These guys were very talented but they had no hit material. Anyone notice the Bon Jovi similarities? Both the singers and guitarists of JL and Bon Jovi have similar names. And of course the music sounds like Bon Jovi minus the hits except perhaps for "Speak of the Devil" which could have been a Bon Jovi hit. If you're into well-produced rock, good backing vocals, good everything, with one catchy tune- here it is.

From: Crusher Date: March 11, 2003 at 14:12
Tim,ONE catchy tune!!! Are u on something when you listened to this cd?This is got to be the BEST release in 1996 by far!!! Try listening to this cd again then will talk...to be honest I like his voice WAY better than B on Jovi;s

From: TIM Date: March 11, 2003 at 14:48
He certainly could take Jon Bon Jovi's place at the microphone if he had to but the music is boring to me, no offence.

From: TIM Date: March 11, 2003 at 14:50
Sounds like a bunch of Bon Jovi B Sides.

From: Crusher Date: March 13, 2003 at 14:31
I guess everyone is entitled to there opinion Tim...anyhow fans of OLD Bon Jovi,Def Leppard, and White Lion would love this cd as much as I do!!

From: TIM Date: March 13, 2003 at 15:48
I like all of those bands a lot but this just don't do it. They sound good but the songs are stale to me.

From: tomcat Date: May 15, 2003 at 19:48
yeah, johnny lima does remind me of bon jovi, that isn't necessairy a bad thing right? so anyhow, it's time i hunt down his second disc cos i like this first effort ..my favorite tunes are: 'if i had a heart' and 'little runaway' that i heard again last week at work . batcave777@hotmail.com

From: John Date: October 7, 2003 at 15:18
Does Lima use timeless cliches in his lyrics? Absolutely. Do I care? No friggin' way. He writes the hell out of a melody. Worth it for 'Little Runaway'. I wish songs could have better production. Such is the life of the melodic rock fan in an age of rap/country/bad pop. 8.5/10.

I have listened to thousands of cds and This one is in my Top 10 for sure. . . forget Simon Says, Winters Reign and all that other over-rated stuff . . . This CD is FANTASTIC from start to finish and I must say the power ballad called "FLY ANGEL" is truly Amazing. . . . Keep Rockin Johnny!!!

From: heidi Date: November 8, 2003 at 15:46
It's the same voice like Bon Jovi ten years ago.

que grandes temas, "eden" la podia haber firmado perfectamente U2 que temazo

From: Geoff Date: January 16, 2005 at 1:40
I like Johnny Lima, but I don't see the Bon Jovi vocal comparisons. I don't really like Jon BJ's style these days, but prime time Bon Jovi features an excellent hard rock vocalist. Whilst I like Johnny, I think even he will agree that his voice is not his strongest asset. This is a good collection of commercial hard rock (With pretty lame lyrics as noted - but who cares!) and is musically, IMO, Johnny's best CD... but try to snag a copy of his Attitude CD. That is amazing, and at his true best.

Muy parejo en temas, "Never Gonna Let U Go", "Little Runaway" "Crazy" "Reckless Heart"(mi favorita!).. Su mejor disco? Seguro que sí. 8.9/10

Slick, commercial/melodic hard rock is what we have here, very much in the Bon Jovi vein (back when Bon Jovi was actually playing this kind of music instead of catering to the soccer mom crowd). Some juicy hooks, catchy choruses, good backing vocals, and simplistic lyrics make this a fun album for those who miss the halcyon days of hair-metal. If current Bon Jovi or Def Leppard make you wrinkle your face in disgust like you just sucked on a lemon, then consider Johnny Lima a welcome alternative.

Reading some comments above, yes,Johnny's voice is pretty much like our good old Jon Bon Jovi and the songs could be easily target at any Bon Jovi's early stuff albums(first & second release to say something)...best tracks 4 me are "Never Gonna Let U Go","Little Runaway","Rock'N'Roll River","Crazy","If I Had A Heart"(nice AOR)& "Into Your Arms"...90/100

killer debut album.imagine a mix of bon jovi (first period)and blue tears.remarkable cd even if we have a filler (track 12 is not extraordinary).but the rest my friends waouh!!!!!all bon jovi s fans dreams that bon jovi come back now at his first love (the real american hard f m).i recommand the japan import cause we have two bonus tracks track 13 a super song who could be present on the killer blue tears debut album and track 14 is a message for japans fans.no interest for me.
