How many computers did it take to create this album?? It sounds like a computer created album, not a band playing!!! God, this is HORRIFYING!!! Just Push Play has my vote for the worst song of the new millenium!!! I want my 1970's Aerosmith back, not some cheesy, ballad ridden rock just made for ladies to love!!!!!!!! AAARGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

What happened to Aerosmith? They used to be my favorite band - in the '70's. This new stuff is horrible !!!!!! Aerosmith is a pop band now with rap/hiphop influences. This album belongs in the trash, at the bottom of the trash. I don't want to hear any more Aerosmith if it sounds like this. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give new Aerosmith a -1000. What happened to the band that played great hard rock and didn't care about being on tv? What happened to the classic hard rock like "Rocks"?

R.I.P. Aerosmith. Welcome Rolling Stones commercial coast land. What on earth are they playing at!! Are they worried about there pensions/ financial investments? I'd like to ask this question directly to messrs Tyler and Perry as I'm sure would many other Aero fans. I'm pretty sure, though, they're too busy with MTV specials, video shoots and appearances with Britney Spears. Horrific!!!

Are you people crazy! This is one of their best. Every band has to change a little to grow as artists.

They may not be a hard rock band anymore but this album is still one of their best. If you only like one genre of music then this isnt for you. If you have an open mind and like good music no matter the style then you need to buy this cd. A definite 9 out of 10.

When I first listened to this album I thought it was pretty good. Then I bought some of their older cds (TOYS IN THE ATTIC, GET YOUR WINGS, PUMP) and I started liking this album less and less. Outside of Steven Tylers voice this doesnt even sound like the same band. Maybe their next cd will be more rock n roll and less pop.(6.5 out of 10).

Aerosmith to me is one of the best greatest hits bands of all time, meaning that they are basically a "radio hits" band. They thrive off their singles and that is it. The remainder of the album is just pure filler. While I give the band credit for continuing to release very good singles ("Jaded") and an occasional good album track ("Beyond Beautiful"), I must take away credit from them by also saying that they are one of THE most over-rated rock & roll bands of all time. Still, not a bad cd.

Everybody is entitled to their input so here is mine. Aerosmith is not A RADIO HITS BAND AND OVER RATED,if you look at the whole picture. S/T,GET YOUR WINGS,TOYS IN THE ATTIC,ROCKS,DRAW THE LINE etc etc are awesome cds. There is no doubting they are one of the greatest. However they refuse to quit and have turned into a radio hits band.Thats like saying Michael is an over rated basketball player. He once was unstoppable, now he is just another top player. So,is he just good and not great?

Permanent Vacation was a perfect ten, then they get worst cd after cd (Pump was good too). I appreciate the fact they never try to sound more alternative, like too many bands have done. So I give this 6,5. Dokken6008 is right, too many fillers, on this, with some good tracks.

Worst album EVER by a hard rock band in the last 20 years and these guys should be embarrased!! If you're going to so blatantly pander to the TRL MTV crowd at least churn out mediocre drivel. Outside songwriters in the future shouldn't be allowed within 100 yards of Tyler/Perry without being shot. Just a horrible record in every possible way.

You are all very very very severe with the band. Ok this album is not their most brillant one (that's sure) but don't forget what this band offer us for 30 years!!! And don't forget that they have always been "up & down" in tehir history. Sure the future album will be a killer one. Love you the Smith. 6/10

Most of you guys are right. Why the fuck should WE go easy on Aerosmith? They're freakin' millionaires licking Carson Daily's shit clean in effort to gain sales from the "younger crowd" (actually that would include me as well, but sorry I don't fall for that Slipknott/Korn/Drowning Pool bullshit). And guess what? It worked!! And it seems to work everytime. You really can't blame people when they get pissed and tell you that Aerosmith are a load of sell-outs. What is untrue about that?

