No es mal disco muy en la onda de Fortune, aunque el cantante era malo antes y ahora.

From: AAAOOORRR!!! Date: August 11, 2002 at 0:37
fortune es un clasico del aor de los 80īs!!!! 100/100

From: freddy de keyze Date: September 20, 2002 at 2:47
The best new AOR band there is (togegther with Mecca), but they released already four CD's and they're all MEGA ! A superband, you must discover at any cost. They are also the ones who release the absolute CLASSIC Fortune CD in the eighties, a milestone in AOR. A MUST BAND and checq out their CD's. You won't disappointed in their 'heavy AOR', but melodic witqh great songs !

From: MelodicBoy Date: October 4, 2002 at 23:21
Have everything by these guys, but this one's probably my least favorite. "Forbidden Colors" is unbelievable and must be heard to be believed. I have the Mecca CD and it's okay, but not in the same league as "Forbidden Colors" IMO.

Have been re listening to the Harlan Cage stuff a lot over the last few weeks and very very good it all is. There is one BUT though and that is that some of the songs (as with the 101 South cd's) sound VERY VERY similar in places, not a major critisism, but slightly off putting at times. The best new AOR band tag I wouldnt necesarily agree with, as there are better bands around. Still all the cd's are top quality releases and come recommended.

From: freddy de keyze Date: June 11, 2003 at 17:42
Jez, you have a point there, some tracks are indeed very similar in places. But tell me the bands that not sound the same after several releases ! Or they completely change their style, and play no longer melodic stuff. I still prefer a band like Harlan Cage doing the same, because it's always very good, at least ! And that there are at this moment a lot better AOR bands ? Which one, dear Jez ! The seventies and eighties are over, then there were hundreds of great AOR bands and artists, but now?

Freddy I see what you mean about sticking to a band because it's good, but variation is the name of the game for me. Better releases imho at the moment are :- Urban Tale, Nexx, Street Talk, Radioactive, Jim Jidhead, Coastland Ride, Autograph, Saga,Styx (which we have already discussed - Still a mighty cd), Gotthard. I have noted also that most of these are coming from Europe, Scandanavia especially. Don't get me wrong , i love the Harlan Cage stuff, but they do sound too samey for me sometimes

From: freddy de keyze Date: June 12, 2003 at 19:31
Dear Jez, thanks for your answer. But I can't agree on the bands you name, especially Urban Tale, Autograph and Street Talk (no variation at all ont their last) are very bad to me. The rest, except Styx, is decent, but nothing more. And the stuff coming from Scandinavia and Europe is nothing more than recycling what the americans and canadians did in the seventies and eighties, and it's even not a good copy !! Current bands that I love a bit are Norway, First Shot and best newcomer is Mecca !!!

Featuring that awesome man of Soundtracks Larry Greene (Top Gun and Over The Top) with Roger Scott Craig, and guests Aussie Brett Garsed, Billy Liesegang and Steve Porcaro. Didn't like this album first up, but don't toss it there, it grows on you nicely. Features AOR to hard rock in the USA stadium vein. Great songs, if not immediately idetinfiable.

I'm listening to this right now to get a good idea of what I want to say about these guyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Maybe okay if you just want some background noise, but wow does this style bore me.

From: AOR freaky Date: November 24, 2003 at 7:28
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. All releases by this act are SUPERB ! And don't listen to a person called John ! I think he loves writing down brilliant acts ! This is so damned good ! Together with 1O1 South a fantastic new act ! BUY !!!!

From: Janxy Date: November 24, 2003 at 14:04
I've listened to this album quite a few times and I still don't remember it. I think that about sums it up.

From: AOR freaky Date: January 6, 2004 at 10:44
Janxy : I think you didn't listen good enough ! That sums it up !

From: AORster Date: April 2, 2004 at 16:29
This could be used as a schoolbook example on how to make a "First Class, A grade" AOR album. It's all there; The excellent songs, arrangements, musicmanship and production. This is pure AOR and for what it is it's top notch!

From: Cowboyy2087 Date: July 5, 2004 at 17:08
I love Harlan Cage there music Rocks

From: jos1 Date: July 24, 2004 at 3:51
Roger seems to be the greatest aor producer who strikes heavy each time he produces a record. Harlan Cage - Fortune - 101 South makes me crazy on my kneels. Long live to him.

this album gives you the feeling that what will follow will be great, and yes it truly is great.. very good album, not my favorite of this band, but their latest is always their greatest.. so much talent.. 'silver wings' is soo good..

From: Geoff Date: February 11, 2005 at 22:55
I fully agree with Jez above. This is a good band, though extremely soft and lite, but a lot of their songs sound extremely alike. The guys write some cool and original lyrics and there are some nice melodies... but although I do like this band I think this one is just a little too lite. There were only two songs I liked off this, and I forget them now. Interesting band but I'm not the biggest fan. Average AOR release IMO.

From: AOR freaky Date: February 12, 2005 at 3:07
Ha ha, average, Geoff ! ? You must be joking ! This is GREAT AOR ! By the way, these guys have more talent in one finger than your mr. Vain in his whole body, mate !

From: oliver Date: February 12, 2005 at 9:53
yes, hc often sounds extremly alike. but nevertheless all the songs are brilliant aor, so who cares?. every single song a perfect one. 9/10

From: Geoff Date: February 12, 2005 at 19:19
Yes AOR Freaky... I agree and of course you're right. It doesn't matter that I think Davy Vain has more talent in a single scrotum hair than these guys have in their entire band because you're right as always and one cannot compete in your honourable and mature discussions about personal preference. And who can forget your thoughts on one band being better than another regardless of personal opinion. Again, you win with your brilliance.

From: Swriter Date: March 9, 2005 at 15:36
a good debut, not the strongest HCage album but u must have all of them , standouts on this one are Devil, 98, Three Nights, One Naked Kiss, and Let it Rain. These r essential HCage songs!!!!! Each album is great!!

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 29, 2005 at 21:59
Another Great AOR release, Para mi Larry Greene es todo un exponente del AOR asi como lo demostro en Fortune que es otro tremendo album este sigue esa secuela 2 albums altamente recomendados, asi que consigan este gran album Silver Wings(mi favorita, por ser la mas extragalactica), One Naked Kiss, Three Nights Running, Wires and Chains, Destiny, Too Much algunos cortes quiza no den talla pero las mencionadas son grandes cortes que alzan el album.

From: Swazi Date: August 4, 2005 at 9:32
I don't know which of the Harlan Cage CD's I like best - probably the Forbidden Colours - but this one is pretty good as well. I really like it and have given it 9/10.

From: chupeaux Date: October 7, 2012 at 11:34
Sweet Salvation - killer-tune!!! In my opinion, average AOR with great Roger's chords arrangements, as always.

the three fortune s records(same,II,level ground) are three real masterpieces.i m an absolute fan of fortune.so in 2022 (better late than never) i ve thinking that it s time to discover the harlan cage s realises.what deception!!!!!fortune is magic, harlan cage is a decent aor band among one thousand others.on harlan cage ,no riffs and the guitar s solos are rare, short and not extraordinary.we have three super songs tracks 3.8 and 9.the new version of 98 in the shade (the best fortune s song) is very great and different of the original.for the rest hum.tracks 6.7 and 10 are three poor variety songs.tracks 13 and 14 (to many heroes) the japan bonus tracks are two very average a o r songs.the others songs are not bad, musically i reconize the fortune s trademark but the choruses are very weak.with the abscence of guitars this is the big problem of this record.no catchy choruses.nothing to sing under my shower.
