Rene, I believe both Dave Scott & Todd Kelly appeared on the first CD, but Dave is identified as 'David' in the credits for that one.

From: Rene Date: November 13, 2004 at 12:17
Ohhh, i didnt know. I dont even know about this release. Thanks WHIPLASH1972. Take care.

From: melo Date: November 13, 2004 at 22:32
is this a bootleg?

Heavy Harmonies Volunteer
From: Whiplash1972 Date: November 13, 2004 at 22:36
Not that I'm aware of. A second Tuff Luck release with Rick Maurer on vocals has been mentioned before in the comments here on HH for their first cd. Also, this CD has popped up on Ebay twice recently from seller rockcity1971...

From: Tanko Date: November 14, 2004 at 20:46
This CD was briefly released a few years back and disappeared quickly. I read Ann Boleyn of Hellion was mad as hell for the first disc getting reissued by the same label and claiming she owned the rights still. Problem with her is, on her 'reissues' she never paid a cent of royalties to the bands.

From: steve photon Date: December 28, 2004 at 1:41
WOW!! This is the best unknown metal CD of all time! Great songs, Shred guitar. Get it!

From: SPIDER Date: December 30, 2004 at 12:43
I have a bootleg copy with one more song on it called 'So lost'. I dont know why this one did not make the cut. It's So good!

From: AJ Date: January 1, 2005 at 13:18
Spider, where did you pick that up from? That extra track is called 'Therapy' not 'So Lost'.

From: Date: January 3, 2005 at 14:00
e-mail him and ask when the songs will be back up, maybe he doesn't know that they aren't up anymore.

From: ViNcEnT Date: January 3, 2005 at 15:17
I went to that site and I'm still cracking up, honesty is sooooo refreshing. Where are the songs though? The links are dead and I'm freaking out. I sent the webmaster an e-mail to let them know so if anyone needs his email address it's stiffpigeon@comcast.net FREE SONGS ARE GOOD! Does anyone have this cd? I want the tunes a.s.a.p. PLEASE!

From: BEASTIE BOYZ Date: January 18, 2005 at 16:16
I just bought a dvd of TL from 1992 on yahoo auctions. I like the band I just hope it isn't some shity bootleg piece of crap. Does any else have this dvd or video from this era of the band?

From: AJ Date: January 19, 2005 at 14:16
Beastie Boyz, who did you buy it from & what shows are they? I recently bought a dvd from Ebay with the original lineup & it wasn't that great.

From: BEASTIE BOYZ Date: January 19, 2005 at 16:48
According to the listing and PAYPAL it is from someone in Florida. The band members on the dvd are DAVE SCOTT - JAMES MARINO - TODD KELLY and RICK MAUER. It says live from Summers 1992? I have no clue. I'll let you know when I get it.

From: BIZBEE Date: January 20, 2005 at 14:28
What a goof! I was just checking out another band on this site looking for info on the band PUSH from Jersey. Is this the same band that the singer from PUSH joined? I know his name was Rick (something). I saw those guys in Staten Island with AMERICAN ANGEL. Both singers were great, I miss the 80's. I went to the site listed above and it's not working. Let me know if this is the same dude.

From: Jerzy all over Date: January 20, 2005 at 17:13
Yes, Rick sang for PUSH - too bad his site isn't up anymore, you'd laugh your balls off - he had some really good pix too

From: B.A. Date: January 22, 2005 at 13:18
What's the name of the guy that sold that dvd to you? and did you get it yet? e-mail me when you get it I want to get it if it's ok. bobabahazi@yahoo.com

From: Date: January 22, 2005 at 14:36
BEASTIE BOYZ - who sold you that dvd?

From: Date: January 26, 2005 at 7:59
The stiffpigeon site will be back up soon.

From: Date: January 26, 2005 at 8:01
Does anyone have any other versions of Tuff Luck with the 3 (pretty sure it's 3) other singers they went through before Rick (Maurer)?

From: Date: March 7, 2005 at 11:27
If you want to read some funny stuff about this lineup go to http://www.goldcoastlive.com/ I just typed in TUFF LUCK and got a ton of cool stuff on the message board. I think this is a south florida mag or something.

From: Date: March 11, 2005 at 23:28
This CD is absolutely brilliant. 'Nuff said.

