I totally agree with Chris. This album will please any Roxette fan. Sounds a little bit like the last albums of Heart too. There are some good songs and the voice is very clear and sweet. The beauty in Hard Rock is to appreciate differences in style and music: Alyson Avenue gives this something different. To my opinion it is a good album in terms of light rock.

Tomcat, I am pretty sure this is the debut and unfortunately, (according to MR.com) the finale as well. Apparently they were starting on new material when they decided to part company.

This is a HUGE release form AOR Heaven. This excellent debut is better than Witness and can only be compared to the ultimate female group LAOS.Every single track is a possible hit on the radio.I hope to see another release from this band on the same level with the debut.Simply BUY 9.5/10

There was only one song on this cd that I liked and I think it was "All This Time" . . . other then that I found it boring and I wouldn't compare this cd to Witness or Laos.

I like this band, they remind me Heart. The singer is good my favorite song is Every now and then.

Very good debut-album, sounds like HEART and NEXX. Nice "light-rock" with female voice how I like it, on th eother hand every song sounds the same.. it's a little boring except the first song so I think I won't buy the following album that shall release soon.

Gotta like this one ! Well produced, crisp sound. Excellent vocals. Some real catchy tunes. If you like melodic rock then this album should be yours. As it is with all things its all a matter of personal taste. But people who talk about this cd as boring i would say: get some coffee and wake up ! Hope to hear more this band in the future. The album has some songs on it with radio hit potential Good stuff all in all!

This is truly a stunning album, full of catchy tunes. Not as light as Heart, not as heavy as Vixen, somewhere in between. Heard they have a new album coming out soon.

Hi there! Thank you all for your comments about this CD. The follow up is mixed and will be mastered the 30/12. For those who didn´t like the first album I´m sure there is a bigger variation on this one. I´m not sure I will take the melodies away though. I appreciate any comment that can take us forward.

What an underrated female classic!!! For those of you not familiar with AA, go out and find this gem and you will soon fall in love with Anette´s voice! In my humble opinion this CD is even better than WITNESS and up there with the mighty LAOS or the SCARLET ROSE debut. What more can I say? Listen to the magic of "All This Time" or " Desperate Heart" and your´re on your way to AOR heaven.....rating 95/100

Sounds to me like Europe fronted by a female or the Femme Fatale album sung with a accent. The "Roxette with more guitars" comparison is appropriate too. The songs do tend to bleed into each other with a "sameness" to them but the musicianship is stellar and her voice is gorgeous. Maybe this is the "ugly American" in me but that accent to me just has no dynamics at all. Just like Doro Pesch to me the vocals on every song are interchangable with any of the others. Obvious talent though.

From: Cornelius |
Date: February 15, 2004 at 17:37 |
Tony is right. That's what I meant (not the accent; it's miles better than the american "accent"). Though, I think I will buy and at any case listen to the follow-up to their debut, maybe it's in my taste really more various as Niclas says. And DON'T ever take away the melodies, that's definitively not what I wanted to say!

Don't be put off by the softly softly approach with the monicker and album cover, this is pristine stuff, with glorious keys, cutting edge guitars, pulsing bass lines and the stellar vocals of Anette Blyckert. So rich, full, and powerful. Only the very best Swedish bands can pull off a stunt like this.

Indeed a very good AOR record from these Swedish act and what's even better : their upcoming new record looks also very promising. Unashamed AOR with lots of keys ! Great that Georg at AOR Heaven gave this band the chance to release a new CD !

This is a great DISC - super vocals - and the songs re listenable. Actually enjoyed it - don't know why - maybe I was expecting it to be not good I guess. Anyways - looking forward to the 'Omega' release. Keyboard AOR at its finest. She has a great voice.

I like this pretty well, and agree with everyone that Anette has a beautiful voice. But no way is it better than the classic WITNESS CD. Still, would recommend AA to anyone looking for quality AOR, especially if you're into female vocals.

Very average AOR release for me. Songs are ok in places, but there isn't really anything on here that hasn't been done a thousand times before and a thousand times better. Production is very weak, as are alot of the performances. Put this up against the big guns - Heart, Witness et all and this one is nowhere.

I am a serious fan of female fronted melodic hard rock/AOR. That said, I love this band. This release is a slice of heaven. The vocals and melodic, sweet and awesome. The music is rockin'. Any fan of 80's Heart or even Roxette will enjoy this one. I'm going to pick up there other release as soon as I find it.

Wow. I really missed out by not having this in my collection since it's release. This is absolutely essential for any fan of female fronted melodic rock. I don't think there's a filler on this disc. One after another, solid melodic rock with big hooks, great choruses, great musicianship... nothing more you could ask for. Highly recommended.

Recomendado. 8.5/10

I am sorry but my rate here must go down. It’s a shame to hear in 2004 a band with heavenly and awesome melodies and a shitty production like this.I can only save singer, keyboards and choruses, the rest is one of the worst works ever heard, ridiculous drums(I think it’s also improvised??),where is the bass player??And it’s incredible the guitar sounds, too few and hidden.Sorry but It’s not possible to make song around refrains and melodies, song’s basements and arrangements are totally absent here…

This album made me a believe in AOR/Melodic again. The songs are simply superb and also emotional. When I listened to the teasers I simply had to buy the album. Had to wait for it for 3 months to arrive but it was well worth the wait. One of the best albums I ever heard! I simply love the keyboard driven lyrics and songs like One Desperate Dream, Without your Love and Free like the Wind are just winners. For me this is the ablum of the year 2000, even surpassing Journey's Arrival.

Good debut album for this scandi band fronted by current Nightwish singer. Very good keyboards, with solid and hooky tracks. The only flaw I find in this CD is the production, which could be better. Although not spectacular, it´s a nice female fronted AOR/Hard Rock CD.
