excellent HARD ROCK release by MOTHER LOVE BONE back in the late 80 s ,when the Seattle movement was starting to grow and later on rule the planet!what you have here is a band with great groove ,very good musicianship and amazin vocals by Andrew Wood !all the songs are very good, the hooks are everywhere and the whole vibe is unique !this is not commercial in the way it is used to describe other bands ,but to my ears is quite mainstream!i really enjoyed that release in my youth and it brings great memories of it !

Saw these guys in a small club in R.I. before the singer died,2 of these guys went on to join/form what would later become Pearl Jam.

Ah what a classic! Spun this again recently and again hate that twinge of sadness that this ended as it did. This is pure hard rock 80s style with some glam (Mott the Hoople ish) influences. Andrew could write some catchy lyrics, there are licks and hooks galore. And this isn't the simple song structures of Seattle punk-influenced groups. There literally is not one poor song on this disc. The only thing that is is missing is the Crown of Thorns version that incorporates the Chloe Dancer intro. This is an A+ album that has always been undervalued by our genre fans.
