Almost as good as the debut, but more AOR. Check out "Somewhere in France"... total JOURNEY/HUGO style!! Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, who likes the Hugo solo stuff will be BLOWN INTO NEXT WEEK by that song. "Hungry For a Game" is the best song about gambling since Saga's "Wind Him Up", even though the two sound nothing alike. Bottom line: a whole different side of Skagarack but every bit as entertaining and likeable as the revered debut.

This was their breakthrough album...The title track gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it. Truly amazing! Produced by Tommy Hansen(Helloween, Maids, Victory, Steeler, Tyran pace) It has world-class production. In my opinion not one bad track! Some people may say it lacks balls but the compositions really sweep you away...20 on a scale to 10!

I have the single CD of "Hungry For A Game" containing an extra track called "Sweet Dreams", a fantastic instrumental song that can only be found on this single CD (or on the vinyl edition). Does anyone know about other single CD´s about this great AOR band? I heard "Somewhere In France" was released on a 3" mini CD in Japan?

This is my all time favourite! The best AOR-CD for ever! I like the most "Somewhere in France" as koogles does, but is it really like HUGO??? --I don't know HUGO, but this one M U S T be far better!!!

Always In The Line and Hungry For A Game!! Maybe not best vocals I have heard, but still good.

Now this is the stuff. Fabulous AOR: big production, tons of keys, great vocals, and absolute killer songs. A pretty light album, soundwise it's a little like FM's "Indiscreet"/Ya Ya, but for me it's just about their best. The truth is you really must buy all their 4 CD's, and Schmidt's killer (although slightly more hard-rocking) solo album. In Scandi AOR terms this album is in the top 3 of all-time. 10/10.

A killer AOR CD and the one that got me into the scene. I still play this on a regular basis and have done so for the past 10 years. Favorite track.... "Always In A Line" with it´s pompous out of hell keyboards intro before Torben Schmidt starts in true David Coverdale style and the chorus sets your speakers on fire, AWESOME!!! An alltime classic, HIGHLY RECOMMEND, rating 10/10!!!!!

This was my first taste of Skagarack. The lyrics were always plain and simple to me, but there was a lot of that going around. The songs, however, are magnificent. 'Boys' is probably my fave, but 'Somewere in France' is a great melodic gem, as is 'Joanna' and the title track. Not a 10/10 for me, but still a very good melodic rock CD. Great stuff, and a good intro to the band.

Hungry For A Game is one of my all time favorite songs. Skagarack hit their mark there, and followed it up nicely on the rest of the album. Joanna is very catchy and Somewhere In France is pretty, however both songs are embarrasingly cliched. But the track that almost measures up to the opener, is the closer, Facing The Truth. Everything in between is pretty average stuff to me. Still, a decent follow up to their great 1st album - 6.5/10

Hey Melodiac, The Elap version must be a re-issue. I have the original from the time on Polydor (with the big guitar on the front). If it was re-issued then I can think of no album in my collection that's more deserving...

Not fully as good as the debut, but still an excellent melodic hard rock/aor album. "Hungry for a game" is worth the cd alone... totally outstanding track!

Great follow up after the debut. The "opener" itself is worth spending money, however I think that vocals is the weakpoint of this album-there is no power in the voice. This album could be much better with Per Henriksen or Jeff Soto on vocals. 7.5

thanks to this site, I found out about this one and have been listening all week, this is a fantastic album, a bit of Journey but for the most part, all original stuff, this album just goes by and time to listen again, I would call this one an extremely catchy melodic rock --aor. A Must have!!!! did the vocalist do any recordings lately??? thanks

Again I have to state this one as something you can't praise enough.. as a melodic rock CD It's such fantastic This time I will go the other side round and tell you the weeker songs. I never liked "Boys" & "Outrageous" that much. "Facing...", "She's a liar" are medicre (means by this band 8/10). The rest is AWESOME. Listen to the brilliance, athmospheric "Somewhere in France" or to rockers as "Hungry for a game", "Joanna" or "Take me home..." I such love the singers voice too

This second cd by Skagarack was better song-wise than the debut, more memorable hooks and a fantastic Tommy Hansen production. Some of the songs, I must agree, are almost too sugar-sweet (lacks in the power department), but still a great album by a great band. Not as good as Europe or Stage Dolls (the two best Scandi acts ever imo), but a good effort nevertheless.

Guess that's the most complete album I've ever known of. It starts with a quite good (if not sensational) artwork, goes on with brilliant songs as "Hungry for a game" (The power, the keys, the 'coolness'), "Joanna", "Take me home tonight" (both perfect AOR songs) or the wonderful "Somewhere in france" (WHAT haunting keyline at the end) and ends with a similar as good production. I just give 9,6/10 'cos I think I would end up living if I ever gave a perfect 10 for an album

Vaya disquito! Temas super-pegajosos, teclados mágicos y sobre todo buenos solos, sino escucha "she´s a liar" o "always in line" killers! 9/10

Now this is a good album; good songs on here. Hungry For A Game is a monster of a track and worth the price alone(has the Bon Jovi "Prayer" and Def Leppard "Bringin on the Heartbreak" type chorus and "wo oh's". Tracks 2,3,4,8,9 are also very good. The rest are just ok. Definitely recommended. I would compare this to 80's glam rock and AOR like Bon Jovi and Journey but not quite as good. In my opinion Europe is also better than this band song wise and musicianship wise. This is good though.8/10

Cheap and cheesy AOR/Hard Rock with the standard polite happy chappy sing a long choruses essential to the genre plus some of the cheapest casio keyboard sounds committed to disc this side of fellow scandie wimp merchants DALTON. Completely harmless and just a little dull for these ears but the perfect background muzik for the weekly supermarket shopping visit or ride in the office lift. 63/100

excellent release by SKAGARACK back in 88 and for me this is one of the best out of the European hard rock scene ever!everything seems perfect from the production, the musicianship, the songwriting till the whole vibe!cant find something missing and Hungry For A Game becomes essential!the problem was that with the hair metal explosion on the other side of the world SKAGARACK had no chance of making it big!
