Sensational does not begin to describe this disc. As for trying to pick out highlights, quite impossible. 'Touched by love', 'Stop playing with my heart' and the mind-blowing 'State of the heart' are super gems amongst gems, but you'll be hard pressed to find many poor moments here. If you like your commercial hard rock melodic, jam packed with hooks and just brilliant, I could not recommend this more. Stunning.

Another good release but IMO it's a step backward from the previous two. For me the album just doesn't seem to gel properly and it gets the least number of plays out of all my JP stuff. I dunno maybe it's the running order of the songs...which makes me out as a jerk as a good song is a good song no matter what the running order is I guess. As Geoff pointed out State of the Heart is fantastic and the standout track for me, and I can see why he likes it so much..it's just me I guess!

After the tears are gone”.

RECOMENDADO.

J.Paris is a big talent like A.Nova too but the first one didn't has the same fortune IMO.If you read tha last booklet's page you can see this cd was released with a 16 tracks, indeed an excellent work for the poverty but don't understand an artist like him can made better, with some super-killer gem like"Stop Playin With My Heart","Touched By Love"etc.I also must there's some filler(unfortunately).he's has been an unlucky talentous guy,try to downlad his unreleased"Moon over Paris",a masterpiece!

From: z4roxx Date: August 30, 2007 at 15:27
"Lucky this time"is the right title.Jeff was lucky to find a label who can published a poor sound quality material like this one.Great heart but poor quality...Another thing:I never consider lyrics but It's not possible to hear and read only"love, love and love...",world now is hateful, please Jeff change your ideas about that!

From: newscandi Date: September 1, 2007 at 11:01
z4roxx: 80s were "love".. or do I actually mix them up with the 68 generation? --However, we live in the "cold age" of course, but I don't like to hear it over and over again out of my radio (I mean the depressive vibes you get by listening to gothic).

Man, this is AOR! i really disagree with CHAMPIONS, when he said that this is just Rock USA... C´mon give me a break. This is fine AOR stuff by it´s own terms, with songs like "Never Stop Falling" (very popular in a certain radio station here in Mexico) or "Wrong Side Of Love". Maybe it´s right, I also think that there are a lot of songs here and 2 or maybe 4 songs could be left aside, but we have here great melodies, catchy choruses, great voice and a AOR style in the Richard Marx, Cliff Magness and a little bit of Stan Meissner i think.

Touched by love, AOR at it´s finest, melodic hooks with great guitars and that voice... perfect for the style,a real gem, these songs Lucky this time(Mr.BIG),and Never stop falling(MTB)are more sensitive than the others,Jump the gun is like DEF LEPPARD´s Photograph in the begining and the choruses,Stop playing with my heart must be in any top ten of a real AOR lover,in fact a classic,9/10.

From: erik Date: September 15, 2009 at 14:31
The album should have stopped after the Lifeline song. Song 13 and 14 are lacking the aor quality of the other ones. Having said that this is a great album. State of the Heart, Baby Break Mine,Stop playing with my Heart,Jump the Gun, Never stop Falling, Touched by Love, Wrong side of Love and Lucky this Time( which other band did this also was it not FM or the Babys ? )are absolute gems of aor/melodic rock songs. 89/100

This is the trilogy of what i call the best moments of Mr Paris,in my case i think his biggest album is Race To Paradise(up to this date).."Lucky This Time" opens excellently the album this track is one of the best along with "Jump The Gun","Stop Playing With My Heart","State Of The Heart"(not to be confused with Rick Springfield's song that is a cover of a band named Mondo Rock)and "After The Tears Are Gone" which is a beautiful ballad...tracks 2,5,9 & 12 are also good ones..Jeff Paris shamely lives under the shadows of other mega musicians that are in the same line as his and is kinda strange because he's a very talented guy...87/100

read Geoff s comment above ,this is a hard rock masterpiece and it shines in my cd collection.and of course this is not AOR but hard rock music!

My favorite is Wrong Side Of Love! but there are plenty of good songs on here. House on Fire, Lucky This Time(Written by Jeff, but recorded by Mr. Big first), Touched By Love, Stop Playin' With My Heart, & Jump The Gun. I recommend.
