Indeed, this is a true classic, a materpiece. Very original sound, simply excellent. They blow away 99,5% of todays bands. Definitely ! AN ABSOLUTE MUST !!!!!!!

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 22, 2002 at 15:05
THIS CD does NOT Blow away 99.5% of the bands at all . . . . If You like Hard Rock then stay away from this cd cuz it's ALL DISCO ROCK and it sucks more then a Hooker.

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 22, 2002 at 15:19
It's one thing to have an opinion but it's another to LIE to everyone . . . .In all honesty no disco cds should even be on this site cuz then guys like this start to come around who are still wearing bell bottoms and green spandex undies . . . making comments without stating that it is Disco Rock.. . . . . . . . . . . . .(Swats ya with her tail) . . . . . . . . . . Knockin You into another time zone back in the 70's where your clothes might be still in style.

From: Jex Date: August 23, 2002 at 5:47
Disco!!!!1 - HaHaHahahahaha. The Nearest Comparison would be Probably Balance on some tracks, with heavier Keyboards. Disco Rock I don't think so

From: freddy de keyze Date: August 23, 2002 at 7:54
purrfect kat . . . to call me a lyer ! If Speedway BLVD is disco then you to check your brains. This is original hardrock with lots of keys, but disco ????????? Please, people, check it all out by yourself and tell me then who's lying here ! ! ! You're out of your mind and you know nothing about music. Sorry people, but someone that tells that Speedway BLVD is disco is not worth being taken seriously ! What's your goal by telling such nonsense, 'dear ' Kat ? And perfect you certainly aren't !

From: David Date: August 23, 2002 at 8:15
These guys suck!, Stick to the rocking rather then messing around with them fucking keyboards.

From: nitrodoll Date: August 23, 2002 at 10:32
i have to get this cd....do they have a website? and is freddy de keyser from belgium?zo ja, groetjes. nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 23, 2002 at 12:09
I belive my cd collection speaks for it's self so shut the fuck up cuz I ain't in no mood for your bullshit . . . The cd is Disco Rock and even the back cover will show they are dressed in their disco 70's clothes but I guess the wanna be experts don't see that either . . . maybe they should get their hearing and vision checked cuz I think they are both impaired so just go have another drink and stop misleading people with claims that this cd is better then 95% of the bands out there. . . NOT

Brilliant cd

From: freddy de keyze Date: August 24, 2002 at 5:56
dear David and perfecct kat. If you don't like keyboards, don't call yourself an AOR fan. And disco, are you really serius ? Fact is, that Speedway BLVD ware far ahead of their time, and that their CD is a real masterpiece, seen as a real classic, and rightly so ! Is their one band in history of music that you can compare with 'em ? Don't think so !!! For lovers of real AOR/progressive hardrock, this is simply a MUST !! I'm always fair to other people an I don't lie !!! And Nitrodoll, I'm from B

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 24, 2002 at 10:42
Fair enuff Freddy . . . . I am not an AOR fan and giving your opinion on a band is what it is all about . . . . When You stated this cd was better then 95% of the bands then that was not an opinion . . and is the reason why I responded the way I did.. . . . I myself shy away from decribing bands unless I have a transaction pending but I do like reading all the different opinions everyone has because it does help weed out the bad cds . . . (I will be quiet now) . . Have a nice day.

classic album from a band that specialises in pomp aor with some prog.touches here & there.totally recommend this if you enjoy listening to some whacky keyboard blasts coming out of your speakers.coming from 1980 its going to sound a bit dated but quality is quality! right? and this is a good example of quality aor.

From: Xabofar Date: February 1, 2004 at 9:52
Disco???? Are you drunked or what?? Please be serious. This is pomp rock of the highest quality.

From: Nick Clarkson Date: September 30, 2004 at 7:03
Heard it was a classic...bought the re-issue...it's not. Truly awful dated sound makes the American Tears albums sound like Queensryche. I love weird parpy keyboards and bands Force 10/Russia, Aerial, Aviary, Trillion e.t.c. but this is just tat! The songs are comical. It's no longer a part of my life!

From: TomsAor Date: May 5, 2005 at 19:06
This album is ok for Aor its abit patchy the title track is good and so are 1-2 others, on the whole its abit rubbish im sure you could find some better old albums first but if your all out of ideas this one could be up your street/blvd ha ha,just because of the 2 good tracks, some of these guys love it though personally id give it a 6 out of 10, go for Balance theryr the true kings of Aor

From: TomStavely Date: May 14, 2006 at 17:59
Yeah pretty good record, some good tracks but agree its really dated and some parts are just laughable but on the whole an enjoyble record but your not gonna impress anyone with this 6/10

From: gregor_zamza Date: January 26, 2014 at 8:35
Smashing pomp rock! Brilliant compositions! For fans of early Foreigner, Styx & Touch.

From: Nick C Date: September 11, 2022 at 18:46
Time to redress an injustice committed in my review back in 2004 (where did those years go???). I rebought this back when Rock Candy re-released it a second time back in 2016(?) with the view it can't be as bad as I thought when I first heard it on the Sony Rewind release. My head must have been up my backside.

From: Nick C Date: September 11, 2022 at 18:51
OOPS hit return before finishing .... anyway, I was way off beam in my initial comment, this is just a great album, a good mix of styles with a great hard driving feel but off the wall and yes the parpy weird keyboard grunts and trills are there that I so love. The songs - are generally very strong too. I cannot understand why I didn't like it back then as I've been enjoying it completely for the last 8 years or so. It may well not appeal to as many these days but to those who have a love of off the wall 70/80's rock it's damn near perfect.
