I have owned this album since 1990. It is the best southern rock album. These guys never received the recognition they deserved.Very cool!!

From: Paulo-Fernandes Date: July 23, 2001 at 2:16
Great southern rock feel, if you like stuff like Tangier you'll love this. Check out Call Of The Wild, The Distance and St. James Infirmary

From: koogles Date: January 2, 2002 at 14:43
Lead-footed southern metal that will bore you into sedation. Pillow time.

From: BECK Date: January 22, 2002 at 18:24
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS LISTED AS HARD ROCK AND CINDERELLA IS LISTED AS AOR. ANYWAY THESE GUYS ARE AS FAMOUS AS THEY SHOULD BE, NOT AT ALL. IF THIS IS GOOD MUSIC THEN DEF LEPPARD IS A JAZZ GROUP!!!!

From: S.K.B. Date: January 28, 2002 at 21:53
This band is totally under-rated. Check out Crown Jewels (www.crownjewelsnyc.com) and Kyf Brewer (www.kyfbrewer.com). Kyf was the lead singer and the Crown Jewels were the backing band - pretty much. Both carry on the CofW sound and feel. Plus, they now have a 3rd album out Styral Spycase (spelling?).

From: T.Deexx Date: June 3, 2002 at 19:47
This is one of the best AOR albums from de 90 ´s , neither hard rock or southern rock ( if u searchín´for a lynnyrd clon, forget it ), just perfect AOR in the line of Giant with a powerfull sound and great songs . Not for Pantera´s fans, obviously.Greeeaaaaatttt!!11

From: Desslar Date: June 4, 2002 at 16:10
Awesome mix of classic and hard rock. Fans of Bad Company or the Quireboys should definitely pick this up. Has anyone heard the second album?

From: Kim Date: June 14, 2002 at 1:47
Great album. Does anyone know what happened to this band. I saw they released a cd in 1998, but have they had any sideprojects or other bands.???

From: nitrodoll Date: August 25, 2002 at 11:40
hey mexican dude, what are u talking about..this is a great cd, reminds me a bit of the old bryan adams , but that's actually a good thing....i still listen to the cd..one of my alltime favorite lines comes from a lyric on this album: "WORK IS A KNIFE IN A YOUNG MAN'S HEART"..ain't that the truth? 9/10 nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

Promotional calenders, T-shirts and jackets, all proclaming 1990 to be the "Year of the Wolf". One look at these East Coasters cheesy sleeve photos and self-indulgent liner notes almost pushed Company Of Wolves into Ram Jam turf. They look like secondrate Pope of Greenwich Village racketeers after some dirty numbers deal went down. A presto fan club and one jacked up hairstylist!!! Instant cut out bin right? Noop! This band knows how to rock with a bracing set of R&B inflected tunes!!!

From: Drag-in-Bones Date: September 16, 2002 at 23:39
"Call Of THe Wild"-- A anthem if there ever was one, the track has all the right ingredients: A raspy, bar-room-schooled vocalist, a blues-smart guitar lead, and a crashing crescendo of a chorus just perfect for top-down cruising!!!

From: Tony Date: September 21, 2002 at 20:09
I can't believe I got this gem for only $4 on Ebay!!! Just a great bluesy rock album in the mode of Bad Company. I remember listening to this tape and Havana Black's "Indian Warrior" tape over & over in 90'. Very similar sounding groups. The great thing with these guys is just like Cinderella they are able to wed great bluesy riffing with singalong anthem-like choruses. This stuff in all seriousness was probably too good in 90' for what was going on thus it was "Company Of Wolves who???".

Sonbuenos buen hard americano con buenos estribillos, buena melodía, buenas baladas.Pero sin bombazos un 7,5/10

From: Mike Date: April 6, 2003 at 4:39
Not that good!! plain & Simple

From: Livebait Date: May 29, 2003 at 8:09
The harmonica piece in the song "Hells Kitchen" had me down to the local music shop to learn how to play, like the one on Brother Canes debut album.Awesome. Every song a southern blues-rock tipped killer, many could have easily been played on the radio had the commercial shit stuffed DJ's crawled out of their holes into the real world of rock music.I'm afraid these guys do what the Stones do only twice as well. Brilliant.

