The Tobruk album was also released on an Italian bootleg in 1993, a 2 on 1 CD edition with the second album being an HM band called Black Knight 'Master Of Disaster'. The quality is very good. The original vinyl release came out on Parlophone Records in 1985. The album was produced by Lance Quinn.

From: George Thatcher Date: May 8, 2001 at 10:38
Oh, I forgot to add, The Italian bootleg also features 2 unreleased tracks, a raw and not so well produced version of the title track 'Wild On The Run' plus 'The Show Must Go On'.

Anyone know where I can get a copy of this on CD? I've been after a copy for a while now. Anyone that can help, many thanks! email- s.fairclough@ntlworld.com

Thanks to a radio show here in France, I fell in love with this album. There's something more than special about the melodies. An english AOR charm. All the songs (I mean ALL) are magic. It's not a masterpiece, not a musical perfection, but it's moving like great music must be. Got it in vinyl. Can make md copies.

I have happy memories of Tobruk playing a couple of shows in my town when I was a teenager. They were an excellent band and I could never understand why they didn't become bigger. I think that they were a few years too early to jump on the Bon Jovi badwagon! I have the vinyl album, but I'd love to get hold of this CD if anyone knows where its available.

Hey Brian and David: I'm sure they've got this at some of the online music places. Try Hot Tracks, NEH Records, AOR Heaven-they probably all have it. I found a copy on Ebay, as well.

From: joseph italy Date: December 11, 2001 at 13:58

From: andrea Date: February 22, 2002 at 12:43
Tobruk was a great band!Their management and label (Emi uk) was not intelligent: They prefered others poor bands...The Tobruk's shows and the music was great events! Pure energy, class, and strong/brilliant music. The fortune, good management and label support are basic elements for survive...However, only the best remains in the time!

Good stuff. I remember buying this. There were nothing else which appealed to me in the store, so I picked this one up. I listened to it for weeks, and still do.

From: The Mad Dog Date: September 6, 2003 at 9:36
The first time I saw this record was at a Goodwill a few years ago. I'd never heard of it, but about a month later I was at a record store, saw the same record, figured it was a sign, and picked it up. Incredible music, I like that there are two lead guitars and synth. Does anyone have any idea what "Going Down for the Third Time" is about? If you do, please email me: themaddog@maddogcentral.com Thanks, -MD

Has anyone heard the song "20/20 Vision" by Tobruk? I somehow obtained a demo-type copy of the track and it is undoubtably Snake on lead vocals, but I've not been able to obtain further information anywhere???

THIS IS THE BEST CD I EVER HEARD, the name Tobruk gotten in my ears from time to time, but the name of the band is the reason why i didn't get them, until i found out that mighty Fallen is a song from tobruk, man i can't believe it, if you like highly melodic hard'n'heavy GET IT! From: Chad Date: August 22, 2004 at 3:03
Easily in my top 10 albums of all time. Still listen to this weekly. I bought this originally on cassette and wore the mother out! Got it on disk and jam all the time. Rebound and Going down for the 3rd time are classics. There is not a bad song on the album. Pick this one up! Snake's vocals are awesome and the keys are very good, not overpowering.....

From: Geoff Date: August 29, 2004 at 23:54
Lots of keyboards, very simple songs but overall it is a very good AOR disc. Maybe not VERY good, but a good CD. I like it. Nothing wrong with this one at all...

From: Agnar Date: November 2, 2004 at 5:35
good title! I have it in 2 formats, LP and bootleg CD. Bootleg was issued in 1993 through enigmatic label Reborn Classics (under the fake name of Nosferatu Records), but it absolutely was not from Italy! Reborn Classics was probably from the U.S. or from Luxemburg. That CD also featured obscure debut from Black Knight, "Master of Disaster", a very high-rated item in U.S. Metal.

Great album. Highly Recommend!

From: Mindcrime Date: August 18, 2005 at 19:41
WOW! Listening to this brings back memories of seeing them live at a club called STAIRWAYS in Birkenhead, UK. Snake was an excellent frontman and they really put on a great show. Good classic English rock! Man, I feel old.

From: Nick C Date: August 27, 2005 at 19:50
Have to comment on this as I mentioned it in another review! I bought it when it came out (vinyl only at the time) and was so let down. The band used to rock so hard ..demo's, Wild on the Run single on Neat records.. but this came out and it seemed way too polished and lacked the fire that the band had at the time. On the plus side it has aged very well and sounds better than a lot of stuff released around the same time (were we spoilt in those days) ... I'll give it a 7.5/10 now!

From: pompeius Date: November 24, 2005 at 1:02
Great stuff, imagine maybe Saxon featuring Mark Mangold on keyboards. High energy melodic pomp rock.

True genious!!!!!.

From: lalorock Date: May 29, 2007 at 14:16
Excelente disco con un estilo donde predominan unos coros matadores, guitarras afiladas y melodicas hacen las delicias para todo amante de Hard rock AOR,los temas tienen esa fuerza que los hace incomparables, los cortes que destacan son casi todos pero Wild on the run,Falling,Poor Girl,She´s nobody´s angel,Breakdown(el comienzo bien parecido al In for the count de Balance),Going down...son llenos de riffs poderosos y melódicos hacen de este disco un "obligado" para cualquier discografia de AOR.

From: aceisback Date: September 17, 2007 at 5:51
A 80´s classic!

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: December 11, 2007 at 18:54

From: rick kerch vzla Date: December 17, 2007 at 20:14
Snake R.I.P....

From: darobinson Date: July 12, 2008 at 13:14
If you can get past the singer's voice what you have here is a killer set of tunes with great backup vox and great musicianship. His voice gets better with each listen but the music is great!!!

From: hair metal again Date: February 10, 2017 at 3:51
very good debut for TOBRUK back in 84 with catchy songs always in the commercial hard rock sound!big keys and guitars, rough vocals and some great choruses are offered capturing the spirit of that era in the UK when NWOBHM bands tried to be more commercial!"falling",'wild on the run' and "poor girl' are great songs indeed!
