Good pop metal. Some nice sleazy numbers and a couple of decent ballads. Nothing really memorable, and the vocals are a little weak.

'make a wish" is a cool ballad although 'jesse strange' did a better job performing this song. and love potion n.9 is a covertune... but it's a good cd, typical late eighties. nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

If you're looking for great musicians, and a great (Beau Hill) production, this is the disc to acquire. Good songwriting as well. I've replaced this in my collection twice due to wearing out a cassette, and someone stealing my CD...and damn it, I'd do it again too. Well above average quality here.

Beau Nasty was being groomed by the label to be a commercial metal band. The record entitled Dirty But Well Dressed was produced by Beau Hill and Paul Winger. The first single off the debut record was called Shake It and received moderate airplay on MTV's Headbangers Ball. The band completed two tours of the US and Canada. Thanks ARXONTAS, it's very hard finding any info about Beau Nasty. But I wonder why they never put out a follow up to this album. It would have been only 1990 or '91 when the second album would have come out and that would have been before the Seattle bands really started getting popular. Too bad there was never another release from these guys. Very under-rated band.

This is indeed very good, true hard rock, blessed with an excellent production. Not a classic, but certainly worth having in your hardrock collection. A pity that this kind of pure hardrock isn't made these days. Now it's all modern rock crap !!!

I'm sorry boys but Beau Nasty was an awful band and the record was nearly unlistenable! Too many bells, whistles, and Winger wannabe tricks for me. Do you remember the "Shake It" video? These putzes were on a full stage with full lights, as if they were Whitesnake! I remember thinking, who the hell are these posers? I bet Jizzy from Love/Hate hated having to tour with the likes of Loverboy meets Winger. Just putrid.

To the previous poster: I have been a fan of AOR/Glam/Hair rock since 1982. I own almost every thing the hair factory put out in the 80's. It just so happens that Beau Nasty was not one of the better offerings. If they are a pet of yours I respect that. My pets happen to be Electric Boys, Steelheart, Love/Hate, and TKO. In the grand scheme of things Beau Nasty was third rate at best. The album sucked and they are rightfully gone forever. "Dirty, But Working at Denny's"

If you're a fan of big, loud, attitude-driven hard rock, you'll fall in love with this band. The guitars burn full-throttle, igniting some red-hot riffs & great hooks. Beau Hill executive produced and his midas touch is all over this album, which, as far as I'm concerned, is a good thing. "Paradise in the Sand" ranks as one of the best power ballads of the late 80s, a very well-done song guaranteed to make you reach for your lighter. Some people call these guys posers...I call 'em pros.

I think this one grows on you...I wasn't too impressed at first but the SAINTS N SINNNERS-like hardrock with the superb production really rocks....It calls for some serious listening since Beau Nasty seems to be a bit hard to love at first encounter...Hmmm...The vocals are close to Mark Slaughter at times...ROCK N ROLL!!!

I just wanna say two words Mike Terrana. That is the best thing with the whole album. And yes maybe gemini is a great tune. But that's it about this album i'm afraid. Great production but there are much better albums in the same vein out there. Have it on vinyl.

Very underated band, singer has a great raspy but high voice, big production sound which was sool cool of the eighties. Shake it absolutely rocks and you can't get a better power ballad than paradise in the sand, has a couple of lesser songs but overall better than a lot of the other hair bands. Jay from Australia

Just picked up the promo version of the album which was titled "Shake it" and I gotta say the album was good,just not stunning! As has already been said,Jesse Strange did a version of Make a wish which was far superior & Love potion was a cover,the rest of the tunes just seemed to lack that spark I love. Dont get me wrong,I like the album but it aint gonna be an all time fave!

Really enjoyed it when it came out 'cause it had this big sound by Beau Hill, catchy songs with big guitars and so on. Now I must admit this band could not make history because obviously the purpose was to ride on the wave and they were 1 in 1 million though quite good in the style. They could have more success but they also could have never existed ... Quite good in this style but carefull not to overestimate this band.

Wow!! amazing band with great sound!!!!! There are alot of hair bands that put out albums in the 80's and 90's but only a select few have a distinctness about them and Beau Nasty is one of those bands. I have amassed an extensive collection of 80s-90's glam/pop/rock metal and a good number of them sound just like ACDC, KISS or Ratt. Cudos to the boys in Beau Nasty for venturing out and creating their own unique sound!! I sure wish a followup was in the works....whattya think guys?

Beau Nasty was a typical late 80's sleaze band, releasing a brand of good time hard rock similar to that of Britny Fox. One album and a couple of tours was all the band managed to accomplish before fading into obscurity.

