GREAT AOR/Rock CD!!!! If you like Roxette w/ more guitars then this CD is for you. A winner from front to back!

From: Tenlover Date: January 10, 2002 at 10:36
FANTASTIC!! Wish there were more bands who still make this kind of music. If you like catchy songs and melodic choruses, this one's for U

From: cquicmoi Date: February 3, 2002 at 14:38
I totally agree with Chris. This album will please any Roxette fan. Sounds a little bit like the last albums of Heart too. There are some good songs and the voice is very clear and sweet. The beauty in Hard Rock is to appreciate differences in style and music: Alyson Avenue gives this something different. To my opinion it is a good album in terms of light rock.

From: marc e/k Date: April 16, 2002 at 22:08
one of the best new bands around at the momment, looking forward to the follow up already.dont know about the roxette comparison though!

From: tomcat Date: May 11, 2002 at 11:59

Tomcat, I am pretty sure this is the debut and unfortunately, (according to the finale as well. Apparently they were starting on new material when they decided to part company.

Tipico AOR que solian hacer los grupos con chica al frente durante los 80.Buenos temas pero como siempre el GRAN HANDICAP de los grupos de hoy, PRODUCCION FLOJITA.

From: Roger Landin Date: October 17, 2002 at 11:58
Thank you for these great comments. Roger (drummer in Alyson)

From: Teo_3 Date: April 1, 2003 at 19:25
This is a HUGE release form AOR Heaven. This excellent debut is better than Witness and can only be compared to the ultimate female group LAOS.Every single track is a possible hit on the radio.I hope to see another release from this band on the same level with the debut.Simply BUY 9.5/10

From: purrfect-kat Date: May 21, 2003 at 13:55
There was only one song on this cd that I liked and I think it was "All This Time" . . . other then that I found it boring and I wouldn't compare this cd to Witness or Laos.

From: Federico Date: May 26, 2003 at 18:53
I like this band, they remind me Heart. The singer is good my favorite song is Every now and then.

From: Cornelius Date: July 24, 2003 at 17:31
Very good debut-album, sounds like HEART and NEXX. Nice "light-rock" with female voice how I like it, on th eother hand every song sounds the same.. it's a little boring except the first song so I think I won't buy the following album that shall release soon.

From: erik Date: July 25, 2003 at 2:53
Gotta like this one ! Well produced, crisp sound. Excellent vocals. Some real catchy tunes. If you like melodic rock then this album should be yours. As it is with all things its all a matter of personal taste. But people who talk about this cd as boring i would say: get some coffee and wake up ! Hope to hear more this band in the future. The album has some songs on it with radio hit potential Good stuff all in all!

From: Cornelius Date: September 20, 2003 at 22:31
--Don't like coffee, man

From: Kristian Date: October 7, 2003 at 17:35
This is truly a stunning album, full of catchy tunes. Not as light as Heart, not as heavy as Vixen, somewhere in between. Heard they have a new album coming out soon.

From: Christofer Date: November 17, 2003 at 4:52
A new album will be released in December! We started the recordings this summer and now we're just about to the final adjustments. We are more than satisfied with this new album and hope that you all will also like it:-) Christofer (Guitar, Alyson Avenue)

Hi there! Thank you all for your comments about this CD. The follow up is mixed and will be mastered the 30/12. For those who didn´t like the first album I´m sure there is a bigger variation on this one. I´m not sure I will take the melodies away though. I appreciate any comment that can take us forward.

From: Bill Date: January 4, 2004 at 15:22
What an underrated female classic!!! For those of you not familiar with AA, go out and find this gem and you will soon fall in love with Anette´s voice! In my humble opinion this CD is even better than WITNESS and up there with the mighty LAOS or the SCARLET ROSE debut. What more can I say? Listen to the magic of "All This Time" or " Desperate Heart" and your´re on your way to AOR heaven.....rating 95/100

From: Tony Date: January 9, 2004 at 23:19
Sounds to me like Europe fronted by a female or the Femme Fatale album sung with a accent. The "Roxette with more guitars" comparison is appropriate too. The songs do tend to bleed into each other with a "sameness" to them but the musicianship is stellar and her voice is gorgeous. Maybe this is the "ugly American" in me but that accent to me just has no dynamics at all. Just like Doro Pesch to me the vocals on every song are interchangable with any of the others. Obvious talent though.

From: Cornelius Date: February 15, 2004 at 17:37
Tony is right. That's what I meant (not the accent; it's miles better than the american "accent"). Though, I think I will buy and at any case listen to the follow-up to their debut, maybe it's in my taste really more various as Niclas says. And DON'T ever take away the melodies, that's definitively not what I wanted to say!

From: Tommy Date: February 16, 2004 at 18:42
I´ve heard a couple a songs of their new album(unmastered). And I can asure you that noone will be "unhappy" keep up the good work "guys"

From: Tommy Date: February 18, 2004 at 9:28
And Thomas, it´s time to change your E-string on your bass(hehe) Only kidding,.........the A-string

From: jessica96fish Date: March 2, 2004 at 17:30
not a bab effort from these guys.if you like nexx allison coastline then this lot should hit the spot.

From: Rycheage Date: March 29, 2004 at 0:32
Don't be put off by the softly softly approach with the monicker and album cover, this is pristine stuff, with glorious keys, cutting edge guitars, pulsing bass lines and the stellar vocals of Anette Blyckert. So rich, full, and powerful. Only the very best Swedish bands can pull off a stunt like this.

From: AOR freaky Date: March 29, 2004 at 6:31
Indeed a very good AOR record from these Swedish act and what's even better : their upcoming new record looks also very promising. Unashamed AOR with lots of keys ! Great that Georg at AOR Heaven gave this band the chance to release a new CD !

