Sep. 6, 2025: Update: Temporary Message Board ClosureUpdate: Board ourage has been delayed due to consultant's schedule. Outage TBD. The company hosting the message board sprung a surprise price hike on me that would have more than tripled the monthly hosting costs, so I've been scrambling to find an alternative. I've purchased a license for self-hosting a different platform and am hiring a consultant to migrate the existing board's content (posts, user profiles, etc.). However, this means I need to shut down the message board for anywhere from 3 days to (hopefully less than) a week so the data can be migrated. While this is an expensive proposition up front, it should result in some long-term savings. I will post updates here. The main site (where you are reading this), will NOT be affected. -Dan |

11 hard hitting melodic tunes in one ass kickin' collection. The kid on the cover was (at the time), John Sykes 5 year old son.![]() |

not like the debut album, but still a great cd! |
From: Gar | Date: June 2, 2003 at 6:18 |
Some pretty good stuff here, but the songs all kinda blend together with nothing that really stands out. The cover of 'Itchycoo Park' seems out of place though. |

A good but uneven effort by Sykes and co. About half the album was recorded with the original lineup and sounds much like the classic debut CD.. Franklin's bass playing is unmistakable. The rest by the credited lineup seems to go in more of a power pop direction, but the styles vary. We All Fall Down is probably the best track (it was the single), Save My Love has an interesting R&B vibe, I'm On Fire is hard rock at top speed, and don't overlook the eerie acoustic closing ballad She Knows. |

'Save my love' is definitely the best ballad ever !!! John Sykes is brilliant ! |
From: Axelinger | Date: August 24, 2004 at 9:59 |
Nowhere near as good as the debut... Appice and Franklin left partway through, and it shows... This is where Sykes began to go off in a more ballady direction, and I'm sorry, but Save My Love sounds like a clump of turd best left for the likes of Whitney Houston... A couple of decent tracks, but a serious letdown from the debut album... |

I never REALLY dug this album, but it does have a massive sound and some pretty good songs. More importantly I have had it for years and still not sold it after many arguably better releases have gone. Yeah, there's something I like about it. Good solid hard rock. |

I THINK THIS CD IS BETTER THAN THE DEBUT! ST GOT TOO MANY WHITESNAKE STYLE! NOW JOHN GOT HIS OWN WAY! GUITAR PLAY IS MORE SKILLFUL IN THE SONG 'DANCE' AND 'I'm on Fire' (KELLY KEELING ON LEAD VOCAL) GREAT ALBUM YOU MUST HAVE IT! |
From: KANFROM TAIWAN | Date: September 10, 2004 at 2:54 |
MY SUGGESTION: PAY A LITTLE ATTENTION ON RYTHEM GUITAR!IT IS ALSO GREAT GUITAR ART ! |
From: Kryiis karl | Date: November 5, 2004 at 15:22 |
Axelinger, agree with you about Appice-Franklin. maybe there is more diversity on this second release, which is sometimes a good point, but here it shows a little lack of unity. BM kinda lost their specific sound, color. Remains an excllent Cd if not compared too much with 1st one. |

I like the itchycoo park cover. Not nearly as good as the first album. |
From: Dreamaholic | Date: June 4, 2005 at 5:34 |
I actually like this better than the debut, in that I liked more songs. Faves are We All Fall Down, Itchycoo Park, Cry for Love, and I Need an Angel. Like Geoff I still have it, so I must like it! Like another reviewer said, though, way too many ballads to give it a high rating. |

JOHN SYKES still RULES !!!!!![]() ![]() |
From: rockhardrock | Date: January 2, 2011 at 16:39 |
even though it passed more than 4 years since they released their debut album, this one still has that sound which is great compared too many other groups who changed it to worse-some kind a alternative rock/metal crazyness. my faves here:dance, we all fall down, she knows and shouldn't have let you go. |
From: rick kerch vzla | Date: January 18, 2011 at 18:24 |
Still good after the debut (thought the debut was unbeatable)...John Sykes this time with a new line up showed the people how capable he is to put up the right record with the right musicians(then and now)..."We All Fall Down" a great rocking opener,"I'm On Fire" also rocks ![]() ![]() |
