I don't know what it is about living near the Arctic Circle? But, I've been woefully disappointed by Christian rock bands from Scandinavia. They don't know how to rock with a capital "R"; they never deliver the goods! Charizma is no different: The guitars are O.K. and the singing's acceptable. Still, there's no oomph. The liners wonder why the band never made it big? No surprise: LISTEN TO YOUR OWN MUSIC! |

What a horrid disc this is. If you like 220 Volt or Europe before they turned melodic, you might want to give this a go. I will openly admit I am not a fan of christian music - in fact I strongly dislike it, unless it's done very well (Eg. The Brave, Holy Soldier) but this has it all. Awful music / songs and awful christian lyrics. Best avoided, IMO. |

IMO you guys are little too harsh on this band...yes we have here some horrible fillers but tracks like Turn Me On or Guardian Angels are top scandi hits in line with Dalton, Da Vinci, Harlot or early Return...weak sound thou and i don't know where they record drums ( maybe in a trash can ) |

Charizma was started in the beginning of the 80's by the three brothers BO, Göran and Janne Nikolausson. They grew fast in popularity and soon they were one of the most popular christian hardrock bands in Sweden. They are very similiar to bands such as JERUSALEM and LEVITICUS. This first album, which was originally released in 1985, has a more metal feel to it than their later material. |