From: GlenRavine Date: March 29, 2004 at 15:25
This is a great DISC - super vocals - and the songs re listenable. Actually enjoyed it - don't know why - maybe I was expecting it to be not good I guess. Anyways - looking forward to the 'Omega' release. Keyboard AOR at its finest. She has a great voice.

From: hashman Date: July 14, 2004 at 13:39
hi, i have the omega lp, but i cant find this anywhere, does anyone have a copy to sell or cdr? thanks my email

From: Jonny_B Date: August 25, 2004 at 15:17
I've never played any cd to death as I have with Alyson Avenue's debut. Awesome vocals, catchy hooks, and memorable everything! Though out-of-print, it's a must-find.

From: larry Date: September 3, 2004 at 22:22
this is a great lp. i do hope they keep going & put out tonnes more music like this, i miss this type of music! the second album is great as well!!!!

From: MelodicBoy Date: November 12, 2004 at 12:28
I like this pretty well, and agree with everyone that Anette has a beautiful voice. But no way is it better than the classic WITNESS CD. Still, would recommend AA to anyone looking for quality AOR, especially if you're into female vocals.

Very average AOR release for me. Songs are ok in places, but there isn't really anything on here that hasn't been done a thousand times before and a thousand times better. Production is very weak, as are alot of the performances. Put this up against the big guns - Heart, Witness et all and this one is nowhere.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: August 27, 2005 at 23:49

From: SangreAzulForever Date: September 10, 2005 at 8:37
Como dice el compañero Rafo Phoenix, mencionando a Witness, la verdad es que me recuerda mucho este disco al de Witness, el tratamiento vocal es similar, al igual que teclados y guitarras. Está bastante bien hecho, música para tus oídos... 8/10

From: headbanger4life Date: December 23, 2005 at 1:52
I am a serious fan of female fronted melodic hard rock/AOR. That said, I love this band. This release is a slice of heaven. The vocals and melodic, sweet and awesome. The music is rockin'. Any fan of 80's Heart or even Roxette will enjoy this one. I'm going to pick up there other release as soon as I find it.

From: Lovedrive Date: January 30, 2006 at 7:31
Buen disco, aunque tampoco es la reostia. La chica canta muy bien, y esta en particular me ha gustado mucho--> "Tell me you love me (or leave me)"

From: Geoff Date: March 8, 2006 at 21:26
Wow. I really missed out by not having this in my collection since it's release. This is absolutely essential for any fan of female fronted melodic rock. I don't think there's a filler on this disc. One after another, solid melodic rock with big hooks, great choruses, great musicianship... nothing more you could ask for. Highly recommended.

Recomendado. 8.5/10

From: z4roxx Date: October 31, 2006 at 12:30
I am sorry but my rate here must go down. It’s a shame to hear in 2004 a band with heavenly and awesome melodies and a shitty production like this.I can only save singer, keyboards and choruses, the rest is one of the worst works ever heard, ridiculous drums(I think it’s also improvised??),where is the bass player??And it’s incredible the guitar sounds, too few and hidden.Sorry but It’s not possible to make song around refrains and melodies, song’s basements and arrangements are totally absent here…

From: Heavy.AOR Date: November 5, 2006 at 13:51
BRILLIANT 10/10.Please please halp me he killed me like a Roxette ,, sorry, moment all AOR female bands like a Roxette ,.Oh uh ok now ok.Funny.

From: Knighthawk Date: February 5, 2007 at 17:57
This album made me a believe in AOR/Melodic again. The songs are simply superb and also emotional. When I listened to the teasers I simply had to buy the album. Had to wait for it for 3 months to arrive but it was well worth the wait. One of the best albums I ever heard! I simply love the keyboard driven lyrics and songs like One Desperate Dream, Without your Love and Free like the Wind are just winners. For me this is the ablum of the year 2000, even surpassing Journey's Arrival.

From: StormSpell Date: May 28, 2007 at 6:41
Congrats to Anette Blyckert-Olzon for becoming the new NIGHTWISH front lady! All the best and good luck!

A good singer for an aor band like this one ruined for a shitty band as Nightwish, the worst kind of music are band such as Nightwish or Sfter Forever or like these all poor melodick gothic/lyric metal scandi bands...The baby dosn't have a great voice but here she sounds ok...

From: newscandi Date: April 26, 2008 at 15:40
Nice energetic album whith a huge keyboard carpet all around. Not that outstanding songs as the FF AOR highlights as WITNESS, HEART or so on. But it's still a nice addition, in my opinion a nice album to play as backround while relaxing. 87/100

From: kai-2 Date: September 10, 2008 at 20:32
Good debut album for this scandi band fronted by current Nightwish singer. Very good keyboards, with solid and hooky tracks. The only flaw I find in this CD is the production, which could be better. Although not spectacular, it´s a nice female fronted AOR/Hard Rock CD.

From: juan carlos Date: September 11, 2008 at 0:52
Totally agree with kai-2. Good album and nice MR/AOR nothing more nothing less. Obviously this is not a classic for me, Production is just ok and could be beefed up(Better elaborated), instead listen to Coastline. Cheers. 8.5/10

great singer for a typical but high level scandi aor

From: rick kerch vzla Date: November 1, 2009 at 20:45
I was really pleased when i listened to this album, great AOR indeed for the likes of Heart (softer side of Heart).Good and catchy songs such as "One Desperate Heart","Tell Me You Love Me","Lost And Lonely" (nice)and so on...if you are into melodic territory then this album would be appealing to your senses..shamely(only coz AV lost her)Annette is not with them anymore as a singer (actually singing with Nightwish)...this is better than their Omega even though both are actually of the same quality.90/100
