I own a promotional copy of this cassette and I wouldn't part with it for anything. This tape is awesome!

From: Steve F. Date: May 7, 2001 at 20:26
I've got a tape of it, too, but I wouldn't weep over losing it. I gave it a decent rating (6.5) because the playing is pretty darn proficient, but the music shows what went haywire with 80's hard rock. In short, the songs were either derivative of other bands (Flood does a good imitation of DLR) and tended to wander astray after a while; I got the feeling that all the band members wanted to upstage one another, usually at the songs' expense. Not the worst, but I'd wouldn't pay $15 for it.

From: Kevin D. Date: June 10, 2001 at 1:34
A lot heavier than I thought it would be. A sort of Poison meets Iron Maiden. I really like it.

From: Dan F. Date: October 13, 2001 at 13:16
1. Steve F. is an idiot, and Flood sounds nothing like DLR. 2. This is definitely one of the most underrated releases in rock history! If you like power metal that is also very melodic with AWESOME vocals and a guitarist that will blow you away, than this one is for you. Nine AWESOME songs and two instrumentals. Every song is KILLER!

From: Finnian Lad Date: December 22, 2001 at 15:49
Banshee is incredible. To Steve F. DLR- give it a rest, Van Halen sucks and David is the lead schlong muncher. Very melodic in my opinion, much like Dream Theateror Fatesd Warning, though nowhere near as intense lyrically.

From: T Bone Date: December 31, 2001 at 20:50
We have put several songs of this band on our personal CD and cannot understand why?? we cant find this tape anywhere.

From: Jenni Date: January 19, 2002 at 17:36
Banshee rocks! I have heard of them but recently heard their song 'Race Against Time' on the radio...yes kids, the radio. I had to have their songs. I don't see where the singer sounds ANYTHING like that fag David Lee Roth. Banshee rocks more!

From: Date: February 26, 2002 at 16:22
Steve are you DEAF maybe Banshee rocks

From: RainStar2k Date: March 3, 2002 at 23:31
Banshee sounds alot like Iron Maiden in some places to these ears but they have a few brief shining moments of originality as well. 'Precious Metal' is a gift from a higher being. I LOVE that song! A+ stuff although I can't see the VH similiarties?

From: RVK Date: March 12, 2002 at 0:12
I got a compilation video with 'Shoot Down the Night' on it, and I FELL IN LOVE with BANSHEE!! SO killer, I love this band. I gotta admit though, 'Shoot Down the Night' gives a different impression if that's the only song you've heard. The rest of the album is MUCH harder. But I do agree with the comment above, it's like Poison meet Maiden. BUT, track 6 is almost AC/DCish in that it picks up through the song. Bottom line, AWESOME BAND, AWESOME SONGS, AWESOME ALBUM. THEY RIP!!!!!!

From: Shoemaker Date: April 19, 2002 at 23:52
Yeeeeeeeeeees, I only heard a few of the songs, because the album seems to be rare and hard to get, but I do agree with some comments here. Banshee sound brilliant, they are hard and fast, but not brutal, with lots of melodies. A bit Maiden, a handfull of Fifth Angel and some US Mötley C. influenced elements. They should be BIG indeed.

From: Date: April 29, 2002 at 18:03
Banshee has an earlier ep that absolutely rocks!! Have seen them several times in the middle 80's. Dunn was guitar master in KC at that time!

From: Van Alan Date: July 17, 2002 at 21:36
I have their first EP 'Cry In The Night' on cassette. I wish I could find the EP on CD at a normal price. A song from the debut EP, 'We Want You', is on Metal Massacre volumes 8 & 9 (2 on 1 CD). If you can't find the EP, get the compilation. The song is a must hear if you are a hard rock/metal fan!

From: Louis Date: January 4, 2003 at 22:47
I just found out about these guys yesterday. They seem pretty cool. I've only heard one song 'Shoot Down the Night'. Do their other songs sound anything like Trixter or Britny Fox? They sure look just as cool.

From: koogles Date: January 5, 2003 at 3:13
Louis: lead singer has the shrill yelp of a Rob Halford. More metal than glam, not bad, but not essential.

From: pepe le pew Date: February 3, 2003 at 7:17
BANSHEE SUCK, I CANT UNDERSTAND......WHERE IS THE ORIGINALITY HERE????? SKID ROW RULES

From: Trick Taylor Date: February 3, 2003 at 18:00
'Shoot Down the Night' held boatloads of promise, but the rest of the disc delves into ambiguous Priest pop power metal not unlike Leatherwolf or Malice. Pretty silly at points, ('If life is a highway, I'm goona cruise down it my way, at 150, to the land of the plenty.') What the hell does that mean? Release 'Shoot...' in 1985 and it would have been a hit. Then they would have had time to 're-discover' the blues and co-headline with Great White and Cinderella.

