| Tommy London is a DJ on SiriusXM satellite radio in America. He talks in kind of a wimpy voice, and appears to be reading everything he says on-air, though he tries to sound natural. And when he's on "Ozzy's Boneyard," he tries too hard to act like Ozzy is really his boss, rather than just lending (selling) the use of his name to the channel. No idea what his music is like, haven't heard it yet.

| Speak of the devil, I've been traveling for work the last 3 months, and my rental Wagoneer(shameless plug) has free SiriusXM. So I preset every 80's rock station I could find. Doghouse is right as London's speaking voice is a little effeminate. He's big on name dropping, while squeezing in 80's trivia. I heard old KNAC jock Dangerous Darren from back in the day on H.N. The problem with Hair Nation, and all the other off shoots is the lazy programing of not updating/expanding the track rotation playlist which is unacceptable for a pay station. I don't need to hear a Poison song every hour. They play the same 100-200 songs over and over again. Even station "Deep Cuts" is just as bad as most of the 80's off shoots with no jocks. Living in So Cal in the late 80's there was radio KNAC out of Long Beach, Pirate Radio out of LA, and the syndicated Z-Rock. All leaps and bounds better than what Sirius has to offer. KNAC's playlist could go from Stryper to Slayer the next song. A different era.

| Stallion: back when Sirius and XM were two rival companies, Sirius made a big deal of having "personalities," but XM prished itself on having much broader playlists. It seems the Sirius approach won out when they merged. I was reading an article the other day about a company that wants to use artificial intelligence to create air talent for radio stations (although of course they insist they aren't trying to replace humans). It made me sad at first—I've been fascinated by radio since childhood, so this means that the dream is well and truly deadddB then I got thinking: most of the jocks on the air today already sound like AI anyway, so who cares? And our boy Tommy London is one of them.

| Doghouse, Speaking of AI personalities, I had a flashback to the Tony London of his day, Riki Rachtman. I met him in Phoenix at a concert club in the mid 90's. As I recall he didn't have too much to say except to reiterate he was partying. I'm sure you know the coat tails of fame story when he applied for the MTV Headbangers Ball VJ slot with Axel Rose in tow to seal the deal. I remember him constantly saying he was a PUNK guy (not metal), as he was in a handful of punk rock leaning bands. I also remember in the late 90's he was on all talk FM KLSX in LA.'Riki Rachtman Radio which was a painful 3 hour daily experiment that lasted for 6 months or so. Other jocks on the station "The Regular Guys' and Tim Conway's son were always making light of the RRR man, and it came to a head. I pulled up the wiki page as The show came to an abrupt end when he assaulted a fellow KLSX show host after he insulted Rachtman's girlfriend, adult-film actress Janine Lindemulder. | (part 2) name dropper as there is a video floating around from the mid 90's of him telling Chris Cornell that he used to live in New Zealand. The constant chameleon was born and raised in San Fernando Valley,CA as that's where he found all his porn GF's on set in Chatsworth. In 1991 Riki Rachtman was picked by BAM Magazine as one of the 50 most influential people in music. HUH? Radio was/is a feast or famine buiz. In my infamous past in the late 80's early 90's I was O.A. at smaller market stations, while having a mobile DJ buiz, and for the trifecta, I was a DJ at Pure Platinum strip clubs. Which use to have CA, HI, FL. locations. In that era I would have to bring my bunker of my own Cass/CD's as most of the dancers were into hard rock/metal. Multimillion dollar club with a high end sound system, laser lights,fog,ect and I hated wearing a suit. Unfortunately my 10% take of the strippers tips, financially won out over bouncing between stations. What if? Today I rarely listen to radio.
