PURE KICK-ASS ROCK 'N' ROLL!!! Combine equal parts of George Thorogood, Georgia Satellites, AC/DC & Ted Nugent in a kettle. Then sprinkle a generous dose of Motorhead on top for a kick in the pants - WOW!! Now you got AMERICAN DOG. This cd has great rythmns, burnin' guitar solos with feel and soul. The vocals are very distinct - definitely not your "cookie cutter" vocals like all the other "clone-wannabe-rock" bands out today(think Alice Cooper/Lemmy). Oh, and don't forget the clever lyrics.WOW!

This CD gets the blood pumping and the alcohol flowing! One of the most high energy live shows that I've ever witnessed; you won't be sitting down waiting on something better to come along...THIS IS IT!!! One word of caution, keep an eye on your speedometer because you WILL be experiencing rock and roll at its best!!! American Dog will kick your ass and leave you begging for more!!!

This is one badd-ass band!! The cd kicks ass and they're one of the best live bands I've ever seen. They are the perfect mix of southern-rock and classic hard rock with just a touch of raging red-neck country thrown in for good measure!!! If you don't have it, Get it!!!

When you like Ratt or Dokken or anything that has been touched or polished by the likes of Beau Hill, Desmond Child or the likes, you won't really care too much for this one. This is unpolished, unshaved, smelly in your face rock n'roll. For those days you want to feel like a bad ass biker (in your Saturn).

Now this CD kicks ass! All the above reviews are spot on here. Dirty, raunchy, beer drinkin' hard rock at it's best. The offspring of George Thorogood and Circus of Power that doesn't disappoint.

This is one crap band, hard rock...this is crap rock. Yep this is beer drinking music...when your bored 14 year old kids drinking your dad's beer. This is to modern is sounds modern, feels modern, and should not be on this web site. If you want Hard Rock try bands like Tyketto, Von Groove, Bangalore Choir, Saints N Sinners. Stay away from this crud.

This CD has some of American Dog's essential tracks on it, like "Barely Half Alive," "Drank Too Much," "Last Of A Dying Breed" and the title track. "A Dog's Life" is a hoot as well, with its silly lyrics and bouncy rhythm. But my favorite has got to be "TV Disease," a very overlooked tune. Steve Theado gets a lot of attention, adn rightly so, but Keith Pickens just flat-out jams on drums on this song. The last few tracks are throwaways, though, although "She Had It Comin," is a nice, sinister, slow blues tune. Not their best album, but there's enough good stuff here to make it worth it.

Great disc here. It's true, if you only like polished progressive metal, you may not like this. But if you like Thorogood, Dirty Looks, Kix, AC/DC...chances are you wanna be playing this loud and proud, with beer in the cooler and smoke in the ...uh...well, partying I mean.
