These guys rock!

From: David Date: August 1, 2002 at 0:58
These guys have been given another chance by Metal Mayhem Music for a very good reason. Excellent song writing with a mad axe-man who can really shread when he wants to. Totally excellent song writing with a Totally wild singer in Ron English! It's a shame these guys only did one cd, but maybe they might make a comeback like so many other Hard/Sleeze rock bands. Easily the best album to come from the Metal Mayhem archives because the production is so good aswell.

From: David Date: August 1, 2002 at 0:59
These guys sound like Hericane Alice, Tuff, Trixter and Poison (What a wrap!) and the good thing is they are as good as them aswell, so many bands get commpared to great bands like the ones mentioned which gets you excited and when you buy the albums, it's such a let down. RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 1, 2002 at 1:29
I agree this band is good and play that fun style of hard rock that you very seldom hear anymore...If you like this band then try the band called 'Without Love'...They play a similar style of Hard Rock and their tune called 'Rockin In The Backseat' is one of those classic catchy tunes that take ya back to the glorious 80's hairband days.

From: David Date: August 1, 2002 at 1:34
I agree with that, but the production on the Without Love cd is fucking bad!!!!

From: nitrodoll Date: August 2, 2002 at 4:44
a fine release indeed, and also killer artwork on the frontcover.... excellent cd...

From: TIM Date: August 2, 2002 at 15:55
I have to agree with Purrfect Kat 'Without Love' is great too.

From: M. Allen Date: August 7, 2002 at 23:32
A lot of hair bands had the look but not the goods to go along with it; thankfully, RAQUEL has both. Some folks have compared them to Poison & Tuff, and that's a fair comparison, but don't think RAQUEL is a clone band; they have a pop-metal sound/style that is all their own, full of infectious hooks, sing-along choruses, and cool harmony vocals. Definitely one of the better reissues to emerge on the Metal Mayhem Music label.

From: tonikki Date: August 17, 2002 at 17:05
an incredible album.very similar to warrant.ron sings almost like jani lane.if you like warrant, danger danger or trixter get it.

From: batman777 Date: December 31, 2002 at 12:06
great album, just like the debut album of 'amsterdam' , another band from that area . 'everywere i go' is my favorite tune on this album...

From: Raquel Date: January 1, 2003 at 3:37
I never new there was a band that was called Raquel, that is my name! I was also born in 1989, when they were famous

From: jayglam@hotmail Date: March 3, 2003 at 12:51
I was surprised in how good this cd was. Very cool look with the cool hair but most importantly great songs with catchy melodies. Singer sounds like Jani Lane in his better days, good guitar works as well. Best songs would be Pop goes the music, Love don't go, Everywhere i go, Angel and the incredible darlin. Great feeling and emotion in the vocal delivery. Great cd.

From: Raquelfan in PA Date: March 11, 2003 at 17:36
i'm live in pittsburh and got to see the band tons of times and cand tell you as great and the cd and was awesome live. dark city is my favroite. go visit kevins new band at www.grapevinepage.com

From: SomeplaceElse Date: July 13, 2003 at 3:33
They were ok live, great SOLID Drummer ala..... Tommy Lee but other than that, nothing special.

From: Rycheage Date: July 20, 2003 at 20:30
A light hearted sound and approach, this is feel good rock n roll. These guys seem to fill the gap between the softer sounds of Trixter, the more glammy Tuff and Poison and the harder edge Hardline with a hint of early Extreme. This album's production quality is much higher than some others reviewed here and makes me wonder if it wasn't a major label recording session that went to no avail.

From: robert Date: December 21, 2003 at 20:58
Veo q aqui hay mucha peña q le mola el SLEAZY / GLAMM... bueno pos me alegro, este año fue muy productivo tambien para este estilo...

From: tomcat Date: March 9, 2004 at 9:57

Hi, I wonder why my previous post was removed????

From: koogles Date: May 19, 2004 at 12:46
Unevenly produced (the ones produced by the drummer tend to be the weakest) but Raquel had the right idea, and certainly the look that sold Circus magazines in the late 80s. "Pop Goes The Music" is big track here, with neat, almost Queen-like vocal harmonies in spots. Fans of Danger Danger, Trixter, Roxxi, Warrant, Hericane Alice, Poison, Tuff, Roxy Blue and Joker will want this one.

