A very good melodic hardrock album, reminds me a bit of DOKKen. I can´t belive that the same vocalist (Mr. Marino), later stopped singing (ON the Le mans album he has a good voice)and began yelling for CACOPHONY.

There are some good songs on display here. Opener 'Love Lies', 'Never Wanna See You Cry', and the excellent 'Chain Around Your Heart' stand out. 'Sex Guitars And Rock N Roll' is pretty good too, showing Le Mans in a live context.

Finally found this one on CD...It gets better & better!!

From: rockman Date: October 18, 2004 at 6:58
I always love Sex,Guitar, Rock 'n Roll, from the first time I hear that song. I think that's the best song in this album. I love to hear when Marrino sing 'Sex, Guitar...' and the audience shout 'Rock n Roll...' Fantastic. And I always love to hear Derek Frigo play his guitar. Rest in peace Derek... we'll always remember you.

Does anybody know if Ron Keel appears as guest vocalist here??? I seem to hear some Keel-like shrieks here and there...Or is it just Peter Marrino?

From: Kim HP Date: November 29, 2004 at 12:36
I don't know, but I agree it does sound like Ron Keel's voice in a few songs ("Addicted" for example). Anyway I think this is a very good melodic hard rock album, with some touches of AOR. Particurarly "Chain Around Your Heart" and "Love Lies" are great songs, but I do enjoy the entire album. Great stuff!

From: Geoff Date: November 30, 2004 at 3:42
Wow, I must have been out the room when Ron Keel's influence stepped in on this CD!!! I love Keel, but Ron's got one hell of an awful voice (Still, killer songs and a killer band made them worthwhile) and this dude, Peter Marrino, has a killer voice. Am I mistaken or did he sing for 9.0 too? Either way, this is a killer melodic rock CD and very highly recommended. Don't think there's a filler in sight. Great stuff.

From: figgy Date: January 23, 2005 at 16:05
Hey everyone Ron Keel doesnot appear on this lp.I have an original vinyl that included a black and white picture of the band as well as a 2 page band biography. Also under the credits section it gives mention to 3 other people doing back round vocals:Tom Cosgrove,Andy Bishop, and Jesse bradman.Anyways I picked this up many years ago and still it kicks butt !!!!!

From: rene Date: July 29, 2005 at 15:28
I dont have this album but i have their debut from 1983, ON THE STREETS. Pure early melodic US METAL with great guitars and cool heavy songs on it.

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: November 4, 2007 at 13:46
GREAT CD 95/100 VERY GOOD US METAL a true classic this record start where the first one stops ,great guitar chops and powerful vocals by a very underated PETER MARRINO (later with CACOPHONY/the best VAN HALEN clones 9.O 'gone too far') Great production by guitar guru/PRODUCER/DISCOVER/SHRAPNEL owner Mr MIKE VARNEY who introduce DEREK FRIGO to the world with his essential compilation US METAL buy it...YOU CAN FIND a GERMAN bootleg for cheap !

From: CLUTCH Date: May 14, 2008 at 21:35
WOW! Can't believe I have not commented on this one. When it comes to melodic rock, this is top notch and one of my personal favorites. No throw away songs on this one, as it is all one massive hit after hit. I'm not much of a ballad junkie but even those are fantastic (Geoff, you with me?) Can't recommend this one high enough.

From: the rocker Date: September 5, 2008 at 16:59

Really an enjoyable album!..with a really good vocalist(Peter Marrino)...Hard Rock played with force and passion but at the same time catchy..just the way i like it!..."Love Lies" what a way 2 start an album,an instant highlight!,"Don't Wanna Work" is a very nice catchy rock track with a nice sax included in the middle of it,"Never Wanna See You Cry" is a nice ballad,"Addicted" is an excellent song,"Chain Around Your Heart" is a fave,AORish number,"Bad Reputation" rocks but "Life Of Rock'n'Roll" rocks even better,"Misunderstanding" is another nice ballad with sax included and "Sex Guitar Rock'n'Roll" rocks lively excellent!.90/100...buy eyes closed!

The best of 1986. Level Master of Hard Rock AOR. Average 100/100

From: edwithmj Date: June 18, 2016 at 19:11
Slightly more polished than the original and a little more AORish too, this album is definitely a pleasant surprise. My picks are: Don't Wanna Work: a nice hard rocker with some sax in it but it works very well; Love Is a Waste of Time: another up-tempo hard rocker with a super solo; Addicted: a very loud rocker with screechy glammish voals; finally, Chain Around Your Heart: a more AORish song with a decent melody. Definitely worth listening to.
