It is utterly impossible to pack any more angry, pissed-off attitude onto a melodic metal album than SLEDGEHAMMER LEDGE, a heavy-edged power-rock band that makes Skid Row looks like wusses. Vocalist Chris Childs has a killer set of lungs, spitting & screaming the lyrics with a force that is rarely seen in the melodic metal genre. The big guitars and gang backing vocals complete the picture. Any fan of ultra-aggressive melodic-sleaze metal needs to give this puppy a spin.

I've met these guys and seen them play, and I also have thier demo when they were legs up. I think this band kicks a lot of ass.

From: TIM Date: February 24, 2002 at 16:33
Much harder than the average "Sleaze" band. They are really sleazy metal. I agree with both of these guys- Sledgehammer Ledge rocks!

From: TIM Date: May 1, 2002 at 22:30
M. Allen, have you ever listened to Skitzotik? If you like these guys, you may appreciate their work.

From: Date: April 2, 2003 at 5:23
this cd isn't bad but they were a lot better when they were called legs up. and I don't think legs up has a cd out. I bought a legs up cd on ebay and it was burned and had 2002 as the date on the back. If someone knows or hears of any legs up orginal cds let me know

An up-and-comer in the early 90's L.A. metal and rock scene. Originally known as Legs Up, but as the times changed with the coming of Nirvana and alternative, the sleaze metal outfit pursued a heavier more traditional musical direction as SledgeHammer Ledge. The sound is in the vein of W.A.S.P.'s first release as evidenced by Childs' possessed cry of "Wake The Dead for Me!". Besides the first track, On and On, and It Ain't Pretty, along with Salute The Trash seem to be the strongest material.

From: Blackie L. Date: April 8, 2003 at 19:11
Lock Your Door is leftover from Legs era and is a satisfying rememberance of their street rock roots. Unfortunaly, the slower more ballad-type songs such as No Heart At All and Billy just seem strange and don't fit in as well with the better written songs. The remaining few are filler material that carry the sound but just not enough personality to them. Overall, a very interesting and enjoyable cd. One can only wonder where the band could have gone if not for the mid 90's musical climate.

From: SPOTLIGHT Date: May 31, 2003 at 16:59
Haven't heard this album. But, the LEGS UP demo was freakin' killer. I've still got that, packed away to be passed on to the next generation. Wouldn't mind getting that one on CD so I can enjoy it once again. Yeah...whatever happened to these guys?? (creeper@sunlink.net)

From: TIM Date: May 31, 2003 at 20:14
You're in luck- there are 2 copies on Ebay right now.

From: tomcat Date: December 27, 2003 at 21:58
"salute the trash" is one hell of a great song...this entire cd did remind me of skid row's 'slave to the grind' and also 'shake the faith;america the violent'. buy it if you find it

From: metalhead Date: February 8, 2004 at 21:58

Anyone looking for this can find it at CD Baby for $10.00. Awesome disc in the vein of early WASP.

From: B.Grimm Date: October 12, 2004 at 21:47
Just got this from cd baby and it was worth every penny. Made me think of real early Blackie and that is a compliment coming from one who owns everything that says W.A.S.P. I'd love to hear their earlier stuff as Legs Up. Does anyone know where I can acquire a copy of their demo works? Thanks. everlovinblueyedthing@gawab.com

From: J.P. Date: November 11, 2004 at 1:11
Hey everybody thanks for the support and the likes and dislikes of the band (can't please everyone) we did what we wanted, we lived how we wanted and had a BLAST. We laughed, fought, struggled, starved, and played like no tomorrow. I still live that way (yes we're all still alive, many said we would die before 28). Legs UP/Sledgehammer Ledge was a great time. I'm working on releasing early Legs Up stuff, some of the most raw, pissed off, fuck off, no tomorrow rock-n-roll. Rock On... J.P. (bassis

This is one band either as Legs Up or Sledgehammer Ledge that should have been signed to a major label. Killer sound, attitude and image. Met them at the Akron Agora at a Lillian Axe show and they were cool as hell to boot. To this day, I listen to "Wake The Dead" on my headphones at the gym. J.P., please leave your contact info, would love to get a CD of the Legs Up stuff instead of my homemade CDr from the cassettes

From: J.P. Date: January 15, 2005 at 23:47

J.P., I'm sure that the Leg's Up disc will be a hit!! I've heard nothing but very positive feedback on the album. Can't wait for its release!! When you know a release date can you tell us?? Thanks. David.

From: Dead Planet Date: July 28, 2006 at 17:57
After all the positive comments above, I decided to pick this cd up last year. I must admit to being completely underwhelmed. It's not terrible, just very ordinary, after a couple of listens it has been turned into a dust magnet....

From: IronSaviour Date: November 7, 2006 at 19:09
I totally agree with M. Allen. They're like Skid Row meets Skitzotic but with more of an attitude. I can't imagine anyone more pissed off than Bach until you hear childs and the track "salute the trash" is one awesome tune.

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: August 28, 2007 at 2:08
GOOD CD angry SLEAZY "TRASH R'n'R" UNDERGOUND METAL !_80/100 THE VOICE is kind of early BLACKIE LAWLESS meet DR MASTERMIND aka M.Mc COURT ! the whole band remind me of JET BLACK and their 1994 cd produced by PAUL SHORTINO but even better ! The comparison with SKITZOTIK is right but they had a more metallic EDGE ! /

From: Metal T Date: January 14, 2008 at 10:06
Killer Disc! Very heavy with alot of edge and a ton of attitude. If you like early-W.A.S.P. you'll dig this badboy.Definitely more "metal" than most sleaze/glam bands.Highly f'n recommended.----
