This album has very good ballads, song "Does it matter" sounds like Bon Jovi, rockers are very standard. I think the production is poor, sometimes it sounds like a demo.

From: TIM Date: July 13, 2001 at 12:11
Be Mine To Satisfy rocks. They must have set their axes on fire. The rest of the album isn't bad either.

From: RichieRocker Date: June 9, 2002 at 10:35
These guys are good musicans. "Hollywood" is awesome it rocks!!!!!the ballads are good too. Its worth checking out. Pure balls and attitude. When you crank this album you will feel like an animal!!!

From: t.deexx Date: June 11, 2002 at 19:27
of course, they´re not a glam band ( if u think glam is Pretty boy floyd sounding or vain/l.a.guns only ). Good rock , with a terrible sound. I´ve bough this record a lot of years ago, and I still listening to it, so...It couldn´t be a bad record. I love the guitars and the chorus . uhhh...and..where the devil are crystal roxx actually?

From: Rick Date: June 12, 2002 at 7:43
Crystal Roxx has become a cover band. They play in the U.S. on the East coast. They're still awesome, but unfortunately they don't play any of their own material. Big City was a great song from this CD.

From: RichieRocker Date: June 27, 2002 at 6:36
These guys are friggen animals!!!"Hollywood","Big City" and all the ballads make this a very well rounded musical group. These guys know how to rock! Turn up the radio because these guys will blow up your speakers!

From: RichieRocker Date: June 28, 2002 at 21:40
"One way ticket to Hollywood" YYYYYEEEEAAAAHHHH. These guys kick ass. Great vocals, awesome chorus and guitars. The whole album is solid. I would advise anybody who likes music with attitude to check these guys out.

From: ME Date: August 18, 2002 at 23:19
I OWN THIS CD AND SEE THE BAND PLAY LIVE IN THE LEHIGH VALLEY (PA) THEY WILL AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST BAND I HAVE EVER SEEN OR LISTENED TO. I LENT THE COVER OF THIS CD TO A GUY AND HE NEVER RETURNED IT. IT BROKE MY HEART

From: David Date: August 26, 2002 at 4:16
These guys have an extremely rare second album released in 1994 that not many people know about. The album is called: Not On The Clock. Expect to fork out a bit of cash for this one. I love the idea of collecting all these rare cd's, but some of the prices are just silly, I don't know why a record company can't just re-release a heap of these extra rare cd's. I'm sure the rights to the originals wouldn't be that expensive.

From: nitrodoll Date: August 26, 2002 at 6:17
i totally agree with david, i once found a website called www.crystalroxx.com, about some band doing covers..this is probably not the same band or am i wrong? anyway, i have this disc and i like the great ballad 'does it matter" but overall this album didn't do it for me..sorry nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

From: David Date: August 26, 2002 at 18:06
Nitrodoll, you're right Crystal Roxx turned into a cover band after their second album.

From: JLPRocks Date: August 27, 2002 at 9:32
Crystal Roxx was a third rate hard rock band at the time this cd was issued on the fledling JRS Record Label...they're production was horrible... I have their second cd and it's just as bad and for anyone to pay big bucks for it is crazy. Both cd's get a 5 out of 10 from these ears....

From: star Date: September 2, 2002 at 19:36
cr i the best cover band ever they tottally fuckin rock!

From: TIM Date: September 5, 2002 at 13:46
I wish the "Axe Killer" label would reissue these guys with cleaned up sound. Production means little to me. Talent is the bottom line. I hear too many bands that suck with great production. If the band sucks I don't care if Beau Hill produced it or not.

From: vixen Date: September 10, 2002 at 12:09
This album is a winner! Hollywood is an excellent "party on" tune. And their ballads are breath taken. Too bad they're a cover band now. They prolly underrated their own music to much or others did that for em. Didnt know they had a second album. I would love to hear/have that one too.

