A good album this one, if Lite Canadian AOR ala Stan Meissner, Michael Z, Bryan Adams etc is your bag. Mr.Schwartz is probably most famous for penning Pat Benatar's 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot'& 'Special Girl' which also appeared on Meatloaf's 'Blind Before I Stop' album - his own versions of which both appear here. This album comprises the 'Private Life' album in full, + 3 tracks from his '78 debut 'Schwartz' and 4 from 81's 'No Refuge' album. Good, solid stuff & a disc I play fairly regularly

Eddie Schwartz is one of the most prolific canadian songwriter. This album is a pure lite AOR masterpiece. Songs like 'Don't Come To Me', 'Time Square Heart' or 'I've Had Enough' are highlights. High class level and great musicianship. Strongly recommended.

Yes this is AOR, but Bryan Adams would have balls of a rhino compared to this. Moreover, Pat Benatar's version of "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" is killer. This one is not. However, "Feed The Fire" is unquestionably a cool ballad & stuck in my head the first time. So for the most part, if some smooth flowing tunes with some catchy melodies & vocals is your thing, then this could do the trick.

Just put my 2 cents to the rating (9,5/10). This is a great cd. Gotta love the 80īs feeling the album has.

Bit of a mixed bag, but all in all, definitely worth getting. First four songs are amazing AOR!