From: R.C. Date: March 16, 2005 at 8:58
I emailed this singer -RICK- and asked for a copy of the disk because I can't find it. He emailed me one of the songs that wasn't on the disk and it's very cool. I posted it on my yahoo account if anyone wants it. Yahoo is kind of slow but I don't have a better place to upload. I hope this stuff gets re-released because it kicks major ass. http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/bc/42383f2c_108c8/bc/music/Tuff+Luck-Theropy.mp3?bf7yEOCBINYa7n54

From: ruben71 Date: April 27, 2005 at 15:29
if anybody has any tuff luck related items for trade please e mail me at musik03@netzero.com my name is ruben.dave scott and james marino have a new project with one of the guy`s from marilyn manson, which probably is going to suck.tuff luck was going to record an album in the early 90`s before rick maurer joined on shrapnel records but it never materialized.dave scott smoked on guitar.i don`t know how many times i saw those guy`s play the button south.in hallandale.they should have made it.dave

From: ruben71 Date: April 27, 2005 at 15:33

Not even close, I'm in Arizona. I travel more than not. I use to live in Lauderdale between 87'& 93'. I have a real problem with people ripping off bands like TUFF LUCK. They were really good and had tons of talent, it sucks that they didn't make it. I still keep tabs on the bands that I liked back in the day. I heard the 'David Manson' project and I'm not impressed. He should stick with what he's good at, regardless of what's popular at the moment, or in that case 'several moments ago'.

From: Date: April 28, 2005 at 4:48
I saw Rick's site a couple of months ago but he took it down because he said it was a distraction. We've been emailing each other back and forth for a while and I know he looks in on this board so 'What up Doucheteeth?' You guys should hear the songs he did with ONE RED WALL & DICK GOZINYA & THE ALTAR BOYS. He's doing a project now but I don't know what it's all about, I'll have to drop him a line. I wish he would write with Dave again but I think there's a better chance of me finding god.

From: Steel Clock Date: April 28, 2005 at 5:00
I'm at the airport on my way to Orlando & Miami so I'm writing while I sit here. Pardon my rambling. I wish I could go to the Button South & see some rock while I'm in town but I hear they went Latin? I saw that ROCK CITY ANGELS was supposed to do a reunion or something, without Depp I would think. As far as this cd goes I think it has a couple outstanding tunes & a few bombs as well, but I really like Dave & Rick together as writers even if they can't stand each other. gotta go, later.

From: ruben71 Date: April 28, 2005 at 13:14
a little rare thing to present to this forum is that before the rick maurer cassette came out officially.tuff luck was going under the name sucker punch, which i still have the flyer for.what im hunting down is the rare 45 of cryer-pre tuff luck band with paul colt on vocals of back against the wall/get back very rare these day`s.south florida had some burning guitar players in the 80`s metal scene.

From: Steel Clock Date: May 5, 2005 at 4:15
I saw Rick while I was in town. Dude is funny as hell. We hooked up at a pub in Sunrise and sang karaoke! He gave me a TUFF LUCK DVD of the band in a recording studio in Jersey and some stuff I've never heard before, rehearsal tapes and live stuff. He said to say 'YO' to all. You wouldn't believe what he is doing now, amazing! Promised not to say anything so you have to wait. I'll post the time, date & location of the party when he lets me know -it's only partly music- good stuff-said too much

From: ruben71 Date: May 5, 2005 at 12:15
i remember a killer gig i saw at the plus 5 lounge in davie.it had cryer headlining, tuff luck with rick maurer and in your face that, had to have been one of the most ass scorching shows i have ever seen locally everybody ripped.cryer got blown away by the other 2 bands.

From: STEEL CLOCK Date: May 7, 2005 at 2:45
The other TL board is sad. really, really sad.

From: STEEL CLOCK Date: May 11, 2005 at 4:43
GCL board.... I'm still laughing! Hey anyone want to buy copies of all my TL stuff? Just kidding. I have some great video if anyone wants it, I don't think Rick would care if I gave it away.

From: ZIGGY Date: June 11, 2005 at 6:47
Well I'm glad to see the new 'sign in' thing hasn't hurt the board, everyone is still staying away in droves. Who is the moderator here? Rip Van Winkle? Just checking in, let me know if you guys are still alive so we can trade stuff.

From: AJ Date: June 14, 2005 at 14:34
Ziggy, what are looking for?

From: ZIGGY Date: June 15, 2005 at 22:38
Any tracks that did NOT make the second CD. I have some but they are low quality. Let me know what you've got. I have the tape that Rick & Dave did on the side, some strange metal thing.

From: ZIGGY Date: June 27, 2005 at 10:47
OK, I guess we're back to sleepy time......... ZZZZZZZ......

