All I can say is that this is a sell out album. Sounds way too modern for me. At times sounds the same and very boring. Hope they go back to what they are known for. A poor effort from a great band.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I'm not sure what album ninjapeter was listening to?, Buckcherry's Black Butterfly is a straight up rock album. If anything I think Black Butterfly has more classic rock influence (AC/DC, Aerosmith, G&R) than 15 did. If you like any of Buckcherry's previous C.D.s, you will like this one, these guys are almost as consistent as AC/DC when it comes to sticking with their signature sound. My favorite songs are "Tired Of You", "Talk To Me" and "Rose".

Modern rock? I think someone is talking out of their arse!

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: November 16, 2013 at 15:08
As always with Buckcherry, Black Butterfly is a mixed bag. After one of their strongest efforts on 15, the band comes back with one of their weakest. "Tired Of You" and "Too Drunk To Fuck" are the only real highlights, with the latter being an obvious rehash of "Crazy Bitch." Most of the other songs are hookless, monotonous and just plain below average. When he's not singing cliches about drinking and fucking, Josh Todd's lyrics come off as whiny therapist's-couch musings not helped by his nasal, not-particularly-tuneful voice. So we get two songs about child abuse, a barely-passable road song in "Rose," and an absoultely dreadful ballad in "Cream."

I'm kinda with Doghouse on this one. Josh Todd is such an awesome vocalist, but the band itself is just so inconsistent.
