Rene, I believe both Dave Scott & Todd Kelly appeared on the first CD, but Dave is identified as 'David' in the credits for that one.

Not that I'm aware of. A second Tuff Luck release with Rick Maurer on vocals has been mentioned before in the comments here on HH for their first cd. Also, this CD has popped up on Ebay twice recently from seller rockcity1971...

This CD was briefly released a few years back and disappeared quickly. I read Ann Boleyn of Hellion was mad as hell for the first disc getting reissued by the same label and claiming she owned the rights still. Problem with her is, on her 'reissues' she never paid a cent of royalties to the bands.

I just bought a dvd of TL from 1992 on yahoo auctions. I like the band I just hope it isn't some shity bootleg piece of crap. Does any else have this dvd or video from this era of the band?

Beastie Boyz, who did you buy it from & what shows are they? I recently bought a dvd from Ebay with the original lineup & it wasn't that great.

From: BEASTIE BOYZ |

According to the listing and PAYPAL it is from someone in Florida. The band members on the dvd are DAVE SCOTT - JAMES MARINO - TODD KELLY and RICK MAUER. It says live from Summers 1992? I have no clue. I'll let you know when I get it.

What a goof! I was just checking out another band on this site looking for info on the band PUSH from Jersey. Is this the same band that the singer from PUSH joined? I know his name was Rick (something). I saw those guys in Staten Island with AMERICAN ANGEL. Both singers were great, I miss the 80's. I went to the site listed above and it's not working. Let me know if this is the same dude.

I emailed this singer -RICK- and asked for a copy of the disk because I can't find it. He emailed me one of the songs that wasn't on the disk and it's very cool. I posted it on my yahoo account if anyone wants it. Yahoo is kind of slow but I don't have a better place to upload. I hope this stuff gets re-released because it kicks major ass. http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/bc/42383f2c_108c8/bc/music/Tuff+Luck-Theropy.mp3?bf7yEOCBINYa7n54

Not even close, I'm in Arizona. I travel more than not. I use to live in Lauderdale between 87'& 93'. I have a real problem with people ripping off bands like TUFF LUCK. They were really good and had tons of talent, it sucks that they didn't make it. I still keep tabs on the bands that I liked back in the day. I heard the 'David Manson' project and I'm not impressed. He should stick with what he's good at, regardless of what's popular at the moment, or in that case 'several moments ago'.

I saw Rick's site a couple of months ago but he took it down because he said it was a distraction. We've been emailing each other back and forth for a while and I know he looks in on this board so 'What up Doucheteeth?' You guys should hear the songs he did with ONE RED WALL & DICK GOZINYA & THE ALTAR BOYS. He's doing a project now but I don't know what it's all about, I'll have to drop him a line. I wish he would write with Dave again but I think there's a better chance of me finding god.

I'm at the airport on my way to Orlando & Miami so I'm writing while I sit here. Pardon my rambling. I wish I could go to the Button South & see some rock while I'm in town but I hear they went Latin? I saw that ROCK CITY ANGELS was supposed to do a reunion or something, without Depp I would think. As far as this cd goes I think it has a couple outstanding tunes & a few bombs as well, but I really like Dave & Rick together as writers even if they can't stand each other. gotta go, later.

a little rare thing to present to this forum is that before the rick maurer cassette came out officially.tuff luck was going under the name sucker punch, which i still have the flyer for.what im hunting down is the rare 45 of cryer-pre tuff luck band with paul colt on vocals of back against the wall/get back very rare these day`s.south florida had some burning guitar players in the 80`s metal scene.

I saw Rick while I was in town. Dude is funny as hell. We hooked up at a pub in Sunrise and sang karaoke! He gave me a TUFF LUCK DVD of the band in a recording studio in Jersey and some stuff I've never heard before, rehearsal tapes and live stuff. He said to say 'YO' to all. You wouldn't believe what he is doing now, amazing! Promised not to say anything so you have to wait. I'll post the time, date & location of the party when he lets me know -it's only partly music- good stuff-said too much

See, Mighty Mike was right when he said 'It's simple. There are some people that would love to hear TL blasted on there stereos. Unless she is doing something to improve that possibility.(NOT) Enjoy the music anyway you can..That's just my opinion. I think the music was originally meant to be heard.MM' Rick is just giving the people what they want, free music. Too right Mike.

Good luck trying to find one of the 100 or so original copies of this CD. Sources in Florida tell me it was a basement operation back in the day, and they were forced out because of tax evasion. These are great songs, I'm glad Rick himself put them up for grabs, he's a terrific talented singer, unfortunately, as a person, he's IMPOSSIBLE to deal with, he's got anger and entitlement issues (when Ricky doesn't get his way he throws a CHAIR against the wall) and the only folks that are afraid of hi

I read a post on Amazom.com from Ian Black. Ian sounded like he didn't think all that highly of Dave, which appears to be the consensus among the singers who played in this band. I hear Dave is back in Florida with his wife and child. Is this true? Personally I liked all of the various lineups of TL, each had its own jen es se qua. Much love to you all

I'm spending days and hours sifting through all of my 80's/90's Hard Rock & Heavy Metal. I'm listening to this recording titled "Tuff Luck II". Out of all the 80's & 90's stuff, this is the epitome for me. This sound is the pinnacle for my liking. About 1989 to 1993. A little Dirty Blues, Sleaze, Glam, and Bad Ass Hard Rock rolled in one.