From: STEEL CLOCK Date: July 12, 2005 at 7:20
See, Mighty Mike was right when he said 'It's simple. There are some people that would love to hear TL blasted on there stereos. Unless she is doing something to improve that possibility.(NOT) Enjoy the music anyway you can..That's just my opinion. I think the music was originally meant to be heard.MM' Rick is just giving the people what they want, free music. Too right Mike.

From: rrattle99 Date: July 18, 2005 at 10:33
Anyone know Rick's Current Email Address? I am an old friend of his and would love to chat with him

From: aMetalhead1966 Date: January 19, 2006 at 15:46
Damn...what a GREAT cover!!!!

From: satch bell Date: August 14, 2006 at 11:01
when is the reunion?

From: azrael Date: September 19, 2007 at 13:50
Good luck trying to find one of the 100 or so original copies of this CD. Sources in Florida tell me it was a basement operation back in the day, and they were forced out because of tax evasion. These are great songs, I'm glad Rick himself put them up for grabs, he's a terrific talented singer, unfortunately, as a person, he's IMPOSSIBLE to deal with, he's got anger and entitlement issues (when Ricky doesn't get his way he throws a CHAIR against the wall) and the only folks that are afraid of hi

From: AJ Date: June 24, 2008 at 13:33
Just a heads up for those of you speding mega $$ on the Tuff Luck 2 disc, the one with the dice on the cover is a booted fake. So if you see them up on Ebay or Amazon don't spend a fortune for fake cover art when you can download these tracks for free.

From: sassycock Date: August 22, 2008 at 23:21
I read a post on Amazom.com from Ian Black. Ian sounded like he didn't think all that highly of Dave, which appears to be the consensus among the singers who played in this band. I hear Dave is back in Florida with his wife and child. Is this true? Personally I liked all of the various lineups of TL, each had its own jen es se qua. Much love to you all

From: sassycock Date: August 24, 2008 at 0:08
What is the deal with the TLII cd with the dice on the front? Is that the bootleg?

From: AJ Date: September 2, 2008 at 11:35
Sassy, yes Ian didn't like Dave either, actually Ian is in NYC now, and as far as the dice cover TL2 disc goes, yes that is a bootleg (see my earler post above yours).

From: sassy Date: September 6, 2008 at 5:42
AJ - what's your 20?

From: sassy Date: September 12, 2008 at 11:53
AJ (or AnyBoDy ELSE) Do You know Rick (doucheteeth)? He put some songs on Youtube that are pretty good - some TL some other stuff i never heard before. My name is Joey G my band played the treeHouse about a million yEars ago. We were called SASSY BLONDE _ GAY!!! If anyone has the TL songs POST THEM!

From: AJ Date: September 23, 2008 at 10:26
Sassy, for the Rick stuff just go to his website www.doucheteeth.com he has links there to download the TL2 disc. If you're looking for the stuff that wasn't released (w/ Kenny or the other 2 singers they had) then email me. citykidd@juno.com

From: deaddeaddead Date: June 16, 2009 at 6:47
It's nice to have a place to go for these guys. My room mate told me about this board and I'm glad to see that there is still love. They were a great band, all of them were great players. I caught some of their songs on youtube & downloaded the cd at www.last.fm I remember the Button shows and how fun it was. Damn I miss the days of old.

From: crashdiet1313 Date: August 31, 2009 at 0:30
Solid hard rock album. MUCH better than the first. "Lonely People" and "Full of Shit" are probably my favorite tracks. Can be downloaded at last.fm.

From: devilboy Date: September 17, 2009 at 4:55
Is there no way to get this cd? Help a brother out man, I'm not spending $100+ for it, but come on + point me in the right direction. I found a tape in my junk closet but its wore the f out. What ever happened to the sanger? He was fabulously good as was the rest of the guys.

From: deaddeaddead Date: November 12, 2009 at 2:55
Lonely people is a good song, but what about my private hell? I love that song.

From: 9teen8four Date: November 11, 2021 at 7:02
I'm spending days and hours sifting through all of my 80's/90's Hard Rock & Heavy Metal. I'm listening to this recording titled "Tuff Luck II". Out of all the 80's & 90's stuff, this is the epitome for me. This sound is the pinnacle for my liking. About 1989 to 1993. A little Dirty Blues, Sleaze, Glam, and Bad Ass Hard Rock rolled in one.

From: Keygirl Date: July 6, 2023 at 2:22
@azrael Hi. You still around? If so, would so like to chat with you about something quite interesting... Thanks! - Keygirl