From: tomcat Date: October 8, 2003 at 5:39
a personal highlight, me buying this disc and listening to it all the time way back in the 90's... favorite song: all of them...

From: the assassing Date: December 13, 2003 at 2:41
not quite southern rock. kyf is from baltimore the rest from boston. first 9 songs are amazing last 3 sound rushed 8.5/10. check out kyf's solo stuff very kick ass.

From: Steven Rawlins Date: December 26, 2003 at 20:23
Bought the vinyl for 2 guilders 50 cents... best musical purchase i've made. Plain hard rock to me though; but i like it very much. Favourite song (of course): my ship.

From: Nikki6 Date: January 11, 2004 at 18:00
Kick-Ass Rock. These guys really rock. Just buy it

From: bernardito Date: February 28, 2004 at 22:00
JUST PURE AND A SIMPLE HARD ROCK DISC NOT SO BAD BUT...7/10

From: Rocker76 Date: March 8, 2004 at 17:21
This one kinda defies labels for me. It's a good mixture of 80s hard rock, Southern rock, and a bit of AOR. Along the lines of Tangier or mid-late 80s Foreigner or Bad Company. All in all, pretty consistent rock album. I wouldn't stay up late looking for this one - but definitely worth the buy if you run across a good used copy.

From: ROSWELL Date: March 13, 2004 at 22:18
Bon sang de Bonsoir, pourquoi ont-ils arrêter aussi ceux-là?C'était surement trop classe pour les jeunes qui commençaient à grunger avec Nirvana...Dommage, mais c'est la vie

From: the musicman Date: April 13, 2004 at 19:27
he who thinks himself more capable...only needs to step up to the mic.and prove it... good sound and concept and performance.

From: Romain chelles Date: May 26, 2004 at 6:52

From: Big Papa K Date: June 25, 2004 at 1:55
Boring bluesy hard rock. The first track had some life to it, but the rest worked well as a sleeping aid. 3/10

From: Rycheage Date: August 13, 2004 at 22:11
"Call Of The Wild" is a good blues-infused rock track but the rest gets samey and boring real fast. Not real thoughtful and pretty forgettable. Not recommended.

From: Geoff Date: August 14, 2004 at 23:43
Very ordinay and pretty damn Okay albumboring hard rock, but I do absolutely love the brilliant 'The distance'. Killer song and the only reason this is still in my collection - seriously. Though I don't mind 'I don't wanna be loved' either - nice enough ballad. Okay album. 5/10

From: jason Date: August 17, 2004 at 4:23
how the fuck can i download "the distance"?

From: metalmaniac777 Date: March 23, 2006 at 12:45
I tossed this CD out of my collection shortly after picking it up and I don't think the other CDs have missed its company. Now, rock & roll is subjective, and what to my ears sounds like boring southern-rock drivel may sound like sweet, sweet music to you. Personally, I'd rather go down to the Florida Everglades and let gators gnaw on my gnads than listen to this dull, uninspired album again, but who knows, maybe that's just me. This one makes for some bad company, and I don't mean the band...

From: rick kerch vzla Date: July 13, 2008 at 11:58
Despite the comments above (some of them really bad),i consider this album a great piece of Hard Rock with plenty of southern influences."Call Of The Wild" and "Hell's Kitchen" are songs that inmediately puts you in a good mood!!!.The rest of the songs are up and down ones but still steady to make you feel happy to continue listening to this album.85/100

From: happy2849 Date: January 21, 2011 at 15:05
While not the best thing released in 1990 it's still better then most. Some great hard Southern rock with atitude.

From: hair metal again Date: December 26, 2012 at 23:30
excellent hair metal release by COMPANY OF WOLVES with many great songs and an absolutely balanced and polished sound!the bands musicianship is great and the production very professional!the band seems to enjoy it and the result is songs like "the distance","i dont wanna be loved","hell s kitchen","everybody s baby" ,"my ship"!those guys could have hit the spot and i tried so by buying the vinyl back in the day!great stuff indeed!
