This is a melodic hard rock masterpiece, a stunning mix of late 80s Bon Jovi and Def Leppard, with enough studio polish to make you think Mutt Lange produced it. This album has more hooks than a tackle box and unbelievably catchy choruses, complete with that huge, layered backing vocal sound. If "Slippery When Wet" made you drool and "Arenalize" made you quiver with excitement, then you need to own this CD. I guarantee you'll take a real shine to it.

THIS is my favorite cd of the 700 that I own without a doubt! To the anthem of Shout It Out, the awesome vocals of Touch Of Love and the warm ballad In Someone Else's Arm's there is not one filler in this collection! This should have been the follow up cd of Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet" If you have to buy 1 cd this year this IS IT! JONHHY LIMA ROCKS!!!

From: WidoMakr Date: February 2, 2002 at 16:11
While I wouldnt say this is my favorite album its not bad....JL sounds like a dead ringer for Bon Pussy Jovi...good tracks....the kind Bon Jovi used to lay down...like in and out of love..she dont know me..etc.....these guys are worth a listen to for anyone who likes the older Bon Jovi stuff...quote the WidoMakr....never more

From: David Date: May 29, 2002 at 4:54
A cross between Bon Jovi and Pretty Boy Floyd, but not all that good. The rating of more than 9 is a bullshit rating

From: crusher Date: June 6, 2002 at 0:53
I don't think DAVID you know too much about real music when you say that...do you actually take the time to listen to the cd? JOHNNY LIMA ROCKS!!!!

From: David Date: June 14, 2002 at 1:07
Crusher, I have just listened to this album again, and I will take back my comments about the bullshit rating, it's quite a good album, I didn't give it much of a go when I first listened to it. My mistake!

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 11, 2002 at 8:37
This cd is ok but his Self Titled is WAY BETTER and personally one of my favorites........Everytime I hear the song ...."Fly Angel".....it makes me sad because it is so beautiful........He must have lost someone in life that he misses very much...........The entire SELF TITLED CD by Johnny Lima is Excellent so if you ever get a chance to BUY that cd then grab it!!!!!

por confusion me baje la cancion wild, young and crazy in love, es lo unico que tengo de este artista, y la verdad que está muy bien. Tiene un toque Bon Jovi en la voz. digo yo

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: December 11, 2002 at 10:02

Perfect album! It makes u steal the girlz at the bakery!

From: Blue Tequila Date: April 15, 2003 at 2:45
Dude...have you SEEN the girls that hang out at the bakery ??!!

From: João Lima Date: June 21, 2003 at 21:52
I use to know some girlz at the bakery, at the buz stop, at the pet shop, at the market, at Lebrão and whatever my hard rocker instinct can take me...

Throw out 'My Country Tis' Of Thee' (Hey Johnny...you were like 8 when Nam was over), and he really nailed it on this one. 'Memory Lane', 'Shout It Out' and 'Wild, Young' are my favorites on this one. The catchy hooks are back with production that makes the S/T sound like 'Too Fast For Love'. Lima is a huge talent. 9.5/10.

Great album, but 'Made in California' is gonna be better.

From: Pierrick Date: November 28, 2003 at 12:06

Easily comparable to Def Leppard, and there are some very cool melodic hard rock moments here. The second song is awesome and probably his best up to the end of this album. Good commercial hard rock.

Mis favoritas la balada “Memory Lane”, breve pero increíblemente emotiva;y“Only the strong will survive”. Vaya tipo!

From: z4roxx Date: October 30, 2005 at 10:44
Production and mixage are a pity,it’s a shameless Bon Jovi’s total plague with choruses and refrains for children but….this is great for me!!Nevermind about these things, the cd runs great,J.Lima knows to grab people with this ruffians riffs and choruses, not a single filler here even it there isn t any kind of originality and he don t discovered nothin’,just grab ffrom someone who made success in the world….

From: headbanger4life Date: January 31, 2007 at 3:51
I agree with the comments comparing his sound to Bon Jovi and Def Leppard. I hear the Leps influence in his music and vocally he is comparable to Bon Jovi. Being this was released in 1999, he picks up the sound that these bands stopped playing years ago. If you miss the good ole days of commercial rock, look no further. A rather enjoyable release for me.

Juraria estar escuchando Bon Jovi jaja pues nada de eso señores aqui Johnny Lima con un Melodic Hard Rock bastante bueno, tan solo escuchar "My Country 'tis of Thee, Only The Strong Will Survivr" que buenos temas a lo igual que "Touch Of Love" & "Star" buenos cortes de este buen disco....

receive this cd today in japan import with two bonus tracks(a real raritie very very hard to find).so i was excited cause i m a very big fan of his first record.result i m disapointed.for me this record is not enough hard.it have not the class, the spark of talent of the fisrt johnny lima s record.the cd start well with a great song in the vein of blue tears.track 2 is an average song johnny in this song is a pure bon jovi s clone.problem he have not his talent.track 3 a great a o r song.track 4 a super song the best of the record.track 5 and 11 two great ballads.i m waiting for some hard rock songs.they will never come.track 6 the choruse is weak, very simple in the vein of the beach boys!.track 7 start well but the choruse don t hooked me.track 8 great choruse but the rest of the song is weak.track 9 is the ice on the cake a riff very very simple in the vein of the sex pistols!!and a choruse very weak in the vein of the beach boys.track 10 and 12 decent a o r songs.not more.

H'm, this album is a bit controversial to me. It starts with Winger alike guitar riff then Jon Bon Jovi clone takes up so that the song could climax with Def Leppard alike refrain... and this model is kept to mostly through the whole album. So, it's not very original but in spite of that I like it a lot! I believe this arena hard rock is played frankly just from the bottom of Johnny Lima's heart. And IMO this is the point music is about. 85/100.

From: hair metal again Date: April 20, 2015 at 5:16
