change "Odyssey" did that mnn where is that?

From: Ray Date: November 26, 2003 at 0:53
This is a great Yngwie disc. Hot, fast, melodic, classical licks as always. Seems the rythm for his songs (and well......the leads also) gets faster through the years and cd's. Has excellent musicians as always. Dougie White does a good job on vocals and keeps the Yngwie tradition going. Keep it up Yngwie. The production is thankfully better than his last CD, which there was no excuse for that production, considering Yngwie is a millionare...........jesus. Production could have been a little bet

From: Ray Date: November 26, 2003 at 0:56
As I was saying..............the production could have been a little better on this one also.

From: Harvey Date: November 26, 2003 at 18:00
Baroque and roll? Surely the worst track title ever. Very funny. Shred the album though...Malmsteen is why Nirvana got angry and wrote Smells Like Teen Spirit.

From: MADMAX Date: December 12, 2003 at 23:21
I agree with Andersson here. Amaaaaaazing album from Yngwie, again!

From: Date: December 23, 2003 at 14:45
I agree that this isn't his strongest CD. To say that this CD sucks is ridiculous, the vocals and production aren't the best. Yngwie has tons of songs that aren't that strong, you kind of sit and wait for the guitar solos. Of course his riffage and licks are similar to everything he's ever done because that's his style, You don't hear ppl saying "That Eddie Van Halen and his tapping" so why does Yngwie get grief, because he's that good. That's why!

From: nattferd Date: February 2, 2004 at 7:48
i am from italy.i love yngwie's style.i listen to his music since 1989.i am going to buy this latest of course.i heard it in ma shop and it sounds reall good.better than the previous with fantastic sounds and lovely songs.singer makes me going back to marching out\trilogy era.nowadays my favourites are him, tiamat, sentenced but y.j.is always the reason why i love music togheter with hard rock icons europe.he plays with heart and the classical touch and feeling is unique!totally!wake up guys he is

From: Jay Date: April 14, 2004 at 16:41
I have always been an yngwie fan and will always be. he got me started playing guitar seriously back in 84, this album isnt close to his best work, actually the last few albums havent been, nothing like the first few anyway, but nonetheless, he is still a m*therf*cker to see live in concert no matter what songs he is playing

From: quini Date: April 29, 2004 at 15:33
more melodic than the previous job, better production, and several goods songs, maybe D. white isnīt fantastic but is Ok. 8/10

From: Dean Date: May 8, 2004 at 12:05
Even though i like Doogie White's vocals better on the Cornerstone disc, I still think he fits this album perfectly. I know I'm in the minority here but i love this disc. IMO- it's heavier and stays away from his bland as hell commercial attempts like Eclipse. My only complaint about this disc is the cover. WTF? That cover has to be one of the worst ever. Must have lost a bet or something.

From: Mat Rock Date: July 29, 2004 at 9:41

From: Blue Charvel Date: July 29, 2004 at 10:42
LAH? wtf does that mean? Is it good? Hey Dean, I like this too, always liked YJM. The cover does suck though... must be on a low budget...

From: CHIRO Date: October 3, 2004 at 18:33
I LOVE YNGWIE'S MUSIC...BUT I'M NOT BLIND....ODISSEY ROCKS..7 SIGN ROCKS..FACING THE ANIMAL ROCKS...THIS ONE DON'T...ARE THE SAME SONGS OF THE PREVIOUS ALBUM WITH OTHER LYRICS....I THINK YNGWIE GET TO THE NO IDEA ERA

From: Jam Date: November 23, 2004 at 7:06
I Like This Album

From: Propane Date: December 2, 2004 at 22:33
Attack lacks NOTHING. Another in an endless string of wonderful jewels. Nice and heavy, no compromise. Does Razor eater not kick ass majorly!? I like throat, percussion, Ivories, axe, bass. I even dig the cover art. So I rest my case.

From: MadMax Date: June 15, 2005 at 8:54
I can see here some people that haven't even tried to listen this album, according to their comments. Well, Yngwie is not any easy listening party metal, it takes few listens to get into. Attack! is definately one of Yngwies best albums, of course that is a matter of taste which u like best, but i just don't get why so many people criticize his music without really listening to it. Comparing to Satriani, Vai, Eddie VH, Petrucci..hah! Lacks are on their side. For the record, I like 'em all too.

From: Remastered Reason Date: February 3, 2006 at 21:47
Doogie White is simply not a good singer. No apologies necessary. Though he tries his best Dio impersonation, he just doesn't cut it. This sounds like some second rate Rainbow cover band that got a few cents & recorded their first album. As for the songs themselves, they are just horrible. Not even Malmsteen's reliable shred could save this atrocity.

From: Buitre Date: November 28, 2007 at 7:55
I think I've listened to each and every one of his cd's but I've only bought the first 4 (...and a complete disaster called Inspirations...)In my opinion he needs a real band it's too focused on his incredible skill of playing fast, faster, and even faster "than the speed of light???" Then I've saw him live a coupple of years ago (with Dougy White on vocals) and I'm sorry to say that he behaves like a complete asshole on stage. To many Ferraris & Rolex and Strats seem to afected the EGO.

From: Japangea Date: December 6, 2008 at 1:05
Funny Dougie White's coice is quite similar to Biff from Saxon.

From: metalhead4life Date: December 16, 2008 at 11:26
Production not very good on this one either but there's some good songs, especially "Ship Of Fools". Dougie White does a good job on vocals though he's probably my least favorite Yngwie singer.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 2, 2012 at 17:00
For me this album has some ups and downs but still it kicks heads off!!!...Ingwie showing once more why he is considered one of the top guitar players in the world, the man is a demon of the strings!!!..."Rise Up","Ship Of Fools","Attack!"(rocks good!),"Baroque And Roll"(great instrumental song),"In The Name Of God","Touch The Sky" & "Iron Clad" are my faves...recommended...88/100

From: i****i Date: January 31, 2019 at 15:36
I like the tracks Attack!, Valhalla. The rest are ok. I'm fan of Doogie vocals. Try it Buy it.
