What can you really say about Skynyrd: Timeless, Classic, Southern Rock N'Roll at its BEST. Plus the Remastered re-release has bonus tracks. The current Skynyrd band is fantastic also, with that old sound, but updated recording techniques. Many thanks to the Van Zant family for keeping the music going.

Long live the Skynyrd family!!!!! Great album, great songs, one of the best, next to "pronnounced..." and the perfects last four ones.

On Friday November 22 this cd has 16 votes with a rating of 9.3. On Saturday November 23 it has 24 votes and a 7.3 rating. I can not say for sure but it seems that someone doesn't respect what Ronnie and the great Skynyrd band created with this album and wanted it out of the top 25. This alubm is CLASSIC, would have loved to see where the band would have gone with more albums with Ronnie leading the way. The Merle Haggard cover is great and all the other songs are perfect.

this is one of the best musical releases ever. that sweet honkey tonk, southern sound, done as only legends can do it....a definite 10!!!!!!

From: Big Mac Date: March 18, 2003 at 20:51
An easy 10/10. There's no mistaking class.

skynyrds best album yet-Freebird

Just been blaring this out in the car on the way back from rehersals, so was in the mood for some classic Suvvern rock music. This is excellent right the way through and after 'Pronounced' is their best studio release. The expanded version features 5 bonus tracks, which definately add to the original album (unlike some i could mention), in fact all the Skynyrd expanded edition are excellent and are worth upgrading the old ones for.

From: Remastered Reason Date: August 26, 2010 at 13:32
With the term "great" so loosely thrown into any review or trivialized by redundance, Skynyrd's fourth album certainly can be considered the greatest album with original singer Ronnie Van Zant & company. By 1977, Skynyrd finally began cleaning up their act both collectively & personally. As a result, the band never sounded more mature or sure of their direction. Each song here is a winner, epitomized by the tune "That Smell" with Van Zant seemingly intolerant of the vices of the band & himself which they had endured previously & determined to carry on soberly for the most part. They had already written their southern anthem with "Freebird" on their first album, but "Street Survivors" is fresh & envigorating, not the typical raunch & roll.

From: elljam Date: April 15, 2012 at 5:44
Some good songs on here with "What's your name" & "You got that right" hitting the mark. However album highlight has to be "That smell" which must be one of the best songs Skynyrd ever wrote. Rest of the album is between fair & average.
