Great pop metal! Check out New Girl Now, Heart on Fire, Burning in Love. Johnny Dee has a great voice, and he and Derry write great, catchy songs. Recommended!

One of the most impressive Canadian hard rock debuts EVER! Four killer tracks in "New Girl Now", "Burning in Love", "Wave Babies" and "Stay in the Light". How many debut albums go that deep with hits? Not many. This is recommended for anyone who likes medium-heavy Loverboy-style AOR.

I wouldn't have thought that this band would be on this website. I really like "New Girl Now" but thats about the only song I know (I think?). I thought this band was more of a PoP group and thats why I didn't expect to see them on H. Harmonies. I'll have to look into them and find out.

jason, If you listen to their 2nd cd called The Big Prize, you'll recognize the first 3 songs. Bad Attitude, Feel It Again, and What Does It Take. The 3rd cd Racing After Midnight, was a little more Rock than the first 2. Not as good of songwriting, but far better guitar.

One of the best canadian bands ever! Also an outstanding debut!Souds like the most true early 80's sounding efforts I've ever seen!Very difficult to compare them to anybody;they have a sounding whith is very own!Dee's voice sometimes remember me of Toto! They are kind of a canadian version of Bon Jovi in terms of attitude!Best songs:Burning in Love and Wave Babies! No all the songs are great, which is impossible to see in a album theese days! It's a 10 out of 10.Nice cover also!!!!!!!

Purrfect Kat I personally don`t advise you to buy it.As I feared they became kinda of modern rock(Foo Fighters, and stuff)meets Honeymoon suite, they just are not the same!

There are some great songs on this album. And you can see the beginning of a band that was getting ready to write a great album (Big Prize), but just isn't quite 'there' yet. 7/10.

I probably will get some negative backlash from this, but I just wasn't impressed with this record at all. When I first spun it so many years ago, I knew I didn't like it (except a couple tunes), but couldn't really analyze it (hey, I was 16). In retrospect, I can still hear a few good tunes that border on a Loverboy-ish sound (Bon Jovi? No way), but also a whole bunch of limp mid-tempo keyboard fluffies that are about as far from metal as Mr. Mister.

Great debut from Honeymoon Suite. "Burning In Love" is still one of my favorite tracks, among others. Read my review about THE BIG PRIZE!

Without a doubt a brilliant debut from the former Q107 Homegrown contest winner. Excellent.

A great debut album, from one of Canada's top bands of all time. I remember getting this one at the time and playing it non stop for weeks. Even today it stands up very well and is played on a regular basis. The Loverboy comparisons are pretty near on certain tracks, but i always found that they had a sound of their own, especially as Johnny Dee has such a recognisable vocal style.

Can't believe I've never commented on HS, they're one of my fave bands. This is my favourite release, tho Big Prize is seen as the better album this still has a special place for me. Got this when it came out the band had that kind of slightly off the wall sound that Canuck bands seem to have, which they had all but lost by BP. New Girl Now get's the album off to a great start but the best track for me is Wave Babies,it has a cool kinda hazy summery feel. Ends with a great ballad in Face to Face.

I think that Honeymoon Suite debute album is the best one they ever released! "New Girl Now" and "Burning In Love" still remain their greatest hits! As for the music, it is pure AOR. So, I recommend to start listening to Honeymoon Suite from the first album!

quite impressive debut by canadians honeymoon suite, extremely mature and high quality performed.very talented band with nice melodic ideas, not hard rock in its all though.i mean that their sound contains rock/pop elements too ,always in the 80 s style."burning in love", "now that you got me" and "funny business" are my favs.if you want to hear strong guitars this is not your chance.if you like 80 s rock and imagine rush play pop then you have an idea of honeymoon suite back in 1984.good release

Very nice debut by HS...nowadays a classic..."Burning In Love" is my favorite of the album and some others such as "Wave Babies","Stay In The Light"," & "Funny Business" will put an in your face...catchy and melodic stuff with a little Pop flavour...really worth to have indeed...92/100

Indeed they have a sound of their own, immediately recognisable. Their debut shows promise, but the song writing quality and maturity isn't quite there yet. Too many songs on the album are just too light weight and are lacking depth. Noteworthy exceptions are the intriguing song Wave babies and the semi ballad Face to face.
