ROBBY VALENTINE IS ONE OF THOSE SMART ASS TYPE OF GUYS WHO CAN WRITE AN EPIC AOR SONG OF MONSTROUS PROPORTION IN A 4 MIN. LENTH STRUCTURE.THIS IS ONE OF ROBBYS FINEST MOMENTS IN HISTORY.AOR WITH CAPITAL LETTERS!!.

From: Daniel Date: May 3, 2003 at 4:43
What can I say? Great AOR and vocal harmonies by Robby Valentine! No one in this planet can do it better than Robby except for Queen. Go check out all his albums, you will not regret it!

This is one of the best AOR/melodic rock albums of all time that´s for sure and you won´t find a musician who can write a mini rock opera like 'I Believe In You' or 'Valentines Overture Part 1 & 2' these days. Musically, this albums is 15 years ahead of it´s release date (1992) and will be very very hard to track down in a couple of years! The vocal harmonies, the guitar/keyboard interplay, the big pompous production and most importantly, the unbelievable songs, it´s all there in abudance.

From: Barracus Date: June 24, 2003 at 14:58
Dunno exactly why but the post made by MarkBoals above is clearly distinctive of someone who's living in Algeciras, that is, south Spain, Europe's ass (nothing to do with John Norum and co.). Yeah, Roberto Corone and his astonishing vocal style makes me unfold a physical narcisism whose existence passed unnoticed. Thanx for listening.

From: Bill Date: October 17, 2003 at 13:36
Buy it and you will beg, steal or borrow all his next albums. IMHO this is even better than Zinatra & Bad Habit. Watch out for the Jap CD edition containing 2 great bonus tracks. Agree with you, Skagarack was a great band, love 'Hungry For A Game'!!!

From: Scandi Date: October 27, 2003 at 22:56
First the bad news: I don't like the singer's voice. He has such a thin, flimsy and high voice ...it's not my cup of coffee. Now the better news: It's very very brilliantly composed and produced music! Highly recommended to dream --I used to listen to his songs via my portable CD-player in bed before sleeping. VALENTINE'S OVERTURE PART I is such an incredible piece of music !

From: Rycheage Date: February 7, 2004 at 17:36
If you want an incredible listening experience, look no further than this brilliant disc. Not to be omitted is the connection to Zinatra- Robby played keys, and co-wrote much of Zinatra's second cd. This easily could have been Zinatra's 3rd release, had they stayed together- very similar in style, only with far better production.

From: Rockhead Date: March 17, 2004 at 5:19
I am a late developer as far as this disc goes and only recently purchased it. So Glad I did as it is an awesome slab of melodic rock, beautifully presented and skillfully pieced together-a winner. Are the rest as good?

Rockhead: Am glad you finally found him! This first one is essential, as are the 3 after it. After the excellent '4 United' CD in 1997 things got a bit patchier, so probably wise to avoid 'No Sugar Added'. 'Believing Is Seeing' is his latest and is not as good as the earlier CDs, but put in context of other CDs from the year 2000 and it's one of the best. His new CD 'The Most Beautiful Pain' is Japan-only and is much delayed but due anyday now...

What can I Say?...This kind of albums let you without words. Robby is a genius. Period.

From: Geoff Date: August 26, 2004 at 6:32
This guy sometimes gets a little over the top for me, but holy f*ck when he writes a good melodic hard rock song you best beware! This album contains some absolutely perfect slabs of melodic hard rock and as long as he's not getting to operatic I love it! Patchy affair for me though.

From: TIM (2) Date: August 26, 2004 at 6:44
So Geoff, this is revenge for the Steelheart comments eh? Patchy? This is utter genious and his first 2 solo albums would probably be the 2 best in my collection of about 2,500. Judging by your tastes you'll probably like the 2nd Zinatra more than this, but I LOVE the OTT moments. If there's ever been a better ballad than 'Over & Over Again' then I haven't heard it, and if you want big keyboard intro's then you have 'Angel' or 'Love Is Alive'. Magnificent. 10/10.

TIM/Geoff - have always loved Robby's stuff - especially the first 2 discs, but have collected all the others aswell which are great also. Do you know when the new one is being released - it's been put back loads of times. Do you like the Valensia stuff - Geoff i suspect that his stuff you won't as it's a lot more over the top than Robby's stuff - Check out his brilliant Kosmos CD if you can.

From: TIM (2) Date: August 26, 2004 at 8:16
Jez, New album is supposed to be heavier but is due out end of September in Japan only. The word on the street is that they won't release it until his backing band are free from commitments and can tour to support it. I love his first 2 and the '4 Union' albums particularly, and the second Zinatra (the first being very average). Valensia doesn't do much for me (apart from the Metal Majesty album) although he's a great singer. Apparently him and Robby can't stand each other...

Loads of them on ebay all of the time. Shouldn't have any problem getting hold of a copy.Check the top this page!!!!!!!You have good taste,as this is one fabulous release.

From: ArnoldLancelot Date: May 25, 2005 at 13:06
With all the comments above, people will probably kill me but I have to disagree with most of them. First, as Scandi said I dislike the voice too(don't get me wrong: it's not bad but not impressive either!). Then the real problem is that from 15 songs the true aor oriented ones are really few(I'd say 5-6 at top!). Then we have incredible compositions vocal and chorus blended wich can be really amazing, but gets too much distance from the aor lines. This is something like Queen to me.

From: Kralli Date: July 27, 2007 at 19:20
One of the best ever! Super tracks all the way to the end!

From: Metzi Date: October 2, 2007 at 7:30
Excellent aor/hard album. Recommended!

From: petermexico Date: April 29, 2009 at 15:58
Robby is a genious, having the Queen school, his music is amazing, I feel his vocal habilities are the less brilliant of his performance, but he´s impressive. Good songs, good arrangements = good music.

From: DonDefo Date: January 28, 2011 at 15:49
Beautiful! I hear Queen and Meat Loaf in the same time + fantastic voice!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 28, 2011 at 21:29
Wonderful debut!!! ...this album is a highly recommended one by all means!!!...good songs, catchy hooks, great melodies...what else can you ask for???...ok,a matter of tastes i guess but i completely disagree with some comments above that rejects the quality of the album(comments that i highly respect but don't share)...best shots:"The Magic Breeze","Broken Dreams","One Day","Over And Over Again"(nice ballad),"I'm Searchin'","Angel","Love Takes Me Higher" & "I Can't Stand Another Day Without You"...this album seems to never end...so many tracks but no matter what you are not gonna get bored with it...95/100...buy!
