this one is a tough one.allen/lande the battle was one of the best releases of all time in this scene, and the expectations were high.first two or three times of listening i thought ok very good but not so special afterall.but then several times after this one opens and gives just what i wanted.first seven tracks are classics, last three are "fillers".but then again the battle has 3 fillers too(1,2 and 9)lande is the name you can trust.i can say that this one is allready the best releases of the y

I don't really connect lyrically with Jorn releases, but f*ck me, he's really growing on me. Always enjoyed ALL his albums, all very good. But stuff like this is so damn solid. Superb musically, good solid songs with good hooks. It's a great listen. The first track is great, 'Blacksong' is one of my faves, 'Stormcrow' is a riff driven monster, and my fave of the album is probably 'End of time'. Great track with layered hooks, great feel to it. Love it. Very strong album, will not disappoint.

Wow, another winner from Jorn. What can I say...this is a more straight ahead traditional metal release than his solo back catalogue, but as mentioned above is so musically/vocally solid that it just cant be ignored and will prob feature in my top 10 of '06! The production here is awesome as you come to expect from a Lande related album. Highlights for me are 'Stormcrow' (barnstorming rocker) and 'Burning Chains' (fab ballad aka Coverdale). Only 8 new songs, but 7 are outstanding. 9/10

I can only agree with all the comments above. This is really good, folks. Opening track could easily be at any golden-era DIO albums, what a great doom metal song. Stormcrow has a killer riff that made me check the credits looking if it is Zakk Wylde playing there. Burning Chains is Jorn at his best David Coverdale, while The Duke Of Love sounds a lot like Motley Crue's Dr.Feelgood album. And End Of Time is a personal favourite, what a great song, reminds me a bit of Bridges Will Burn (from Worl

continuing... (from Worldchanger) That's what we have here, my friends, a great, well balanced album, that could only have another new song instead of Starfire remake (the only weak point here). Buy it at any cost.

Maybe his best and most solid solo effort to date. I agree with first reviewer, hevi - this one is a grower. I was slightly disappointed after first couple of listens but not anymore. The production is of the usual high standard we've come to expect when it comes to Jorn and the musicianship is fantastic of course. One thing concerns me a little though, the vocal lines are starting to sound a little too recognizable. A few more new songs would've been nice too. The first 4 songs are magnificent.

Every album release by this man simply rocks!!!...very versatile with his voice(a wild mix of Ronnie James Dio & David Coverdale)..."Blacksong","Stormcrow","Duke Of Love" & "After The Dying" are top notch tracks!!!...recommended release...88/100
