This is a nice album,as usual,FM delivering good quality songs...for me this release has some kind of a retro sound ala "Takin' It To The Streets" era in certain songs as well mixed with some up to date kind of modern AOR feel...tracks 2,3 & 5(pleasant song) are my faves...some other interesting moments are tracks 6,7 & 10...long live FM!!!...87/100 |

for sure in my top ten of 2015.their best record since "tough it out" in 1989.their first record was too too light for me."tough it out" is a sentational record a real masterpiece.after their discography is a collection of average records.like heartland easy to listen but nothing special."heroes and vilains" is a real great surprise.what pleasure to listen a so smart and mature album.their record breathe the class start to finish.only killer songs for a top class a o r realise.sound and production are perfect.i love this record.the japan import is absoluty essential cause we have two fantastic bonus tracks.track 13 "bad that s good in you" is a super song typical from f m.track 14 is the ice on the cake."preying on my mind" is a beautiful and emotional ballad.a hit.this song is "belle à pleurer".traduction"beautiful to cry".why did they reserve these two atomic bombs for the japan market ,only?mystery.for make short buy buy buy.impossible to be disapointed. |

Heros and Villains continues the magnificent return for FM. I have been a longtime fan but the music they have done since "Metropolis" has just been sublime. Actually, to me, they have replaced Thunder for the crown of British rock that's just south of "hard" rock. I do like the recent music from Thunder but FM are just on a different playing field these days. Another stellar effort. 93/100 |

Despite being a huge fan of classic and 80's rock, I had never heard of FM until I came across their video for "Digging Up The Dirt" on youtube. "Heroes and Villains" is a great CD, IMO, FM sound like a mix of 80's Bad Company and Def Leppard. Steve Overland has a great voice, all the songs are solid/catchy, and the production is top notch. Favorite songs, "Digging up the Dirt", "Fire & Rain", "Cold Hearted" and "Only Want To Rock & Roll". They have a new fan, and I will definitely check out their other releases. |
