The music is good without being overly dynamic. It's not paint by numbers exactly, but it's definitely missing something. The opening pair of songs "Never Surrender" and "Make Believe" don't do anything for me unfortunately. When they do get it together, it's impressive. "Jaimee" is primetime AOR with those typically 80's keyboards and melodies shining through. "Patiently" as a ballad, is another, where the vocals zero in on John Elefante territory. |

Don't be fooled or frieghtened by the year 2000 release date... This album was actually recorded in 1991 and had been ripening on the vine since then. Pretty good early 90's stuff. |

I certainly wish this was similar to Steelhouse Lane, unfortunately I think it is far more similar to a lot of second rate AOR bands. Not too bad and I really liked a lot of the CDs on first listen. So don't get me wrong, it's a good AOR CD with some great songs - just not a great one, IMO. |

This one reminds me of a heavier Mecca. It tends to rely on subtle hooks and melodies rather than big punchy choruses. It sounds 10 years more dated than it's original 1991 recording date, but is pretty decent AOR. It also lacks real killer songs, as only the brilliant "Jaimee" and "Patiently" fall into that mould, the latter sounding very Journey-like. Also the first 2 tracks (as mentioned above) are the weakest on offer, but otherwise this is reasonable. 6/10. |

"JAIMEE"...great Upbeat Rockin' tune..I could almost see Rick Springfield singing it back in the early/mid 80's...Would've made "America's Top 40" for sure.. |
