From: David Date: August 20, 2002 at 0:36
Yeh TIM, I really liked it, but it took me a while to get into.

I remember when this came out and seeing them on the tour about 8 times. I thought they were a mega band that could have been huge but it screwed up on them after signing to Virgin. Hmmmm..... I remember a lot of Aussie bands at the time suffered the same fate after joining that lable. A curse maybe?.....

From: Allan Date: January 16, 2003 at 8:35
Where can i bye it, i´m living in Denmark. Please help me !!!

From: Tom Date: April 8, 2003 at 14:55
They were a great live band, especially with Mark Easton out front. If all you heard was the CD you'd think they were some crappy garage band but they were heaps better than that, this cd didn't do much for them. The production was crap and they had lots of better songs from the earlier lineups which never made the album ???

From: Benn Date: June 27, 2003 at 0:44
I really liked this album. Good rockin' sleaze! Plus, the cd came with free stikkaz!

From: glam_junkie Date: June 22, 2004 at 5:59
faster pussycat meets early skid row. great stuff!

From: jack Date: July 20, 2004 at 1:06
CAndy harlot sucks and a disgrace to my home country!AC/DC is ten times better than them. They are australia answer to Poison?what a laugh!

From: Geoff Date: August 15, 2004 at 23:15
Like I said about Roxus, this is one of those CDs that makes me proud to be Aussie. The killer hard rock of 'Sister's crazy', the wonderful 'Danger' and the beautiful 'Where no one dares' - just a few of the excellent tracks on offer here. Yes, really quite a great commercial hard rock CD. 7.9/10

From: Rycheage Date: November 12, 2004 at 19:47
This gives sleaze glam a whole new definition. Good musicianship and full of sleaze type cheesy lyrics, this is definitely in the Poison/L.A. Guns camp. Not quite up to their par, but very good nonetheless. Worthwhile party rock if you like it sleazy.

From: Alexxtcatz Date: May 21, 2005 at 17:43
Not so good as i expected...Roxus is AOR and much better.

From: Nards Date: September 24, 2005 at 10:30
I can't beleive I found this CD, the album and the (hot metal) demo tape are on high rotataion, for about a month every year or so. Between the harlotts and BB Steal, Aussie rock in the late 80's and early 90's never sounded so good, these two bands kicked arse. If you don't \have access to a copy of this C.D. you are f\doing yourself a disservice, borrow a copy or even beg for one, it rocks like nothing else. ignore all negative comments amnd make your own decision. you will not be disapointed

From: Joshy St. Jaimz Date: October 15, 2005 at 6:27
I was pretty disappointed with this one. After the rockin' first track 'Backstreet Boys', I had high hopes for the rest of the disc, but unfortunately it doesn't deliver IMO. 'The Other side of love' ain't that bad, but nothing can compare to the album opener. Before hearing this album I heard their 'Hot Metal' demo tape, and the songs on that are done much better than the versions that are on this disc.

From: wzcj02 Date: May 22, 2006 at 14:33
I'm an aussie and I consider most of our home grown music to be crap at best. But these guys were different. This album is terrific hard rock. It was a pity that they came on the scene in 92 otherwise they could have gone places. Heaps better than kings of the sun and even AC/DC.

From: Helix Date: November 10, 2006 at 16:48
For me This was just an average cd. Could have been a better cd if they had a better production.

From: RatScare Date: December 17, 2008 at 23:46
Absolute classic, the best Aus album in the genre. These guys were different to anything else at the time, could have been huge!

From: RatScare Date: December 17, 2009 at 22:43
the Candy Harlots (album line up) have just done a couple of reunion shows and they where great!!! Stay posted for the DVD / Album to follow. Very cool guys happy to have a drink and a chat

From: pie75 Date: June 27, 2010 at 1:17
jack settle down mate i'm a proud aussie and i love this cd better than roxus too although i like roxus but wzcj02 you need to book into rehab what a dumb comment no australian band is better than ac/dc period! but we're reviewing a candy harlots album not ac/dc and this is a damn fine one back street boys had me right from the start other gems are sister's crazy, danger, the lady shakes and what are we fighting for i wish i seen them live they did support ac/dc in melbourne on the razor's edge tour

From: rockhardrock Date: January 15, 2011 at 14:51
well this album rocks hard for sure. so here we have another very good sleaze/glam album. at first i couldn't believe when i read they are from australia i was certain they were from u.k. songs i like here:backstreet boys, danger, my flame and what are we fighting for.

From: hair metal again Date: February 16, 2015 at 2:01
superb debut by CANDY HARLOTS and def a band that knew what was doin!their sound is somewhere between LA GUNS & FASTER PUSSYCAT and with a better frontman they could possibly do more!from the first tunes you can realize their true sleazy attitude which is nt a fake!the guitars and the rhythm section are ok and the songs will satisfy you!"where no one dares","the lady shakes","the wildest way" ,"what are we fightin for" are fine songs and overall Five Wicked Ways a nice addition to your collection

From: Auslander Date: February 18, 2020 at 11:43
Much loved band when this came out amongst my friends and I. Sadly, they were a little late onto the sleaze scene. I still play this often and it brings me back to 1992. Essential track: Sisters Crazy.