From: RichieRocker Date: September 14, 2002 at 20:21
Awesome tunes and a great ballsy attitude from these guys!! Definatly check them out! ATTENTION: CAN ANYBODY TELL ME IF THERE IS A BAND CALLED FOXY ROXX?? AND IF SO, WHO DO THEY SOUND LIKE, AND WHO DOES THE FRONTMANS VOICE RESEMBLE. ARE THEY GLAM? HARD ROCK? THANKS!!

From: TIM Date: September 14, 2002 at 21:37
Foxy Roxx is indeed a band but I think they suck. They sound more punk to me. I think you're money would be better spent on TLC-Original Sin or something like that.

From: TIM Date: September 14, 2002 at 21:43
Foxy Roxx probably does belong under here in the glam genre. Maybe someone else can give you a comparison since I sold mine long ago.

From: RichieRocker Date: September 14, 2002 at 22:53
Thanks for the info Tim! I appreciate it.

From: The Fizzy One Date: September 15, 2002 at 21:35
I KNEW that name was familiar. I've only been hearing it on nightclub commercials (Paddock, Hurricane) on Delmarva for a few years now. I had no idea. elfizzbo@hotmail.com

I received an email from their site that says Freddy Baker died. I don't know if that is Anthony or a relative? Anyone know them personally?

From: a friend Date: January 23, 2003 at 6:52
Freddy was his Dad. It sucked.

From: Lil Al Date: June 10, 2003 at 16:48
Freddy Baker always had us workin...great agent. Anthony Baker is a great drummer.

From: Acarith Date: June 16, 2003 at 19:33
I have a demo of Crystal Roxx before this album came out. I'd be willing to send it to anyone who wants it if they just pay the shipping and handling charge. Just email me with your address and how you would like to pay for it...Cash or Money Order. I was going to put it up on EBay but it is only done on a homemade tape the band put out and not an actual tape from a record label. EBay gets pretty picky about that stuff. Just send your request for this 1 (one) copy I have if your interested.

From: Acarith Date: June 16, 2003 at 19:34
Email address is: acarith@netmcr.com if you are interested in the demo tape.

From: tomcat Date: June 16, 2003 at 21:32
i never really cared for this cd to be honest, i do remember the intro to the song 'hollywood' because i can be heard on several other songs (like on a certain backyard babies song and also on a sister morphine song if i remember correctly) anyhow, it's an ok album, with on highlight, the ballad 'does it matter'. this song is very, very good. I give this record 6'5 leaning towards 7 on a scale of 10. YOu see, i don't like everything that was released between 89 and 93. cheers

From: Richierocker Date: August 21, 2004 at 11:49
Ignore the rating on this one. It should be a lot higher. Awesome choruses and awesome guitars, the drumming and vocals are in your face and has a certain savagry that will keep you coming back for more. Choice cuts "Hollywood, "Be mine to satisfy" "Big City and "Get up, Get out".

From: David Date: December 8, 2004 at 4:00
Did these guys have an earlier album???

From: Geoff Date: March 8, 2005 at 6:36
These guys remind me of Without Love. I actually really like this CD, especially due to the great hard rock sound these guys possess. 'Does it Matter' is a sincere and heartfelt ballad of wonderful proportions, 'Violet Eyes' is also very good and 'Stay With Me' is nothing short of a stunning track. But either way, the ballads are beautiful and the rock is hard and very enjoyable. Not a brilliant disc, but I'd recommend it. Very good stuff.

From: z4roxx Date: March 8, 2005 at 9:25
I think it's not a bad cd but guitar sounds are too strong for the genre they play and If I remember, not a memorable tune or riff, just an average release,IMO.If you like solid hard rock and you get it for a cheap price is not so bad,IMO.6.5/10.

