Highway Chile has done a reuniontour and recorded a live-album with all classics on it and more.............Read about it at the Highway Chile hompage: www.humansound.nl/highwaychile/

I will check that out. This album is a Metal Classic. I wish the production was a little better, but the songs are awesome. It almost has a unique "old west" sound and theme, which is pretty unique coming from a scandinavian band. I have to admit though, their follow up album, with the chick with the bubble gum stuck to her heal, is a turkey.

From: Rene Date: April 24, 2003 at 12:31
This band is from Holland and not from SCANDINAVIAN. The song headbanger is a dutch metal clasic that all dutch metalheads know.

What The Hell!! I Remember this band, heard them on the "Metal Shop" radio show for headbangers in the '80s, I have the song Highway Chile recorded on that show sometime in 1984, I have never heard the rest of the songs on this album, but I bought the next one and it sucked, different singer I believe, the guitar toned down, am I right?? Somebody help me get a copy of this...please!! I'd love to hear the whole album, something I've wanted to do since I was 14 in '84... proent@mtaonline.net

I've been looking for this cd for a long time. It's one of the most kick ass pieces of heavy metal I've ever heard.

I liked this album a lot when it was first released. When I moved to Califonia without my album collection, I purchased it again on cassette. I wore it out. I bought it again on a CD that included Rockarama. Highway Chile without Armand sucked. Storybook Heroes is definitely one of my top 10 all time favorites. I also have For The Wild And Lonely on cassette.

Great album! (Looking back, I can't believe it was so SHORT). One of the best metal albums I remember hearing when I was young. I still have it on LP, but can't find it on cd/download anywhere. Guess I'll have to encode the Lp one of these days. Carol (Lady of the Dark Room) is a masterpiece!

From: Headbangin Man Date: June 26, 2004 at 14:53
This one's pretty good, but no one has mentioned their EP "The Wild and the Lonely" which I believe preceded this one; I think I'm going to pop it in my player right now...AGH YEEESSSS!

Storybook Heroes was a good straight ahead hard rock effort ,the production and mix could have been improve upon. Now when the band put out Rockarama ,the production and mix far exceed Storybook Heroes .Rockarama was Twenty One records push to have HIGHWAY CHILE grab some of the the ears and eyes of the LA hard rock explosion.I must say that Rockarama is on my top ten list ,with songs like Christine,So hard to get ,Broken Promises. This cd is very hard to get your hands on and will grow on you .

hahahaha, along with obscure early 80's bands such as Heavy Pettin, Rodz, Le Mans, Culprit, Wratchild, Exciter, Bodine, etc. This is a blast!!!!! Along with Torch, this is one of my fav early obscure metal albums!!! Kinda heavy but with melodic elements and really can not give a good comparison, cool stuff, CAROL, lady of the dark room, we are Headbangers!!!!! a bunch of us loved this one, now to find on cd!!!!

From: Geoff Date: March 10, 2006 at 0:44
This did absolutely nothing for me. I wanted to like this band, but after hearing all their albums, I'm just as happy to never hear them again. IMO, this is very standard metal / hard rock. Nothing exciting or attention-grabbing at all, IMO. There were a couple of tracks I like of 'Rockarma', but I can't say I'm a fan of the band at all.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: May 5, 2006 at 12:28

Not heaven but neither hell.Standart HM with a touch class.I have it on vynil wich perhaps makes it more apreciateable.

From: dlammers Date: June 16, 2007 at 13:29
Ithought (and still think) this album is brilliant. All of their stuff is very strong. Drummer Ernst Van Ee's other band, Helloise is every bit as good. You can hear either band on their respective myspace pages.

From: happy2849 Date: October 8, 2010 at 1:27
Just played this one again and now I remember why I kept it. Sure, they did not do anything differet then a lot of other band at that time, but they did do it well. Trying to pick a favorite track but having any luck. If you find this one in any format (cd/cassette/vinyl) give it a try. Should satisfy any melodic hard rock/metal fan.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 21, 2011 at 12:28
Another vinyl that i gave some other spins recently....ummmm...as i wrote back in 2006,standart Heavy Metal(melodic one)and nothin' else... songs that are ok for me are "Carol(Lady Of The Dark Room)","Endless Trail"(nice song),"Highway Chile","Run Run" & "Nothing You Can Do About It"(liked this one and perhaps the real "highlight" of the album)...they thank Ted Nugent for a Gibson Byrdland guitar used on the recording of the album...anyway,an ok album but nothing 2 kill 4....80/100
