Pretty nice band with plenty of original hooks and good riffs as well. I regard this compilation as correct, considering that the selection has been fair. Even their last studio album which dates back from 1997 retains their magical touch! 9.5/10.

Baton Rouge is one of the best Melodic Rock Acts in the 80ies ! I have the three regular Albums since years and all are winners in my opinion.OK,Shake your soul ist the best album, but the rest is very good too.Great Melodic Hardrock, with big Guitars and Choruses. I don`t buy this Best Off Album, because the few bonus Tracks are not enough. For every Newbie on Baton Rouge is this a fine collection of songs.I hope they bring us a new record in the near future ! Greetings from Melo !

i would love to hear the 2 bonus songs, anyone have a comment?

All four bonus tracks are awesome, Alice Cooper does a fantastic job of Love's a Loaded Gun from his Hey Stupid release. Here is the video link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=542oH28HENY

Another enjoyable but totally faceless melodic pop-metal band. THey go for the smooth-voiced, technical thing, with a little flash,a little attitude, but not too much of either. The whole thing just feels very much like a "project" rather than a band somehow, like it wwas born in a boardroom rather than a garage. All the ingredients are there which would've moved product in the waning hair daze, but the songs and performance are just so generic, they didn't stand out in any way. This is fourth0tier stuff here, remembered only by obscurists and obsessive collectors. If you even need them at all, this compilation (clamored for by no one) offers the best of their three releases. The word that best describes them is "proficient": well-crafted, well-played, but utterly average songs.

As a big fan of this band, I am appalled at the tracks selected for this 'best' of. So much so, I have logged in for the first time on this website in over 15 years. One of the more under appreciated, unheard bands of the early 90's when the grunge explosion drowned out the 80s rock scene, this band always stood out to me as a riff machine, as if Captain Hook from Peter Pan sprang to life and wrote 80's rock. Almost every song they wrote was good and because of that you could do no wrong making a best of. Unfortunately, whoever decided to make this collection was not a fan of their music. Songs seemed to be picked at random from all three of their albums. Literally all of their worst songs were chosen for this album, while most of their best were left off. A band like this, who had very little commercial success, should have a more fan-driven approach to a best of album, and I feel this one is severely lacking. My opinion on their top 15 songs (as 15 was chosen for this album) are:
