Good album 80/100 BRITISH HEAVY METAL A very strong production and more HARD ROCK and less POWER METAL style are the trademark of this album ! But the lack of true EPIC songs (except "battalions of steel") and the more straight direction make me say that is good but it's not inspired as the last 3 ! However some tracks are truly made for the stage, they sometimes sounds like ACCEPT ("live to rock""protect yourselves") It's a very enjoyable album but not as strong as "inner sanctum" or "lionheart" imho ! buy it anyway ! |

Another F'N fantastic album in a consistently great line of Saxon releases.Seems like these guys up the ante with every effort. They totally out power Maiden and Priest at this point in time for me."Come Rock Of Ages (The Circle Is Complete)" is one of the best tunes they've ever recorded period...d*mn that riff! "Slow Lane Blues"-great stuff. Not to mention the sound on this thing is ridiculous...w/some great vox from Biff to boot. |

Second listening and really conviced me!!!,"Battalion Of Steel"(very epic and powerful song with a little reminiscence of Nightwish in the female choir),"Live To Rock" (Accept style of song that could have fixed the "Eat The Heat" album,perhaps),"Demon..."(kicks you know what!),"Valley Of The Kings"(wonderful)"Coming Out..."(oustanding) & "Coming Home"(beautiful)...in other words...another Saxon anthem!!!...my rate is up to 90/100 now!!!...buy it!!! |

Pretty much a continuation from where '07's excellent 'The Inner Sanctum' left us, but as YNGWIE aboce states, maybe a little less of the power metal sound of the last few albums.. 'Batallion Of Steel' comes thundering out of the speakers and my first impression was that it was Nightwish playing on my stereo, until Biff comes roaring in. Brilliant track and an excellent opener to this fine album. From there on it is pretty much what you would expect a Saxon album to sound like, with a whole host of excellent tracks, with only the metal-by-numbers of 'Hellcat' and a slightly dodgy new version of 'Coming Home' being the fillers on show. So 30 years on and Saxon show no signs of slowing down and with 'Into The Labyrinth', they prove and then some, that they still have what it takes to make brilliant Metal music. Marvellous. |

IMO they lost their style a bit here. This is to much powermetalmainstream compared with SAXONclassics or the strong AORish "Destiny" and "Innocence is no .." |

Decent, but not essential. The first two tracks are very catchy (especially AC/DC-like "Live to Rock") and rock as hell. Others that work pretty well are: "Valley Of The Kings" (with some elements of Hammerfall music), the rocker "Slow Lane Blues" and "Demon Sweeney Todd". However, there are some fillers ("Hellcat", "Protect Yourselves" and especialy boring and unnecessary version of "Coming Home"). The whole album is solid but it's not even close to the best Saxon's releases. 7/10. |

I'm not a big fan, but I bought this album and it rocks! Opinion from a rocknroll fan! 75/100 |
