Another Pomp masterclass from the Dutch legend,& one that very nearly didn't see the light of day at all. In fact his latest album is due for release by Frontiers later this year also. Despite probably being his 5th best album to date, this is still very classy, albeit with much less of the eccentricity he's famed for. Some more straight-ahead AOR/Pomp is to be found here, with fewer the bombastic instrumentals & interludes, with 'One of These Days' being my personal fave track. Excellent. 8.5/10.

I just love it....thanks to Jez and Tim(2) who piqued my interest! Unlike many releases these days all the tracks sound different and it never becomes a boring predictable listen. I've found it an excellent starting point to start exploring the rest of his works. It's tough to pick a favourite track for me as there are so many highlights.

A long time coming this one, but well worth the wait. As Nick says, the most important thing about this is that it never becomes predictable (like oh so many others) - EXACTLY why I like this guys stuff so much. His 5th best album is probably about right, so with that in mind, imagine what the others are like if you haven't heard 'em. The huge POMP/AOR sound will not be everyones cup of tea i'm sure, but for the rest of us, this is pure heaven on a 5' shiny disc.

WOW ! This one blew me away today ! It was my first spin and what can I say ?? PHANTASTIC !! I can't add much to what Tim (2), Nick and Jez have been saying on top, only that I have not anything before, which was as inspired by Queen and Freddy Mercury as Robby Valentine. Definitely another one of my highlights of 2006 !

Another immense caphitol for this big talent/songwriter.Except the first 2 releases(who I consider awesome)this one it's maybe his best work after the last 2 cds'.It's evident the Queen approach but his touching melodies and arrangments are superior than Queen IMO.What a great talent!!!10/10 for his career!!!!!

Anyone knows how many albums did release LINE?It was I think the first Robby Valentine’s band.Is possibile to find something on cd?Thanks!!!

From: Harald Date: January 8, 2007 at 16:11
Hi z4roxx, I know they did 2 singles (maybe even more...?), one was called 'Solitary Nite', don´t know the title of the other. I have a live CD with 14 tracks called Live Breezand which is very much in the style Zinatra did on the 2nd album The Great Escape, it´s high polished AOR, hope that helps.

From: z4roxx Date: January 15, 2007 at 13:21
Hi Harald, thanks for your infos!!!There are thousand bands I am searching but it’s not possibile to find or simply listen to all because I love also other kind of music, not melodick only!BTW I find LINE pretty good smooth aor, nothin’spectacular but I would like to grab it for Valentine’s presence indeed!!!!Thanks again!

He's got a new one out in Japan called; Falling Down In Misanthropolis. Any one heard it?

From: RVB Date: August 3, 2007 at 10:48
Just listened to the new album Falling Down In Misanthropolis. Great stuff as always, although a bit different. Overall more modern and heavy but it still has that classic Valentine sound. Some weird songs like Rock Me Like A Hurricane and the Abba cover SOS, and some excellent songs like the first three tracks. By the way: I completely don't understand why (at this moment) this isn't released in Europe. (I added the new album today)

The most beautiful pain...ok guys this is a fine release but far from his more AOR previous releases..i mean this one has good songs such as "She (Abandoned Heart)" a song that i basically loved the whole melody of it,"How Many Times" & "Now Or Never"..then we have some goodie ones such as "A New World","I'm Going Under (Sedated)" this one with a catchy chorus,"One Of These Days" sounds like a Backstreet Boys song especially in the chorus line,"The Cold & Lonely Lie" turns to be a nice ballad,"Supernova","Magical Memories" is a 100% Queen influenced with a nice lyrics too,"One Heart" & "Exodus Elephantes...I Can't Get Over You" a beautiful ending ballad..as you can read many songs caught my attention and because i'm open minded i liked this effort, true fans of the purest AOR genre might dislike this but in my case i've enjoyed it...for some this could be the most horrible pain..for me it can keep its name... .85/100
