Steve Augeri's vocals are in top shape here. some brave new ground from Journey and I can't wait for a new full length album

From: koogles Date: March 20, 2003 at 3:11
The unthinkable has happened. Journey has released crap. Production so muddy the inside of my CD player was brown after playing the first track. The songs are weaklings too. The biggest disappointment since Van Halen's horrible '3'.

From: giorgos-greece Date: March 24, 2003 at 20:47
i'm somewhere between the two opinions above.Different, sophicistated lyrics for a band like this one ,average/good songwriting but what a horrible production(for Journey's level).Sounds more like a well done demo. Some new ideas here and there ,and that's all.I surely expect more from Neal and his guys.Arrival was so cool!

From: Rycheage Date: April 2, 2003 at 3:36
The performance is as we expect from a band of Journey's talent and experience - tight. The production and songwriting lose a few points, but the sequence is good and the running time (especially for an EP) is excellent.

GIA' UN MUST!

From: Hrudet Date: July 30, 2003 at 13:44
Without a doubt, RED 13 is Journey's desperate attempt at trying to start in a new musical direction. It's something the band needs to do, as a result of Perry's absence. But, in my opinion, RED 13 fails to capture the 'magic' that is required, if Journey is to move on to greatness with Augeri.

From: Chris Date: October 30, 2003 at 23:36
I don't think the band needs to move in a different direction at all as a result of Perry's absence. They obviously want to try something new, and i hate to say this (as they are my fave band), but this is pretty crap. This aint Journey. Its too heavy for a start off, and the songs go nowhere. There are no catchy melodies or hooks. Nothing. Augeri is a fine singer, as he showed on Arrival, and that was a damned good effort by the band. This most certainly isn't.

From: Adss Date: November 24, 2003 at 14:08
Ok Perry went a very important for band, but broke the band too 'Raise on Radio' broke trajetory... two greats albuns 'escape' and 'fronties' and after 'Raise on Radio' oh! please... so Augeri is excelent voice (similar Perry´s Voice) so, VIVA! Augeri and please JOURNEY a new full legth album and year after year new album, new songs, new tours... please tour in BRAZIL for God!!!

From: Skip Date: December 4, 2003 at 6:22
When I received my copy of Red13 I couldn't do anything else than salute the best musicians in the genre. This is without no doubt a worthy follow up by Journey. Great production, great songs and Journey sounds the way they should do. I will not go where other people do, comparing it with earlier Journey albums. Everything changes through time... ...even Journey. Keep it up lads!

From: PODEROSO YIRO Date: March 11, 2004 at 0:44
VOY A DEFENDER ESTE DISCO. ESTE MINI EP, ME PARECE QUE LAS 4 CANCIONES SON EXCELENTES Y CON UN CORTE MUY EXPERIMENTAL, SE SUELTAN LA MANO CON ESA SENSACIONAL 'WALKING AWAY FROM THE EDGE' Y EL RITMO MACHACON DE 'TIME' ASI COMO EL MEDIO TIEMPO 'I CAN BREATHE' Y EL DESPARPAJO QUE TIENEN AL EXPERIMENTAR EN 'STATE OF GRACE'... NO PUEDO ESPERAR AL SIGUIENTE DISCO

From: Nick H Date: August 21, 2004 at 22:49
I think Steve Augeri is a wanna be Steve Perry. Nobody can compare with Steve Perry when it comes to singing.

From: Nick Clarkson Date: October 20, 2004 at 13:16
Not bad at all and definately worth more than the rating given (currently 3.67). I reckon this is a bit of a stop gap E.P. to keep the band in the public domain. The production is a little lifeless but the songs are pretty darn good if a little samey. Must be worth a 6.8 average. Steve Augeri is a top vocalist and his old band Tall Stories are well worth checking out. Get a new album out guys!

From: Rockhead Date: October 21, 2004 at 2:41
I love this EP. THe sound is rawer but that is not necessarily a bad thing and I don't agree with the songs being crap-State of Grace is excellent and The Time is very quirky with the weird phrasing but again a strong vocal performance. This should be given time to digest as it is a definate grower and guitar orientated. Great to hear Neal's guitar dominating preceedings for a change. EXCELLENT

From: Chris Date: November 6, 2004 at 6:00
I still can't get into this at all, in fact i have finally given up on it and although Journey are my all time fave band, i hate to say it but i have put Red 13 in a big black bag and put it outside waiting for that big garbage truck to finally destroy the thing. A hateful, hateful release. Oh dear what have you done Schon.

