The song "Wasteland" is a great, hard driving tune! That song alone is reason enough to buy this album. This band over all is a little to political for me. Kinda like shit-ryche. Oops! I mean Queensryche..................

Unclassifiable and without any hint of compromise, "Warrior Soul" will ram themselves down your throat and leave you motionless!!! It's the sorta music you really wouldn't have heard in the 70's nor the early 80's because "Warrior Soul" are the first band of the 90's to hint at what the 90's music would hold hard-rock-wise. A superbly strange and twisted mixture of high-tech, futuristic vocals and the power of bombastic music creat something to keep your ear's loaded with!!!

I wasn't impressed with this CD at all. I want my money back. Very bland. Did they put any thought into the lyrics at all or did they just figure it would be cool to repeat the refrain 8 times and call it a chorus?

From: Gar Date: February 19, 2004 at 13:10
Worth spending the couple of bucks this one costs for "The Wasteland" alone. Great track, although the lyrics which were topical back in '91 would be lost on the listeners of today. Some of the tracks you'll want to skip completely, but there are some good songs to be had. Warrior Soul were definitely not a band for all tastes, but whenever they got it right they were awesome.

Hey Gar, thanks for posting the comment, I had forgotten what a great release from a great band this is. From the first time I heard "We Are The Losers" right up to the last stuff they released, there were always some killer tracks to be had. Kory's obvious belief in what he was singing about really made even the more mediocre tunes listenable, and when he shined, he really shined. I have to agree with you T-BONE about the chorus repetition, but I think he was just trying to drive a point home.

Warrior Soul is one of those bands that grows on you. This band defies genre pigeonholing. Clearly, White Zombie was influenced by this band. If you like HEAVY rock, but with melodic guitar, and solid musicianship and production, you'll enjoy Warrior Soul. On the surface, many of the lyrics seem to be an almost superficially political anti-conservative rant, but they're much deeper than they first appear. If you're so shallow that you let your politics determine what music you listen to, move on

The First 3 CDs Kick Ass and so does Odds And Ends, It's Chill Pill That sucked to me except for the song Cargoes Of Doom.

Perhaps not quite as good as the debut, but another fantastic metal album. 'Drugs, God and the New Republic' would probably be in my top 10 all time songs. There are lots of other great tunes on this album, especially 'Jump for Joy' and the very upbeat, rocking 'The Wasteland'. For my tastes, Warrior Soul went massively off the boil after this, the music went a little bit punk and the songwriting went downhill. This one will get many more plays though.

2nd very good release by WARRIOR SOUL but not in the same level with their crackin debut!the sound is more 90 s and john ricco s guitars not so heavy.i can see some fillers but there are great songs like "the wasteland","jump for joy","rocket 88".good release
