Heavy Harmonies Review
From: Dan Date: March 16, 2003 at 4:54
I'm going to ignore all the hype and controversy surrounding this album: Supposedly a band that was "about to break big" on the L.A. scene in the late 1980s only to have their material squelched by the "major label" they were under contract with. Now supposedly there's a documentary film about the band in the making. But people "in the know" are saying this is all caca, and there never was such a band; that this is the AOR world's version of Fozzy, a band with a fictitious past.

Frankly, Scarlet, I don't give a damn! Who gives a rat's ass what may or may not have transpired then or now? The bottom line is: Is the music any good? My answer is: Yes. I find this disc a very enjoyable listen, regardless of when it was actually recorded.

Very melodic AOR, a good blend of guitar-driven and keyboard-driven tunes. The lead vocals are slightly accented. Overall, one gets a rather heavy "Scandi-AOR" vibe from the band. For a supposed set of "demos" the production/mix are all quite good; this has more of a feel of a finished product. My favorite tracks are Another Day and This Game of Life. Their cover of Warrant's Heaven is OK, but doesn't capture the same feeling as the original. When all is said and done, this is a solid listen; just leave the hype/story behind.

I really liked this CD but the best of these guys can be heard at their site. These songs are reworked demos with a different singer who doesnt speak english so well. The real band rocks hard.

or u can check out their mp3.com site..i wondered why they did a cover of warrant's "heaven"..aaaah ,you have to give the band credit for sticking to their guns and their material is worth checking out... nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

Covers aside, the original material is strong and consistent in style and delivery and is certainly catchy. For those that like classic melodic rock, with loads of harmonies and straight and simple songs, this is very worthwhile. It has an American feel, but with a European vocalist bringing a more Continental style to it.

Don Lemmon is a SCAM ARTIST BIG TIME! Anyone else order the DOUBLE cd set a few years back from their website, only to wind up waiting seven months for anything at all, and in the end it turns out to be some piece of sh*t CDR with a bunch of drunken outtakes from the band's studio sessions?! Sadly the music was "good" and did "rock", but I won't be a supporter of lies and stealing for any reason! Leave that to Donald f*cking Trump and GW Bush! Bottom line, White Diamond is a joke, literally! 0/10

From: Anti-Carsten Date: January 14, 2004 at 7:02
I emailed their website yesterday after reading your post and the webmaster said there was some jabroni who kept claiming he didn't get his CD but in fact had signed for it so they sent him a CDR as a joke because he tried to scam them. I think that's funny. Story aside, I saw they were #1 at MP3 for a while. The music can't be THAT bad... Wish I could hear it but MP3 is down. Cry to your momma Carsten, you sound like a girly man to me!

From: Carsten Date: July 23, 2004 at 17:28
Hey Anti-Carsten! Go read Dice Jacobsen's story at the web site link he provides! Then tell me what you think of Don "F*ckin' Lemmon and his lies! Like I'm not smart enough to know when I've been scammed! Oh and by the way, with regard to YOUR lies: The web site is gone! Kuput! Finished! So you talked to the webmaster (supposedly!), like a freaky geek that watches over their site would know about a specific incident! (continued...)

From: Carsten Date: July 23, 2004 at 17:31
(continued...) Also, I PAYED for a 2 disc cd set I NEVER RECEIVED!! Also...when was the last time you "signed" for any single cd sent 1st Class mail to your house? NEVER! F-U! Your the mommas boy...it's easy to tell...only someone who is would use that expression! Get an education and then a friggin' clue loser! White Diamond is fictitous, it's a fact. Buy the Winter Parade cd or whatever they are going to call themselves now and shove the White Diamond back in your ass to turn into coal!

From: Geoff Date: August 17, 2004 at 1:05
As noted in the main review, I can't believe this is not a Scandi band! The dude on vocals in obviously from abroad, and this is a great commercial hard rock album done very much in the style of many Scandi acts. The opener, 'Symbol of love' is wonderful and 'It's so funny' is an excellent track too. While the CD is not brilliant it is a very good slice of enjoyable hard rock.

You might want to visit www.whitediamondrockband.com before listening to this fanatic. Seems there was a soundtrack made using a couple of Winter Parade members but a total of 24 songs by the actual White Diamond band. You know dude, you give the net a bad name with your childish flaming. If you really got scammed, why on earth didn't you take it up with the guy behind it all, Don Lemmon? He is one of the most respected publishers online today, married to Asia Carrera for heaven's sakes. He is a

I do not know about the controversy, the music rocks under any condition and should be rereleased along with the new album I just read about.

From: what-the Date: September 9, 2005 at 3:15
You know, I saw the site, I listened to the clips, I read all I could and I think if this Lemmon guy is a liar, he is damned good one. Look at all the people he works with.

Good stuff! Imagine a mixture of Hotwire's debut album and T'Bell. My fave songs are the keyboard-dominated "This Game Of Life" and the Seven Skys-esq "All My Love". "Symbol Of Love" is also pretty darn good. The rest is okay for me, but not killer.

From: juan carlos Date: October 13, 2008 at 23:42
Catchy and Nice AOR album with HardRock touches. Very good cover about "Heaven" song but my faves are "This Game of Life"(Contagious Keyboards!!) "It's Just Another Day"(Great start!) "All My Love" "It's So Funny" and "Symbol of Love". Great voice of Don Lemmon(reminds me of Michael Kiske). Great solos/Tunes too. Excellent album. Btw what a funny cover hahaha.. i´m referring to "Manowar" obviously! well "Man of God" 8.8/10

From: Delbert Date: January 18, 2010 at 13:15
What you get here is a US band that plays comercial melodic hard rock/AOR that sounds more like a Euro/Scandi band. If you're into TALK OF THE TOWN, MASQUERADE and MADISON, you'll like this release. They use a nice blend of guitars and keys I might add. Being a fan of Scandi style melodic rock, I thoroughly enjoyed this one.....

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 17, 2011 at 22:08
Good release with that typical AOR sound, plenty of keys and a very acceptable vocalist...my faves are "Symbol Of Love","American Dreamer","This Game Of Life" & "All My Love"...the Warrant cover and the Manowar one are good(as a curiosity the lyrics of "Man Of God"/"Kings Of Metal" actually/have been change )....recommended stuff....87/100
