Great solo album of MANTAS from VENOM. It doesnt sound like VENOM but a lot more HARD/HEAVY METAL. I am a fan of VENOM but MANTAS solo album Kick assssssssssssssss.

From: Severe Repug Date: February 19, 2004 at 16:58
Absolutely hilarious, cheese rock album. One of my all-time favorite "so bad, it's brilliant" LPs in my collection. I'm a huge Venom fan, and the resulting search for this album ran its course for over a few years. I own the Cronos and Abaddon albums, so I knew not to expect anything similar to Venom (or conventionally "good" or "listenable", for that matter). And, my, my, Jeff absolutely didn't dissapoint me in that department.

death! chuck lives! without chuck there would be no MANTAS! if you like MANTAS, check out DEATH or CONTROL DENIED! mother fucker bleee

From: Rene Date: April 18, 2004 at 17:46
Marcos, we are not talking about pre-DEATH band MANTAS(i have the demos and they rule) but we are talking about a ex VENOM member, MANTAS.

the video for 'deceiver' was way too funny...

From: TIM (2) Date: March 11, 2005 at 9:23
The release date of this is actually 1986. For some reason this appears to be something of an AOR collectors piece nowadays. I remembered this being bad, but as one of my AOR-collector friends mentioned he's trying to get hold of a copy I decided to dust it off. And it's still crap. Bland, cheesy AOR, with atrocious vocals. Pay no more than about £3 for this. 3/10.

Pretty rough CD this is. If you like standard heavy metal, boring as batshit with constant fast paced songs, give this a go. I was bored shitless for the majority of it, but must admit that 'Winds of change' is a decent enough melodic rocker. Aside from that the rest is severely over-lookable old school metal.

This almost sounds like a parody. Coma inducing piece of crap.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: October 5, 2007 at 1:24

From: juan carlos Date: November 19, 2007 at 22:39
Cierto Rene Hard/Heavy, AOR? Unos Dominoe Metalizados? jaja... Una combinación no muy común pero Buenísima. 8.5/10

wow this cd rocks i'm listening to it right now they're very underrated love the songs winds of change, nowhere to run, king of the ring and let it rock there's a few instrumentals on here that rock if you like dio you'll love this cd.

From: Delbert Date: March 20, 2008 at 21:41
This is Ex VENOM guitarist Mantas's first solo album. "Winds of Change" sounds NOTHING like Venom. It is melodic and keyboard filled. I read in an interview that Mantas took this approach because he wanted to prove he could play Melodic metal and prove he was a good guitar player. I have to agree that the album does showcase his talent. The sound finds itself close to early style DOKKEN with massive keyboards. I loved it!!

This is another story...the speed metal guitar player from the inventors of Black Metal,Venom, turning an AORester in here!..this album is awesome, the only low peak is that the vocalist could habe been edgier but still the guy(Pete Harrison)does a more than acceptable job.."Let It Rock" is a very good opening,a staright highlight and with a catchy little chorus,"Deceiver" is AOR,"Hurricane" a wonderful instrumental track,"King Of The Ring" along with "Western Days"(solid),"Winds Of Change","Desperado"(highlight instrumental) and "Nowhere To Run"(excellent) are my faves...great album and well worth the buy but wait!..do not expect any kind of "Black Metal"(Venom) kind of songs..hahaha!.95/100

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: June 11, 2010 at 13:41
