What happened to Postcards from The Asylem? |
From: Scandinavia | Date: June 15, 2003 at 11:32 |
Yeah...What about "The Witching Hour" & "Black Book"??? |
From: Scandinavia | Date: June 29, 2003 at 5:34 |
By the way Jay Schellen of Hurricane played guitar on "Black Book". Regarding this album it's their first try at breakin' thru' commercially and they don't seem to get anywhere near a breakthru' unfortunately! Chet Thompson is an awesome axeman & together with Ann Boleyn's special vocals one would think there was a solid base for success but the tracks are too "special" for the average listener I guess. Probably works fine live but Hellion seem to have a universe of their own. Cool album though |

there's too much better in the US-scene, even thought this album sounds good. i give a 6,5 out of 10. |

Chet Thompson was my guitar teacher for quite a few years back in the 90's, he's honestly one of the best guitarists out there when it comes to hard rock. Unfortunately I never learned anything about his old band Hellion, I gotta check this out. ;-) |

Frank, do you still keep in touch w/Chet and did you ever study w/Craig Turner? I haven't seen Mrs. Rhoads in a few years but the last time I did she said she hadn't seen Chet in years? Does he still live in the Los Angeles area? He and Craig Turner were fantastic players. |

"Dan the Heavy Harmonies man" needs to list/feature the album, "Black Book" .Chet Thompson, a Randy Rhoads guitar student, was the only redeeming factor this band with this album's single and video for "Bad Attitude" ever had. Too bad he left and killed any chance of musical longevity in the metal genre/style they may have had. I saw them live (minus Chet Thompson) a few years ago. Laaaaaaaaaaaame and very european power metal wannabe generic. |

I still wonder about Chet Thompson. He had endorsements and the exposure that could have resulted in a Shrapnel records contract at least. The nineties musical housecleaning unfortunately ruined our chances of seeing him develop. |

This was Hellions only cd I liked, they put a new cd out in 2003, but to me it wasn't as good as Screams In The Night. Ann is a good singer, but should stick with the material she did on the Screams In The Night cd. |

Good album with strong songs such as "Bad Attitude","Explode"(a killer one!)& the self titled "Screams in the Night" that actually made this album worth buying.Wasn't Greg Pecka a menber of a band named Julliet? |
From: Metal T | Date: June 3, 2009 at 19:20 |
Still have the tape somewhere from the late 80's...always thought the band kinda sounded similar to 'Malice'.Some above average guitar licks & riffs on this one.Unlike ALOT of the fakers out there Ann had the presence & more often than not belted out the heavy metal vox with the conviction to back it up...seemed she kept getting better with every album to boot-See "The Black Book" record...Hellion worked with RJD at one point prior to Screams' if memory serves.-- |

Revisting this over the past few months after not hearing it for quite some time...Chet's playing on here was indeed of the stellar/extraordinary variety on this gem.WAY above average! D*mn good!...Yeah rick,Greg Pecka the drummer is the same guy from 'Julliet' and he also predated Mick Brown in an earlier version of 'Dokken'. |

Listening again to this explosive album!!!...Ann is sure one hell of a singer and frontwoman..."Explode" is my all time fave...then we have tracks 1,2,6 & 8(the drum solo is pretty wicked)that are also good shots...85/100 |