From: Chad Date: May 31, 2004 at 15:01
Very solid release. I stumbled on to this band a few years ago. Still looking for bands with this sound as the music nowadays sucks. These guys write good songs. Nothing really mind blowing but a good party rock vibe.

Can anyone burn me a cd-r copy of this cd? Let me know ... KSK1070@insight.rr.com

From: jessica96fish Date: August 28, 2004 at 12:52
this is without any doubt.one of the best albums out there.not one bad song.if your into roxy blue warrant dirty rhythm roxxi.then this is for you.and i think this is even better.than the bands i put here

From: Geoff Date: September 21, 2004 at 18:15
Another one with good solid reviews. Good stuff. 'Pop goes the music' is great pop rock, 'Love don't go away' and 'Angel' are stellar slabs of commercial hard rock. 'Darlin' is a beautiful mid-tempo balladic track. Basically, this is just a CD of good harmless commercial rock and it goes very well. Nicely done.

From: Marcus Date: November 17, 2004 at 21:35
Great band for sure for all the melodic hardrock lovers. living in Houston Tx...everytime the played I used to always go see them...They even did the ART Insitute of Houston Commercial with their song POP GOES THE MUSIC....for the Music Part of the Institute.

From: John Date: December 14, 2004 at 20:17
I just contacted Metal Mayhem and this CD is no longer available. I used to work with this band!!! Unfortunately I never asked them for one of their CD's and now I wished I had one. Anyone know where I can get one? If not, can someone copy theirs? Since the original is no longer available I see that as the only option unless someone will either sell me theirs or loan it to me for a couple of days. :-^) Contact me! >>> raquelcd@kathouse1.com <<<

From: Henrykane Date: August 4, 2006 at 14:12
What a shame this band never reached success! or at least a major contract! This album is simply a masterpiece with memorable songs like "Pop Goes the music"(brilliant an'contagiuos refrain ala one-hit wonder!) or "Dark city"(a sort of Dokken meets Tuff with powerfull riffs). "Angel" reminds me the colourful bubblegum-glam sound of bands like Big Bang Babies or Heart Throb Mob but less punky. Rest of the tracks are totally devoted to Poison, Warrant and Trixter. GLAM-HAIR METAL GEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Heavy.AOR Date: October 31, 2006 at 10:28
BRILLIANT 10/10.Great MHR/AOR not glamish.ok ok ok little glamish .

From: juan carlos Date: July 24, 2007 at 14:22
Recomendado. 8.5/10

From: shark attack Date: September 30, 2007 at 6:35
Laid back hair metal which is attracting big prices on ebay now.Raquel tick all the right boxes with(surprisingly)good production values, above average playing skills, the obligatory big hair and a bagful of strong if slightly generic hair metal cliché's in the style of Poison,Warrant and Wild Boyz.Fave tunes are Everywhere I go(awesome chorus)and the slightly menacing Dark city.Overall a strong release(metal mayhems best???)and highly recommended for all hair metal connoisseurs. 73/100

From: PODEROSO YIRO Date: May 6, 2008 at 21:16
Very good Glam Hard Rock. They sound like a mix of Poison, Warrant, a little bit of Nelson and Danger Danger. My favorite track in this album is "Everywhere I Go".

From: erik Date: September 20, 2009 at 5:42
The first half of the cd is certainly the best. Best songs for me are Love Dont Go,Everywhere i Go, Angel and Darlin as great examples. 75/100

From: rick kerch vzla Date: November 10, 2011 at 20:12
This band has a mix of Tuff,Poison & Danger Danger and probably that was the problem of not reaching an status as a band way back when they came out,too many bands alike with the same repetitive happy Glam/Hard Rock formula, shamely(for Raquel)the fortunate ones got the deal...the best moments for me are "Pop Goes The Music","Love Don't Go"(catchy),"Angel"(AORish)& "Darlin"...a one good effort anyway that led them into nothing...84/100

From: MelodicMetal4Ever Date: November 30, 2021 at 22:12
surprised noone has mentioned "one good woman". That is a killer hard driving fun hard rock song. The rest are excellent as well. Very recommendable!! Keep it Melodic! Keep on Rockin'
