Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine fame on guitars.

Picked these guys up not too long ago. Got rid of them about five minutes later. They sound like lame Electric Boys wannabes, a weird, unappealing mix of melodic hard rock and funk. This album should be locked away, because something bitchin' it ain't.

M.Allen. I dont agree, 100% This cd is quite good infact. I had it for about 6 mths before I gave it a good listening, and its good. Electric Boys are in another league. S U P E R B. But Lock Up isnt that bad.

When I first got this when it came out in like '90 or so I really dug it, but it doesn't stand the test of time too well for me. Kinda reminds me of RHCP meets Van Halen. "Half Man-Half Beast" is a jam and a half, and "Kiss It Goodbye" is a pretty convincing ballad, but the rest of it just doesn't do it for me no more. I'd rather listen to say Circle or Soul who were a lot better at mixing hard rock with funk, IMO. Not bad, though, if anything just a nice skeleton in Tom Morello's closet.

Don't know if the singer in this band was gay at this time. But, when he fronted EXTRA FANCY, he was all into being queer and writing tunes about man on man love. "Sinnerman" was the name of the album & his had some cool stuff on it. Can't really get into the songs about gay love though. It just seems so wrong. I thought Lock Up sucked more than a homosexual. I bought it because of who was in it. Nothing more. Plus, for a buck at the flea market...that was a price I was happy with.

you guys are great

Just that fact that Mr. Social Activist was in the band (and is probably loathe to admit it) is a reason to keep bringing it up. ESPECIALLY because he's probably embarrassed by it.

excellent release for LOCK UP back in the early 90 s offering their funky hard rock music in a smooth way that reminds me of bands like KING OF THE HILL,CIRCLE OF SOUL or ELECTRIC BOYS!the production is very strong ,the musicianship is excellent and the songs stand out after a few spins!great band that unfortunately didnt hit the spot