Nothing original on this cd but I still like it quite a bit. Since i got into this one before i heard Jesse Strange, I prefer Beau Nasty's version of "Make A Wish" For some reason these guys always reminded me of early Warrant.

Why wasn't this band bigger? Simple the singer was horrible live. I saw them twice both times he couldn't pull off the vocals that were recorded on the album. As if that wasn't bad enough, as a frontman he had all the talent of a peanut. Ok, you got me, thats not fair to the peanut. As for the album it is a very well PRODUCED album. Songs are well written and perfomed. If you like this style of muic pick it up. I give this one a 8.5 (I'm listening to it now)

I´ve read in a Brazilian metal magazine called ROADIE CREW an interview with Mike Terrana, the drummer, in which he said Beau Hill didn´t produced this record. He just went to the studio one day and never returned, Paul Winger did the entire work. Everything was just an agreement with the record company, put the name of a great producer on the record cover to enhance the sales. Anyway, there are great melodic hard rock songs in it: Paradise in the Sand is the record´s highlight, the best!

This should be a classic for everyone who calls themselves fans of traditional hard rock. This is one of the best albums ever recorded in the genre, and it's a disaster that CBS didn't manage to make this guys big stars. Imberresing for the metalgenre that posers like Guns'n'Roses make it big, when those who really deserve it just vanish.

great release here.has previous band members of obscure rockers hanover (aka hanover fist) no wimpy songs here. they all kick major ass. too bad hanover never got the recognition they deserved because the stuff they put out kills even this release. don't believe me? find their release hungry eyes and give it a listen. it will floor you!

Great cd! Big Choruses,Best tracks are 'Shake It' which was a MTV video and 'Gimme Lovin' which has a pretty cool chorus.I had some Beers with Brian Young a few years back in Dublin when he was playing guitar with David Lee Roth.Really Cool Guy!!!!!

Muy buen HardRock con sus toques Sleazy, excelente producción del afamado Beau Hill. Resalto los grandes coros y los buenos solos. "Shake It" me recordó por momentos a los Cinderella Bueno coro/Solo, "Paradise in the Sand" muy buena Semi-Balada que me recordó a los Trixter, buen tema Sleazy en "Dirty, But Well Dressed" y mis favoritas van al final: "Gemini" temazo (mi favorita) y mi 2º fav. "Make a Wish" Rock Melódico total. Recomendado. 8.5/10

This is diry hard rock done right. Great songs, dirty vocals, hooks that sink right in, and choruses that stick in your head all day. "Gemini" is one of my favourite hard rock songs and the best on the album, "Piece Of The Action" gets the pulse going with a great chorus and guitarwork, "Love Potion #9" is a very well-done cover, and the 2 ballads are near perfect. Their version of "Make A Wish" is better than Jesse Strange's version, IMO. They should've been huge. 9/10

Yeah, like some others said, very good hard rock/glam release from 1989. Hard rockin' glam in the style of Cinderella, Hericane Alice, Ratt, and bands like that since the singer has a very high and rough voice. Good musicianship and production. This is one you need to add to your 80's hard rock/glam collection. Some good hard rockin melodies sure to please. "Paradise In The Sand" is a great song. Probably my favorite on the disc. 88/100

Another one of my blind buying adventures back in the day. Shake it, Gemini, The cover -Love potion #9, the 2 ballads-Paradise in the sand & Make a wish(which was also done by Jesse Strange,both good) Piece of the action & Gimmie lovin' are my picks. I recommend!

superb hair metal release by BEAU NASTY and a must have for every hard rocker!dont really get the negative comments ,as it is almost perfect from every aspect and offers great rockers &ballads!i bought the vinyl when it was out and spinned it a lot back in the day and still sounds massive!

Time to expand! A coworker of mine, who knows of (but doesn't necessarily share) my love of hair metal, threw Beau Nasty's name out at me the other day, just to tease me. No idea how she ever heard of them. And so I found myself revisiting this, their one and only album. Best thing about it is the big production, followed by some ripping guitars, par for the course at the time. In fact, those last seven words sum up the album: there were dozens, if not hundreds of bands like this by '89, and with songs that are just okay, Beau Nasty didn't have a prayer of standing out. The album checks all the boxes, with some stripper-pole shuffles, a couple of gross (yet not very memorable) ballads, and a cover of an AM-RADIO moldy-oldie. The singer reminds me a bit of Marq Torien with his untamed shriek, particularly on the very Bulletboys-ish title track. That song, along with the single "Shake It" and "Gimme Lovin'" are the highlights for me. This was too under-the-radar for me to know about in '

... 1989, but I doubt I would have bought it if I had heard it. Best uses are for inserting one of the good songs into a party-rock playlist to serve as a welcome curveball among more familiar songs.