From: Propane Date: December 2, 2004 at 20:57
Pure junk. I'm disappointed beyond belief. I loved these guys but so goes chasing the almighty dollar.

From: SteveFlatt Date: January 6, 2005 at 21:54
Steve Augeri is and great replacement for lead singer. He does a great job of keep Journey ALIVE,But he's no Steve Perry SO get over it and move on.

From: AORmaniac Date: January 26, 2005 at 22:00
So sad that I'm seeing Journey releasing what we all fear... a crap album! Perry was not only the singer but also a great songwriter... can't you see that Journey's songs are missing his magical touch? No other Perry-clones but the original one!! Bring back Perry before you release another crap like this one. You do not need to follow the same path with Iron Maiden and Judas Priest that after two failed ablums brought back the original singers... I just wish to see Journey again with Perry!

From: Geoff Date: January 27, 2005 at 2:43
It's odd to see such harsh comments about a band / album you never really cared for, or ever felt the need to care for. I know there are thousands of CDs I like who are viewed this same way by others, but to me Journey is one of those bands. Never really liked them, don't care what they release, but I must admit I heard this one and I quite like the last track, 'I can't breathe'. Very nice tune and otherwise decent. From what I've heard, I actually prefer recent Journey to old, personally

From: Rockhead Date: January 27, 2005 at 4:32
4 songs does not an album make!! This was an experimental EP that rocked!! Arrival is the full album and follows the classic Journey legacy perfectly. Journey will still knock spots of 99% of the other acts in the genre and Escape was released over 20 years ago. A great band with or without Perry

From: z4roxx Date: January 27, 2005 at 14:07
Geoff,we have so many times same likings I see.Always found Journey a normal aor band, nothin'else.I know they maybe are the precursor of aor style of music ect...but really never impressed from their works, and maybe my Journey fave cd's are the last 2 ones, but"arrival"are some good songs(the opening I think one of their best ever)but also the rest is not good(IMO IMO IMO),I want to say!!!

From: rocky Date: February 6, 2005 at 10:50
sorry Journey.....THIS IS CRAP !!!!!!! Get back to your Steve Perry days, those were the good times.

From: MIGUEL MAZZETTI Date: April 28, 2005 at 13:46
JOURNEY UNA DE LAS MEJORES BANDAS DEL ROCK,CLASICAS TEMAS COMO FAITHFULLY,OPEN ARMS,WHEELS IN THE SKY,ETC...VAYA QUE GRUPO , Y LA VOZ DE STEVE PERRY UNA DE LAS MEJORES DENTRO DEL ROCK AND ROLL. mazzetti2001@yahoo.com flamingpie97@hotmail.com

From: TomStavely Date: October 6, 2005 at 4:34
NO! this thing is quite amazingly CRAP the worst thing to ever have the Journey name on it. Please delete this heap of shit from your catalog Journey it spoils the legacy, Arrival was great and Generations ok but this is the worst album i have. Please no matter how big a Journey fan you are avoid this at all costs, 2/10

From: Axe-Machine Date: January 18, 2006 at 8:41
I quite liked it. Nobody else does...end of story!

From: mauricio Date: January 26, 2006 at 14:37

From: ROBERT Date: December 16, 2006 at 10:26
JOURNEY LIVE!!! SABADO 24 MARZO, SALA RIVIERA DE MADRID, por 1ª Vez en Directo en Spain!!!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 29, 2007 at 11:27

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 13, 2011 at 9:04
Relaxed Ep with Steve Augeri on board...i'm still standing with my commnet in spanish of 2007..."State Of Grace","Walking Away From The Edge" & "I Can Breathe"(this one is the best IMHO) are fine songs but somehow are weak if you compare these with the ones that are on the "Arrival" release...anyway Augeri was a right move for the band at that stage...a new rate...80/100

From: Macca Date: June 16, 2022 at 18:59
benefit of time... My first impression way back then holds up... absolute garbage..... the band have never revisited this train wreck
