Awesome! I have the Korean pressing. The front cover is poor, that means no lyrics. Has someone this release? What is inside the booklet, are there pictures, lyrics? ... or I got an obscure release. The CD looks like OK, with serial.

Put it this way: The best female fronted album ever recorded. All the tracks are 10/10. "Long Shot" is an anthem...what a guitar riff, what a chorus, what a voice of Gudrun. This album is the holy grail of the female fronted albums....no more to say

OH YEAH! Where have you been all my life?!!! This is THE essential female-fronted rock album. One of the few that's worth the value of the average eBay cost. Every song is solid, the vocals are ballsy, and...well, you'll have to check it out yourself. A MUST-HAVE!!!

I'd like this a whole lot better if I hadn't spent about 4 or 5 songs wondering if I was listening to a female or male singer when I heard it first. I can't forget that, but that said... although I hate the vocals for this CD, the songs are excellent. I'd have loved to hear it with male vocals, or even with a lady with a good voice - not so f*cking rough. As I say, killer songs and musicianship, just awful vocals.

ARXONTAS are you a feminist 'carpet licker' or something? No one is bashing females here, all the guys basically had positive things to say (except Geoff, who likely doesn't appreciate too much). Maybe you should talk with a therapist before your next post. What does 'bihind' mean? Great CD BTW.

How much do you just hate idiots? Can't stand 'em personally. An individual like myself can lay down thousands of comments on albums he loves, filling up about 1000 pages on this site. Then out of the snow an idiot arrives, sees a comment by Geoff on a CD he loves (eg. Who Cares, commenting on Laos) that is not favourable and just presumes that Geoff likes nothing? Just because he doesn't like the same CD as him? For fuck's sake...

Have had this on CD-R for years (couldn't stretch to the Ebay prices) so it's great to finally have a proper copy of this. MTM have come up trumps again with this one, with the bonus tracks being an excellent addition, especially the version of 'More Than A Feeling'. The album itself is a fabulous slice of Melodic rock and truly deserves the praise that has been heaped on it over the years and is right up there with Witness, Heart etc. Yet another quality re-issue to blag straightaway.

This is a good disc, although not quite the classic that some of the comments suggest. As Geoff mentions, the vocals are rough, & some of the tunes are a little workmanlike. What I REALLY like are the bonus tracks on the re-issue. They're the best 3 tracks on this album by a distance IMO. The cover of "More than a Feeling" sounds great, "Come Tomorrow" is AOR heaven with sublime keys, and "Love Sweet Love" is another awesome slab of AOR. Decent album, great bonus tracks. 8/10.

I agree the vocals on the first track are a bit rough, after that Ms Laos sings with power & spirit. By the time you get to Long Shot you know this is a classic release. Guess I'll be shelling out 15 bucks to get the three bonus tracks.

This album is tight. I'm a big fan of butch female vox on melodic hard rock and Laos is perfect for this. It's almost like listening to Doro Pesch's not so evil twin sister doing Lita Ford-ish melodic rockers. I'd compare this to Chrissy Steele's 'Magnet' album with stronger overall tunes and catchier choruses. Good stuff. 8.5/10

The bonus tracks on this are awesome-they easily make buying this again worthwhile. And as for the vocals-I personally think they fit the music perfectly. Reminds me of a more melodic Warlock.

Received this along with the Flame cd,and what a little gem this.I agree with other commenters about the strained vocals on the first few tracks but it just improves greatly as the album progresses.Well worth a listen/investment and for me the stand-out track is "Long Shot"..

Clear winner!!!! "I want it" is a PERFECT rocker. Absolutely WITNESS-like stuff. Well, it's all said before. I only will add DARE with "Blood from stone". Kinda like that. I just can't understand what's that good on the BOSTON-cover??? It's sounding interesting, of course, but the most loved chords before the refrain are missing.. WHAT the hell..?!? Plus I don't like the production of mtm. There're light "plops" within the sound. 9,3/10

I have listened to the album for the second time now, and it's a really great rock album. But I was shocked when I just got in here and saw that the vocals are female... at first I was sure that the singer was a male, then I started to wonder if it was a female after all, but then I convinced myself that it WAS a male... Wow, I was so wrong... but the album is still great! I Want It is a killer, what a chorus!

Sin duda uno de los mejores albums de AOR Female Fronted!!Espectacular el tema que cierra el Cd "Higuer ground" un medio tiempo de los que hacen epoca, el "Why is a good love" que suena como si a los AC-DC haciendo AOR, fantastica es también "Now that it's over" y la que pone los pelos de punta es la emotiva balada "We call it love", en resumen un album a la altura de Heart o Witness.

A very good album that just happens to have a female lead singer. I do like the vocals (sorry Geoff) but I wish the guitars would have been turned up a bit more. There is some very good songs on this album and I do enjoy it. You do not need to like female vocals in hard rock to enjoy this album. But it helps.

The first song is hell . The rest is also powerful made hard rock (I wouldn't tell it AOR, just if you believe that AOR is what blows up your ears ) in the style of WITNESS and JOAL's 1st album. But we all know that. So I just tell you my rating of 89/100 and say thank you for a rerelease which is really worh it.

This cd sounds great from all the reviews,I only have 1 song,I Want It, and it rocks but the ultimate female hard rock/melodic metal band is "Phantom Blue" check out Built To Perform, it's one of the best cds I've ever heard male or female. The whole band is female by the way.I currently waiting for my copy of We Want It to arrive,I hope the rest of the cd is as good as the 1st song.

Hands down, the best, most hook-laden, melodic female-fronted AOR CD of all time!!! This is NEVER gonna be topped! My fave is 'Jericho.' I've heard some of the demos which were going to be included in the follow-up and I must say, if you liked this one - you WOULDN'T have liked that one. The tracks are much more hard rock and raw, without the melodies and the finesse of the debut. 'We Want It' was a one shot deal. We're never going to see anything like this again!!!

Top notch album and pretty easy to find on E-bay and Record Stores(especially in Europe)...enjoyable from head to toes and with a female vocalist(Gudrun Laos)that in certain parts(just certain parts) reminded me of Bonnie Tyler ...faves of mine "Jericho" & "Long Shot"...also standouts are "I Want It" that is a very good rocking track,"Why Is A Good Love","Now That It's Over" this one a solid AOR feel ballad,"Straight To The Top" catchy one along with "We Called It Love"..in general lines is pretty worthy...get it!!!.95/100

i think that in 2004 geoff was very very sick.hope he find a good doctor.serioustly "awfull vocals" on this album?it is a joke.now in 2011 geoff listen one more time this absolute jewel.i recommand you the reedition on m t m classix with 3 fabulous bonus tracks and listen to the marvellous voice of miss grundun laos.i think in 2004 you have listen only the first track "i want it" on the choruse grundun force and raise her voice.this record is one of the more extraordinary female hard f m record with witness, perfect crime or darby mills among oters....

Excellent rocker start with the three or four first songs, but then dwindles to "average" AOR, and the bonus tracks seems like they were recorded by another band with only the same singer. I'd keep the rockers and forget the rest (including the bonus tracks).

The disc ain't bad at all! If yoy like The LAOs CD, give Bar-Fly a go.