From: orietto Date: March 8, 2005 at 17:54
lots of dupes around here don't appreciate it...listen it again as this one is great 8,5

From: Swriter Date: March 8, 2005 at 18:28
ok, another good jersey band along with Cinderella, BFox, Network, Ivory Tower, Heaven's Edge, Surrender Dorothy, Tangier, Prophet, Aviator, Teeze, Dead End Kids, and many more, at one point, during one weekend, u could catch all these bands playing in a club somewhere in South/Central Jersey. The originals this band made were wonderful and what a guitarist, Vinnie was one of the best in the area during the late 80's early 90's, good stuff

From: aMetalhead1966 Date: January 3, 2006 at 12:49
Pretty Bland stuff here....3/100

From: BIG-TIME Date: December 29, 2006 at 15:02

From: metalhead4life Date: December 29, 2006 at 19:30

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: February 18, 2007 at 19:33

From: z4roxx Date: June 8, 2007 at 13:48

From: girapolli Date: June 8, 2007 at 14:13

From: z4roxx Date: June 9, 2007 at 12:55

From: Nightrain Date: July 18, 2007 at 23:55
pretty average glam, the rock anthems are so-so, but the ballads are awesome, my favourite is "Does It Matter", the other two are also good. Get it only if it's cheap

From: darobinson Date: September 28, 2007 at 18:04
Violet Eyes may be one of the best all time rock ballads. Other than that this is not that good.

From: COBRA Date: February 12, 2008 at 7:35
Go for the rocking ballads, tracks #3 #5 #8 #10. The rest is just ok or average.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 4, 2010 at 16:54
Good album that maybe can be like one of so many bands with almost the same sound and type of songs.."Big City" explosive and similar to Fastway (Trick Or Treat kinda stuff),"Hollywood" in the same mold as 1,"Does It Matter" is a nice ballad,"Get Up Get Out" cool,"Violet Eyes" another ballad, much better than the previews one,"On My Way" and "For You" the last of the 3 ballads of the album and a highlight in here..in general lines a band that have decent cool tracks and a good singer... maybe nothing 2 kill 4 but is enjoyable anyway.90/100

From: CC Date: July 30, 2011 at 13:47
This album is one of those rare gems that I had no knowledge of when I bought it, but picked it up for the massive sum of £1 purely based on what the band looked like. While I wouldnt call it an amazing album, its still a very good album with some cool rockers (Hollywood being a prime example) and 3 ballads which I would actually say are amazing even if I wouldnt rate the whole album that highly. For you, Stay with me and Does it matter are three ballads that some of the bigger bands of the day would have killed to write and record. When you buy something for £1 you dont expect much, so its always nice when you find a diamond like this album.

From: hair metal again Date: August 12, 2020 at 5:38
very good hair metal music for CRYSTAL ROXX a band that tried always to go with the music industry and achieve success ,as they altered their sound easily from record to record!they might not been big believers but hair metal music is AWESOME and that s wh this album is recommended!the rockers are ok and could be better with a better production but the ballads are truly excellent!"violet eyes","for you","does it matter" are great songs indeed!recommended

From: jfox66 Date: August 27, 2021 at 23:38
They had a self-produced release in 1991 simply titled CRYSTAL ROXX. Also released another one titled CRYSTAL ROXX in 1995.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: September 8, 2022 at 19:21
It turns out Crystal Roxx hails from my very own home state of Delaware; I had always assumed they were from Penysylvania. (Must have been from somewhere upstate.) Setlistddfm is of course an incomplete source, but it seems they were just about the house band at the Silo in Reading, PA, back in the day (and beyond). I know for a fact they played at the Paddock in Ocean City, MD every week during the summers in the mid- to late-'90's, like every Tuesday or something. Those shows were heavily advertised on local radio back then. Anyway, people, these guys were a club band, pure and simple. The songs and performances are extremely average, and you wonder if they even believed in this type of music that much, or only played it because that's what drunk people in clubs wanted to hear at the time. Note also the stylistic shift a couple years later, even if they kept the glammy name. Not everyone in a band was all in on that sound—they wanted to get paid to play music instead of souring concr

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: September 8, 2022 at 19:27
... concrete! This album is a good example of a decent-sized fish in a small pond. You might like it on its own merits if you just can't get enough of that watered-down, late-period hair-metal sound, you'll like it way more if you were a regular at the Silo, or the Paddock, or the Village in Lancaster, or wherever else they used to play. But I bet it would be fun to talk to them and hear some stories.
