| Won't call it Westcoast, cause the songs are mostly uptempo aor. Great melodic rock, all songs are memorable and R. LeBlancs vocals fantastic as always. No fillers imo, like it a lot. 86/100

| After well over a dozen collaborations, apparently Slama and Denander decided to make an album for people who don't really like their AOR project. Blue Ambition shares few similarities with their westcoast efforts and instead delivers a more commercial melrock sound with an emphasis on soaring guitars. Often upbeat, occasionally moody, and almost consistently mid-tempo, these songs have more of an arena sound and make good use of Robbie LaBlanc's vocals. "Wired Angel" sounds like Survivor at their fluffiest, "Paradise Hunter" has a memorable chorus, and "Clear Storm" reminded me of Asia. It's not all great, though. "Diamond Blue" is the closest we get to a westcoast track but it probably won't impress diehards, "Without Compromise" has a bit of a weird chorus, and a handful of the remaining songs are purely middle-of-the-road entries. Still, the album gets my recommendation. I don't expect S&D to continue this trend, but it's nice seeing them produce something more conventional.