Hey Aerosmith! Get back to the rock n roll roots. we want our kick ass rock music back. No more catering to the younger generation of tiny-bobbers. They own all the new material, not the old, try doing stuff from the glory days and help get rock n roll back on top were it should belong.
|
From: dokken6008 |
Date: July 12, 2002 at 7:30 |
C.C.L.--I know EXACTLY what you are saying about the Autograph resemblance. In fact, I noticed that as soon as I saw the cover to 'That's The Stuff' and I was like...."Wait a second, here...". I don't know who owns what rights to that sexy chich robot on the covers, though.
|
From: dokken6008 |
Date: July 12, 2002 at 7:31 |
R.R.--By now, I think that we all should realise that Aerosmith will continue with their MTV crusade. They continue to have their singles played on the radio and their videos played on tv, and I think that the band is getting exactly what they want--MONEY. I have thought a bit more about my "sell-out" statement and now I am having second thoughts. Maybe Aerosmith are not sell-outs; maybe they are just doing what they want musically and commercially.

Some people said Aerosmith's now for ladies... Ladies don't like Hard Rock! They like what's playing on the radio and on MTV... And who the fuck would want back 70's Aerosmith? Their carrer started with Permanent Vacation... This album's not a good album, but it has 2 of the best Aerosmith's songs (Jaded and Fly Away From Here)!

Their career started with Permanent Vacation????? It has just about ended with that album, most everything since P-Vacation has been way to radio friendly and has lost it's edge. Aerosmith's career started with Permanent Vacation???? This album just shows the down hill degression they are on. I did read on Melodicrock.com that they do want to try to go back to their blues root for the next album. I know the guys need to make money for retirement but their career startes with P-Vacation?????

What the world needs is more of Steve Tyler cavorting about the stage with Britney and N Stync at The Super Bowl's half-time show, so we can see what a tired, old has-been he's become in his desperate quest to appear hip to the youth of today... The closest he'll ever get to hip again is hip replacement surgery when he falls off the stage whilst trying to keep up with kids younger than his probable grandchildren scattered throughout the world... Retire, Steve -- you look and act pathetic...

Next stop, Vegas lounge act...I stopped liking them when people older than my mother started liking them. I'm not a big Stones fan, but somehow they seem to be pulling off the "aging rocker" thing with a little more grace and a little less obvious commercialism. And yeah, what the hell is that comment about their career starting with Permanent Vacation? That's when they started going' down the toilet, I don't really give a fuck what the "ladies" like unless it's my lady.

This sucks. I honestly don't like a single song on here. No blues, no cool riffs, distorted vocals, hideous pop melodies - no resemblence to Aerosmith whatsoever. One song especially, in the middle somewhere, they try to recreate the feeling of the synth AOR of the awesome "The Other Side"... but mutate it into some awful pop piece of crap. This is absolutely awful - most disappointing album from a quality band EVER, even Megadeth's Risk was way better than this.

Here Lies Aerosmith. They were born in 1971. Got good ( Get your Wings). Got great(Toys/ Rocks). Sunk under a pile of drugs between 1978 - 1985. Got good again (Permanent vacation). Got great again (Pump). Sold their souls to the MTV generation (Everything since). They are now Aersomith only in name. The fucking album cover is pink for god's sake!..and yes, they did steal the album cover from the band Autograph (the album "That's The Stuff" from about 1985/6. Aerosmith? Forget 'em.

Stop press! Aerosmith have recorded a blues album (called Honking on Bobo). Perhaps I spoke to soon and there is hope. At least a blues album can't contain syrupy ballads with violins all over them. Here's hoping and praying (and Honking on Bobo).

This one falls in between their last two albums. The ballads are just as generic as the crap on "Get A Grip", but at least Aerosmith are willing to try out some new sounds on the other tracks. It works on "Jaded", but the title track is beyond idiotic. 5/10

Jaded was such a great single and I was looking forward to this album coming out. On the day of release me and my mate scuttled off to Manchester and grabbed copies! Now at the time I thought it was pretty good but not great, but as time goes on it gets played less and less so that should say something! When I do listen to it now it just sounds cold and very sterile (Jaded still kicks though). They should stop fucking around with Pro - tools and play their instruments thru amps not computers!!!

You just need to be a little open-minded about a band you love to welcome their changes. It's great to evolve with a band that is always concerned in keeping up with the rhythm of times. This album is simply commercial hard rock of the 21st century. One of their best works since Pump and one of their best songs ever: Jaded. 9/10

That said Jaded and Beyond beautiful were good songs but not good enough for me to dig it out again. Listen to all the other people, Get Rocks or Pump or Toys in the attic. 3/10