From: Steve F. Date: February 10, 2003 at 2:56
It's been over two years since I wrote my opinions on it, and it hasn't changed one iota. Typical chessey 80's metal with above-average playing that was released five years too late. And yes, I still think Flood listened to 'Eat 'Em and Smile' one too many times.

From: Richierocker Date: March 27, 2003 at 13:26
I heard these guys were reissuing there cd's.

From: ace66 Date: April 21, 2003 at 15:18
Can anyone tell me when these guys will reissue CDs.I dig US Metal

From: TIM Date: April 21, 2003 at 15:21

Won this on Ebay a couple of weeks ago, arrived in mail today!Great cd I must say !! I love bands like Leatherwolf, Icon, Vicious Rumors, so really enjoy these guys!

From: ChrisSlade Date: December 12, 2003 at 17:45
Killer album and solid from start to finish! Has a latter Whitesnake feel to it but heavier.

From: beer tender Date: January 13, 2004 at 21:51
this band sucks there music has no energy to it another one that put me to sleep

From: Terry Dunn Date: January 26, 2004 at 15:59
Thanks for all the nice comments about my band Banshee,Wish we could get back together but probably wont happen, there is much bad blood between members, if anyone has any Banshee related questions you can email me at td@base11.com for the true Banshee story, not the make believe story Tommy Flood has tryed to portray Thanks again Terry Dunn

From: Dean Date: January 26, 2004 at 17:00
Anyone looking to download mp3s of all 3 Banshee releases go to Mothermetal.com. Awesome site with a lot of hard to find stuff.

From: Agnar Date: January 30, 2004 at 14:30
Oh yes Bashee it's a very good cult band! My favourite moments are the nearest to Vicious Rumors-like Metal, 'Call of the Wild' is a bright example i think.

From: MIKE S Date: February 11, 2004 at 14:09
Simply one of the best metal bands of all time. This release is top notch melodic metal with PUNCH! Not one weak track on this or ANY Banshee release. As mentioned above, if you like bands like Leatherwolf, Malice, Vicious Rumors, etc. do yourself a favor and pick this up - you'll be glad you did!

From: Hip2u Date: February 27, 2004 at 6:51
I was the guitar tech for a band (Young Gunz/Dynamite Mary) that practiced in the same room where Banshee practiced during the time they were recording for Atlantic. By far, IMHO one of the most underrated bands of their time. I still have an mint Cry In The Night album that came with two albums as a mistake. One's never even been touched. I still talk to Tommy at concerts and he's a super nice guy. PS They did a killer version of Over the Mountain.

From: Metal T Date: March 22, 2004 at 20:59
Yet,another underrated gem.The music and vocals have some extra thump that give this band an edge over most of the over-hyped / overrated million album sellers that were kiss-asses and sucked off the big wig record execs. Banshee' were not a kiss-ass band, but rather a Kick-Ass band . -------------------

From: ace66 Date: March 23, 2004 at 14:40

From: Rocker76 Date: May 20, 2004 at 18:44
Kick ass melodic metal!! They sound like they may have been influenced by old Queensryche a little...throw in somewhat of a Leatherwolf vibe and you have Banshee! Great album if you're into classic 80s metal!

From: Geoff Date: June 4, 2004 at 3:23
This is cool stuff. Picked up the CD real cheap ages ago. Great metal and am I a whuss if I mention how much I absolutely love the track, 'Missing you'. One of my favourite ballads of all time. Cool CD.

From: Angel Date: October 5, 2004 at 0:46
I put the very first comment on this band like 3 years ago, and they STILL rock. It would be heaven on earth for this band to put it back together and show these nu-metal piss ants how to play music.

From: Date: November 9, 2004 at 14:14
im in hutch kansas...i know..nothing to brag about. wasnt bill from hutch as well?

From: BIG-TIME Date: October 22, 2007 at 19:00
Dont like it at all! all I hear is Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Dio, this should be on BrutalMetal. If your into Heavy Metal and NOT!!! AOR and Hard Rock etc then get this, if like me your not into Metal DONT PLEASE...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: juan carlos Date: November 23, 2007 at 13:48

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 27, 2010 at 21:55
When i started to listen the album i was not that impressed... "Shoot Down The Night" caught my attention but then i realized that the track has some kind of ups and downs beats that wasn't too nice 2 listen and also track #2 "All Alone" had also the same effect on me but when i thought that was it for me to continue listening the album, came "Race Against Time" that turned out 2 be a good song and from that track onwards my appreciation really changed!!,"Call Of The Wild" is a kicking hard song,"Precious Metal" is a very good solid metal number,"Desire" is another goodie and "Drive Like Hell" is just that..a hell of a track!...a good decent album 4 sure.84/100
